The Social Space, Moorooka reviews
10Beautiful vegetarian food. Lovely people, kind and generous atmosphere. Please donate to this cause if you have any spare money, if not just enjoy the vibe
They serve vegetarian food, and taste pretty nice. You can get food and coffee but of course you also can donate money for them. Or donate things that you don't want it again.
The food and coffee here is way nicer than community kitchens run by church groups/ charities, but signs around the place saying they don't get funding and asking you to donate make you feel uncomfortable and judged if you've got no money. The staff serving are always friendly though. The size of the vegetarian meals is quite small and you feel as if asking for more would just deprive others. At least at the charity places eg Salvos there's always heaps of food and zero expectation of payment. Maybe I'm just a naturally guilty person and others won't feel this way.
This place is unbelievable if you have a want for social inclusion and to feel part of a community start here. Get some ideas for your suburb.
The Social Space is an autonomous project run solely by volunteers. This cafe is either free or on donation and it has the best coffee and healthiest food. Mums with kids are supported and people from vulnerable backgrounds heavily welcomed. There is an op shop that is totally free. And the people are super friendly and just amazing to be around!
The Certificate 2 in Cleaning was a Very good experience, I learned a lot of new things, but the People who Designed the Modules know nothing about Cleaning, but Ron my Trainer sorted that out, and Simplefied the whole Process, it was great, and Freind staff, and Class mates.
I have just discovered this beautiful place unfortunately they had just closed. I would love to donate some items to this amazing place could someone please tell me what days they operate and what days would suit donations to be dropped off
I'm excited about attending this place and enjoy a coffee in 5he garden
What an amazing initiative. This place makes me proud to new a moorookan. Pay what you can, if you can cafe, a free shop and just a great vibe
Liz, Kevin and the team of friends serve delicious healthy food to the local community out of pure kindness, to provide a welcoming space and raise awareness of issues important to us all.global heating and climate change, refugee resettlement, homelessness and poverty. If you come for lunch make sure you start up a conversation about these issues, or ask questions, everyone welcome. And do pop a donation in the box, all the volunteers work long hours, for free, to make the social space work for all, but the food costs money. Coffees and teas do too.
The place to visit for excellent soy coffees, delicious muffins and excellent food cooked by volunteers from Wednesday to Sunday. The fresh produce is gathered from the garden and you pay by donation. A lovely place to meet friendly people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
