The Green Edge reviews
53I have been vegan for 3 years and places like this still impress me with how good vegan food is. So yummy
Great, all-vegan grocery store (no fresh produce, bread). Snack foods, frozen meat-alternatives, refrigerated dairy-alternatives, packaged staples, pet food and lots more. Cheesecakes and other sweet treats. Try the biscoff cake truffle!
The café has indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast menu until 11: 00 am; drinks until 3: 00 pm; lunch menu 11: 00 am to 3: 00 pm. Beverages (shakes, coffees, teas, frappés), wraps, bowls, salads, pancakes, burgers, pasta dishes, nachos, a curry and fried ‘chicken’ meals. The Breakfast Burger, A$18.90, is very good.
Store open every day 8 am to 5 pm. Café open and beverages available until 3 pm. Lunch menu 11 am to 3 pm.
The food here is spectacular! We have been regularly coming here since 2017 & we always get gr8 service & awesome meals. Our 1hr 30min drive is always worth it!
Awesome Cafe with heaps of delicious options to eat and drink. Very cosy and pretty inside. The waffles and breakfast burger were great!
Just popped in for coffee which was fine but the place has an odd setting split between a vegan supermarket and an indoor seating area. As a result, staff busy rushing about one end to the other. Also got questioned by a gent (presumably the owner) about whether we needed the cutlery laid out for us. A slightly odd customer experience.
Great selection of vegan goods and a great place to grab a bite to eat as well, savoury or sweet.
The dish I ordered was well thought out with pleasant flavour combinations and was fresh. Unfortunately, the morning I visited the coffee machine was broken, but their juice was brilliant and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this place even to non-vegetarians/vegans.
The place has a wonderful atmosphere, the customer service is exceptional, and the food is the cherry on top. Definitely going back again.
I love the green edge.
This place has the most amazing plant based food in all of Brisbane. Whenever I am in town, I make sure I stop by here.
The shop also has all the goodies you would ever need.
Staff always make you feel welcome and smiling. I miss this place everytime I leave Brisbane. I'll need to move back
Get here! Be a leader of our planet & not only by being vegan but by sharing the experience of this amazing restaurant and great value grocery range that tastes so much better than destroying our earth!
Absolutely loved the Green Edge. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. I had the Vegan Fried Chicken with mash, coleslaw and gravy. It's such a reasonable price and so filling and ridiculously delicious! Highly recommend!
A lot of people love this place, including my partner, but it’s not at all my cup of tea. The main menu is a bit junky and relies on a lot of highly processed fake meats for flavour. The treats in the cabinet are super sickly sweet. It reminds me of an old skool suburban cafe from the 80’s or early 90’s, only vegan, which is great if you like that sort of thing but it’s not for me.
I prefer my vegan food less processed and more farm-to-table like the fare at El Planta or Grown. But if you’re a bit older and want something that reminds you of the old days, without the animal products, this is likely the place for you!
So yummy! Good spot for people who rely on public transport as I didn’t even know it was there, I just hopped off the bus and saw it and thought I have to try this!
Great variety vegan super market fair pricing to plus the cafe has awesome options or if your in a hurry pre prepared wraps and pastries
Great brunch and lunch options, always worth a look in the store before or after for specials on vegan treats. Very welcoming for Meetups:)
The store has such a fantastic range - and it's so easy to shop here knowing everything is safe for a vegan. They have really good discounts on some featured products, and I always walk out with extras I didn't expect to buy when I come in. The coffee is phenomenal here, as are the sausage rolls, pies, and brownies. The neenish tart is also particular favourite of mine. <3 you Green Edge.
Amazing flavour! Incredibly everything is vegan, delicious and with intense flavors. Very good portion of food. Sooo yummy
I've been going to the Green Edge for a few years (spanning its iterations across two sites and a couple of changes of management) and it has consistently been a good option for cruelty free groceries and vegan "fast food" options.
If you’re looking for a cute and affordable date this is it.
Also, FINALLY, somewhere that offers a complete vegan/plant-based menu where you can be confident in what you’re ordering - including gluten-free options! This is something myself and my partner have been looking for, for ages and were so satisfied with our experience. We chose to dine outside, however there’s an entire inside room that can cater for larger groups.
For those that are keen for more than the cafe experience, Green Edge offers a small community store as well with alternative/sustainable products available.
I definitely recommend to my fellow plant-based eaters out there, and highly recommend this cafe as an opportunity for those who are keen to trial or adjust their lifestyle/diets to a more healthy, sustainable, and beneficial way of life.
Thanks for a great experience and EXCELLENT FOOD!
I was very excited to finally visit, especially after seeing the great reviews here. I went with my boss (which is also a chef) and we had a similar opinion about the service & the food.
Food: we had the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings ($12) and the Bowl of chips ($10) to start. The mains were the Pesto Mushroom Fettuccine ($19), Lasagna ($19) and ordered The Big Zing burger (however, we got The Origin ($23) by mistake.
Drink: I had the Snickers Frappe, added Whipped Cream ($10.5)
I'll start by saying that the service wasn't great. I had to go after the waitress (after I gave up on waiting for her to look at us) and ask for salt as the pasta was completely tasteless. I had to add 2 sachets to be able to eat it. TWO. The lasagne was mediocre and the burger looked good although it wasn't the one we ordered. The sauce of the Wings tasted super artificial and the cauliflower was probably frozen. The best things were the bowl of chips and the frappe. I felt sad that such a famous place like this didn't care to put any effort in making fresh food. The dare to say the food just tasted wrong.
I believe that The Green Edge is a great place to have because they have their groceries store and vegan options but OMG. We felt like they stopped in time and stopped putting effort into their dishes and service. Just disappointing. Sadly, I would definitely not go back
