We used to come here regularly. The chef is a clown putting it nicely. 6.50pm is too late apparently to order tea. He makes smart comments while hiding behind the counter, has done before and food is very hit and miss. Average at best. Think a new chef would be great for this place.

Had my dads 80th Bday! Staff, Food, Service as always exceptional, Food was brilliant, friendly professional staff, an awesome restuarant, child friendly & perfect for functions. Very impressed. Thank you so much x

I come to the thuringowa rsl regularly, however I try not to eat their as the chef is terrible. Tonight I thought I would try the special of bitter chicken fill with salad and sweet potato fries, as I don't like sweet potato fries I asked to swap them out with normal chips. The waitress turned to ask the chef and before she could get 3 words out he said no and turned his back and refused to listen to the reason. I was not happy with this response and called the chef an arseholehe ignored me. I got my food finally, I think he went very slow deliberately and switched my fries for a friends chips. They wrote probably the worst cooked chips in history. They were dark and horrid like when the oil hasn't been changed for a week. Needless to say the chips went back. The salad was OK and the filo acceptable. I think I will stop eating there again until they change the chef again. To make matters worse all the prices have just gone up, so you will be paying more for mediocre food, I recommend you eat elsewhere and come for the drinks and pokies and the rest of the staff who are exceptional.

Relaxing atmosphere good food. No win on the pokies. A nice change to give the cook a night off.

The woman with the mouth piercings behind the bar was surly and rude. The young man tending was the opposite friendly and patient.

Staff are absolutely lovely & provide excellent service but they do not receive adequate time off commensurate to the hours worked. Also, please update the club operating times on your website. PLEASE GET A YELLOW LIGHT FOR THE SMOKING AREA OR WHATEVER THEY HAVE AVAILABLE NOW. IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE BUGS & NOT GOOD FOR PAYING PATRONS.

Staff very Friendly and efficient Food was average Menu could do with an update. Worth a visit.

Now it's come to life and has Aircon. Pokies. Green grass. OMG

Dinner on Monday night 16 March fine but far too cold. Apparently the aircon was set at 18 degrees with few people there. Was glad to leave.

Fantastic Staff great members draws plenty of raffles and live entertainment. Sometimes there is a wait on the food but its worth it. Best waygu crumbed steak in Townsville when its on special.

Excellent environment. Good vibe. Great food. Given a 4 out of 5 instead of a 5 star, due to bad meals on a Sunday lunchtime for all the family, after waiting for over one hour on a quiet day.

I really want to support this place and give it a good review but with respect to the food, I just cannot. Last night I went there the third time since the upgrade, reluctantly to be honest, booked table and it was same issues as first two time, which I had pegged up to new restaurant issue, but now I am thinking it’s just not well run in the kitchen. Waited over an hour for food, again, and food was substandard. Surf n turf with shrimps out of a tin, steak over cooked and my friend had the lamb roast of the day and it was so tough and dry, it had to have been days old and reheated, it was awful. The head chef should be embarrassed to plate that food. Then the veges were basically raw. I get that the prices are a bit cheaper but the prices we paid do not reflect the quality of the food. Sadly I would be very hesitant to go there for a planned meal again. Would be happy to go for a drink, but that’s all.

Nice new club good food and great location for the people of the upper Ross and for our diggers and ex diggers.

Good food at a decent price, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. The new venue is well thought out and kid-friendly.

Great service and food, the menu has grown to the size of a regular restaurant and the renovations have completely changed the restaurant.

Always clean, staff are always friendly and service is faster than the average restaurant in my experience.

My wife and I love this place. Its kid friendly and for us this is important as we have young kids. The restaurant is very affordable and have great selection on the menu and the staff are very welcoming. I give them a 5 star all day long

What a fantastic asset to the community! This place is not even recognisable from what it used to be, and is now such a modern, lovely friendly place that welcomes everyone. The vegan food selection is better than that of many big city pubs and restaurants, and the quality is top notch. Thank you for providing such great inclusive options.
