I cannot THANK Dr Skala (& his team) enough for there excellent bed side manner, there was nothing that I felt uncomfortable telling him.just an AMAZING DOCTOR (*Like our old "family Doctors in the past"). 100% Reliable and so very Caring.

By far the worst medical experience i have ever had. I am almost certain the doctor that I met was either drunk or on some heavy sedatives as he was slurring his words and having trouble retaining balance. I was given about 30 seconds to tell him my ailments before he started writing a prescription and mumbling for me to leave.

Upon getting to a pharmacy i spoke with a helpful pharmacist who told me to halve the dosing recommended by the doctor (antihistamine tablets 3 times a day) if i wanted to stay out of hospital. A local pharmacist was infinitely more helpful than the semi-conscious, incoherent and apathetic doctor I payed over $100 to deal with here.

I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down already, unbelievably bad service. Also ended up having to go the hospital as the doctors hasty diagnosis was completely wrong.

Discovered it recently after trying a couple of the other ones and being very dissatisfied. The centre is opened very long hours and have very friendly and helpful receptionists who always will try to fit me in if I am sick (have severe asthma). There are always 2 nurses on duty as well as several doctors. I also received great advice from their travel doctor as I am travelling to Africa shortly, if my health permits. The waiting room is always packed but patients seem to be seen quickly. I discoved also that most of my friends who work in the city also attend there and are very happy with the service.

The doctor sat me down asked me where I was going, muttered some drug names and then passed me over a nurse. She was very friendly and professional. She went through all the vaccinations one by one, thoroughly explaining the costs of each option and the associated risks. The vaccinations were done quickly and painlessly. Unlike the doctors at this clinic i've encountered, she didn't seem rushed or distracted. As far as I can see the doctor needn't have been involved in the process at all.

Fabulous experience at this clinic. Heaps of information to peruse before seeing the doctor and nurse. Our itinerary was complicated but they easily sorted out the necessary vaccinations and malaria medications required. They also gave us a great first aid kit for our extended trip to Africa, which had so many things it resembled a mini pharmacy and very reasonably priced as well.
The other great feature was that we were able to source our 3rd rabies shots at one of their Travel Clinics in Melbourne, as we were going there to visit family before we left Australia.
We have highly recommended them to all of our friends going with us!
Their location is also very convenient being right on the Brisbane City Mall.

Although I waited 45 minutes to see the a Dr Skala for travel related injection's, the reception staff provided me with constant communication of when/how many patient's were in front of me/provided me with a coffee and I thought it was great!

Dr Skala had all injection's were I required, and although I had to pay privately I VALUE the safety, health and well being of myself much more then any value of money.

I will refer friends and I will definitely go back there.

I was judged and didn't have my symptoms taken seriously by a doctor who subsequently asked me "if I reckon I should have a blood test". I wasn't too sure, but I could've sworn it was their job to decide that. I wonder how some of these people still retain medical degrees. And the poor professionalism doesn't stop there - anybody who reviews this place negatively gets blasted with information about how busy the practice is and how very lucky we all are to have attended it by the troll who haunts this page. My advice would be to concentrate on bettering your medical practice rather than abusing everybody who has a problem with it.

Air con was not helping my fever at all!

The old male doctor with white hair spent about 2 minutes with me, he told me yes you have tonsilitis and wrote me a script for something i was already using but it was half the strength and my appointment cost 60 dollars.
There was no doctors certificate or any care for his patient. I went to the pharmacy around the corner got my script, they were very sure that i needed something else for my throat so the pain would stop i couldn't speak mind you but yet they wished me to get better.
I'm disgusted in the care taken to my at Travellers Medical service.

Undisputedly the worst. If you value your time and money, never go to this practice.
I booked an appointment for 3.30pm, told the staff on the phone that I need to be out of there before 4.30pm for another appointment. Arrive 3.34pm, wait 20 minutes. 3.55pm comes ask if I should reschedule. "No No only 1 or 2 minutes".
4.10pm Nurse finally surfaces. I tell her I need to leave before 4.30. Then finally they tell me I need to wait half an hour after the vaccination before I can leave, so I can't have the vaccination. They can do the consultation though and I can come back the next day for the vaccination. I don't need a consultation. I need a yellow fever shot.

They charge me $88 cash on the spot for 8 minutes with a nurse. No doctor (the doctor did walk into the room and tick a couple of boxes on a sheet of paper). Then tell me I'll have to go to medicare and waste an hour of my life to claim $36 back.

When i returned the next day to have the vaccinations, the managing doctor confronted me about this review. He told me he 'runs a very professional business'. Told me 'this is what gen' y's do.ruin businesses on the internet with lies. I told him that the other reviews certainly indicate that this was not an isolated incident.

He tried to apologise at some point during this tirade against reviews on the internet. Amongst the gen y hating it didn't appear very sincere. He told me that he knows the owner of truelocal and that my review would be censored. His justification for the $88 consultation was the booklet that they print off the internet being worth $29.

I appreciate that he brought up the concerns but he was more interested in proving that I was wrong and he was right.

The nurses there are very smart and professional. The injections were delivered very professionally by the nurse and the risks of them were outlined before they were given.
