The Record Exchange reviews
40 Every item is over priced
They had dvds and vhs tapes that cost more than a weekly rent, the store has zero in the way of a lay out you can't find anything in there
A mess, but they have lots of cassettes, so worth visiting if you have the time to go through everything.
Had a guy named richard who served me.didnt have the vinyl i was looking for but promised he would look in their storage place for them.called me the next day saying he found them in storage.richard you rock
The guy behind the counter was acting like a complete sarcastic condescending hipster the entire time, I literally just wanted to buy a vinyl and he kept making snarky comments about my music taste. Good collection though found some records I had been looking for, for a while.
If your looking for hard to find Records Cds Cassettes Posters Tshirts and more, Record Exchange is the store to find them, Richard the owner is a gentleman and will help you find what your looking for.
Great selection of vinyl and various audio delights. Van the owner is a good bloke and very fair in his appraisals. Great shop for music and band lovers.
Richard is cool man. I’ve learnt a lot from Richard. Very wise, very funky, all in all a pretty cool shop.
Ever since I have been visiting this store since the early 2000's, I just always get the feeling that the records you wanna buy are 'out the back' (never to be seen and never to be sold).
I've read that this store houses the largest collection in the southern hemisphere.of junky $2 records that is.
Just today, I overheard a young person ask if there was any Van Halen in the store. The owner said, "I'll get my help onto it". I wouldn't be surprised if that young person is still waiting.
So if you like $2 junk vinyl and potentially waiting for hours for 'the help' to find you a record, you will be n heaven.
Nightmare experience. 0/10 stars. The old guy behind the counter asked weird questions and very rude.
I am kind of new to the Vinyl world and i highly recommend this place! Not just for that but quite a lot of other good, rare stuff.
Lovely atmosphere, amazing music playing, wode range of products, from vinyls to cds, t shirts, some books, posters and even some old players, patches and more, could spend hours in there. Its a bit hot, some fans in the room, and if you dont like a bir of clutter probably not the place for you. I love the vibes of the place.
0/10 stars. If someone is calling to enquire about something and you can't be bothered looking then just say so instead of hanging up. Going in person was a nightmare, so much clutter I'm surprised no one has been injured yet.
Very friendly and did ok on a teeshirt with CDs exchanged as well.recommend this little place for huge variety.
Great store. Heaps of records! There are CD's and DVD's as well. Plenty of music from 70's, 80's, 90's. Love this place.
Very helpful and knowledgeable, and just a great business. Every time I go in I find something I like
So amazing I love it there so so so much you can find albums that you deem impossible to find or ultra rare, and this store has it. So reliable for finding vinyl you want also very knowledgeable about vinyl! It is very cluttered but I think it adds to the charm, honestly just prepare for like 30mins-hour of searching in a cluttered store that gets a bit hot. Also if looking for something you can’t find ask the employees, the owner is really nice and knowledgeable!
Calls me up with a record I was after that had come in. Head in there, old mate is eating soup on the counter. Says it’s here somewhere, amongst what can be only described as a dump site, as says pointing to look over there. 30 mins later no luck. Then tells me he’s too busy with other customers. Piss poor service
Not recommended. One of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had. I'm looking for record needles, on the phone they said they've got them. So I've driven half an hour to get there, then I'm told she doesn't know where they are and won't look for them. What a joke. Will never come here again.
The only place to buy records in brisbane! This has been a family owned business since the 70s, and has a huge range at really good prices- much better than 90% of record dealers.
Amazing! You can find almost any record or CD you want, with a massive range of memorabilia, retro technology, etc.hanging around the store. It’s cozy and has a rockin’ atmosphere. I went in there ready to buy a new camera after my Pentax MZ-60 broke down earlier today, instead they had a look at it and fixed the issue for me with no charge. Very polite and helpful people <3 It is family run and you truly get a personal experience while shopping that you don’t find in chain businesses, and you aren’t supporting billionaires like you would if you were buying records from a place like JB Hi-Fi. There’s history to every item and the whole store has an aura of the Brisbane music and art scene. It has something for everyone. An awesome place for old souls to hang out and shop.
