Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre reviews
21Great, other than the stairs but helped by staff, which was great and helped with the seating also. Entertainment was excellent with the graduation of the Uni students.
I went to watch my granddaughter in her City Studios Townsville, Mini City Showcase and it was an absolutely fantastic afternoon, the children from tiny ones to seniors have done an awesome job
Good show QUEEN. Seats are fairly comfortable, acoustics super but rather cold needing coat etc. And upper level steps rather steep. Not good for elderly folk - like us.
My experience here is always tattered by the confusion that comes with having no real wheelchair seating. Apart from this staff have always been friendly and helpful to my partner and I. The events themselves are well coordinated and enjoyable.
Great place to rest with family, as long as it's early and no traffic. Otherwise it's Hoonville out there
I'm 55 years old. Refused service because I could not show my drivers licence to prove it. Poor.
Crowded House were awesome. Bar prices are just ridiculous, totally fleecing a captive audience, you should be ashamed. $12 for a can of Jim Beam and Coke.will defs do before drinks elsewhere and all this place will get is me using their toilet
Went to see the Ten Tennors on the evening of the 29 July. Out of all doors around 8 of them only 1 door open. People 95% that were very elderly started to que at 1830, the show was supposed to start at 1930, at 1910 people were still quing to get to their seats when the show started. 95% of the audience that were less mobile having to que on the stairs. Around 100 people missed the start due to very poor planing. The staff were all wearing 'The Ville' polo shirts.
It's also atrocious parking facilities, remember everyone, This entertainment centre is a basketball centre.
Food terrible and along with drinks very expensive. No traffic control to clear what parking the was. The coast guard car park, people were allowed to park if they made a donation of $5 per car.
Went and saw straussman and walked out 20 mins into him. All outdated and making fun of topics that he shouldn't. Not funny at all. Had vip tickets all you got is squeezed in down the front on a plastic chair sitting elbow to elbow with a guy that was snorting gillies for the time we endured it. Won't be back there
It's fine as a venue. Not a massive amount of parking, but you can usually find something near by.
It is what it is. Old conventional entertainment centre that is showing its advancing years. It still achieves the aim, but is getting tatty. Car parking is abysmal and traffic is poorly managed resulting in slow departures. If you are not on the tiered seating look forward to being seated on plastic chairs at the stage front. Sound and lighting are prone to the odd snap or pop that may enliven otherwise dull performances but generally will do what is asked of it. A grand old lady it aint, but in Townsville it is what you get.
Saw David Strassman last night. The show was fantastic.
But unfortunately bought a cup of chips that was luke warm at best and tasted awful due to this.
We bought VIP tickets. And honestly i wish we had bought other seating options. The chairs were uncomfortable. They were all joined together so i was rubbing shoulders with other people and honestly i noticed a few people sitting uncomfortably because not all people are small build.
So while the show was fantastic, the venue was less than ideal.
I will doubt about what i purchase in the future.
Very disappointing
For checking in would suggest some sort of channeling/ designated area. Because people stop the scan the QR code, more people then stop, not realizing that there are places further up that you can sign in. This makes the process of getting in the door rather slow.
Went to my first basketball game. I realise my seats were free in payment for services. But they were up at the very top row. It was freezing and so glary from lights on the court that I could hardly see the players. Not a fan of the game atmosphere. Not for me.
We didn't go in to the centre we out side on the banks and did some fishing it is a lovely place to sit and fish also to watch the boats come and go
Excellent access considering the number of people attending graduation ceremony. Lack of parking is a serious problem.
OMG ten tenors.great great great. Service at the venue was very professional. They are well worth their weight in gold.
Ten Tenors Brilliant! Seating great. Air con too cold for most people. Gentlrman met us when we arrived & assisted us as I had a wheelie walker. All staff very helpful!
The venue was amazing. Everything was well catered for at the Townsville Conventional Centre. Great entertainment venue.
The venue was OK but getting a reasonably close car park for a venue of this size is ridiculous. Car parks that are nearby belong to other businesses.
