The Laptop Guy

I retired about 10 years ago after 50years in the Radio and TV service industry.
I lament the fact that there is very little quality service available to repair older but very good quality electronic equipment.
I had been advised by numerous people in the industry to throw away my slow 17 inch laptop and purchase a replacement.
The user has some physical and visual impairment and needs a large screen and keyboard for functionality.
A replacement is in the order of $2500+ and is quite out of the question.
In casual conversation with a friend 2 nights ago, I was told to try this "Laptop Guy" in Albany Creek.
I phoned at 9am yesterday (on the weekend) and was there 20 minutes later.
He diagnosed the problem and suggested a few upgrades to software etc. I left the laptop with him for repair.
Two hours later He phoned me and said the computer was ready for pickup.
The performance is now lightning fast with a new solid state drive and a full tidy up.
All this at 10% of the replacement cost of a new laptop.
York Yang, this quiet unassuming man, explained in simple terms without jargon, what was required to return my equipment to full functionality.
He was efficient, fast, and charged a very modest price for his absolutely top class service.
Do yourself a favour, give the business a go. I am sure you will not be sorry.

I brought my laptop to York with a faulty display yesterday afternoon, and he found, fixed the problem and said it was ready to be picked up not even 24 hours later. York was pleasant and polite when explaining things, both when I dropped off and picked up, and his service is not only quick but fairly priced. Will be recommending his services to friends and family!

York was down to Earth and easy to trust straight away. He was then able to fix my screen before my workshop tomorrow, which I am very grateful for. He also noticed another issue my laptop was having and showed me how to clear it up. I'm totally pleased to have given York a call, and I'd recommend The Laptop Guy to anyone!

My son's broken computer screen was fixed within 20 minutes. The price was cheaper than other places where I asked the quote.

Highly recommend York, took a laptop that couldnt login, he fixed the problem and even replaced the hard drive with a second hand hardrive for no additional charge. Available after hours which is so helpful when working full time. Super quick. Will certainly use again when needed.

My laptop hard drive had crashed. I had spent several days trying to fix the drive, gave up on that and bought a new drive. No matter what I did I could not get the new drive up and running, nor reinstall Windows. Took it to York and within a couple of hours he rang me to say all fixed. Excellent skills, very professional, amazing turn around time and fantastic value. York will be my first choice next time.

Approachable and easy to chat to. I found that he had great advice when it came to enquiring about the battery life on my laptop. Was referred to by my family members, so he's doing a great job.

What a lovely guy, I turned up with my wife's laptop after we had already been to a main high street retailers seeking advice as it would not switch on. On arrival The Lap Top Guy assessed the laptop, he somehow switched it on, I reckon just crossing his threshold repaired it, anyway, he conducted a thorough assessment of it, carried out a malware sweep and declared it fit for use. I asked how much for his time and assessment and he would not charge me, I can not recommend this guy highly enough, he will be my 'Go to' for all future issues with our laptops. Came in to get my laptop looked at. Very quick and thorough service, and very reasonable as well. Would definitely see him again for any problems.

I cannot recommend The Lap Top Guy highly enough. Not only was York responsive on the weekend, he was honest and helpful too. While he didn't have my (uncommon) screen in stock, he was able to order it and fixed it within 10-minutes once it arrived. While I hope to not have laptop issues again, I definitely know where to go to if I do.

Replaced cracked screen on my lap within an hour and charged a fair deal on costs and saved me two weeks of waiting period and all other headaches and saved me $1,600 for a brand new 1 before a Monday.

My wife's laptop suddenly died last night. No backups of course, critical work on the laptop which could not be lost and also needed on a daily basis. Needed a successful fix and a quick turnaround. Phoned York first thing, took it round (15 mins away) and it was fixed by mid morning, and he also replaced the older style HDD with a newer SSD. Just got my broken Laptop screen fixed, very professional, friendly and helpful service.
Expected it would take a lot longer and cost me heaps of money, but it was done within minutes for a fair price and my Laptop works perfectly now.

Can 100% recommend.

Most of the reviews must be fake, cause this guy has serious behavioral issues. I walk in and he giggles at things I said about the issue - I am a software engineer btw-. He doesn't even listen properly. He quickly collected my information without even telling me about his possible solution, and wouldn't even tell me he'd charge 55 dollars for only checking the issue if I hadn't asked. Don't waste your time, Laptop Guy is unprofessional.

York is an absolute legend. He was so quick in helping me remove stripped screws on the base of my Dell XPS Laptop! Can't thank him enough!
