The Fraser Coast Artisan Pasta Bar

Visited this business for an early dinner and, wanting to maximise our experience, selected several sides along with our mains.

I have to be honest and say that we have mixed reviews. The starters were hit-and-miss, with the garlic bread excellent (crunchy and tasty without being oily or soggy), but then the arancini balls lacked flavour (surprisingly accompanied by basil pesto), and the mozzarella sticks were hollow and virtually empty inside. I presume this can happen on occasion, but not on every single stick.

We had similar feelings about the pasta dishes as well. My Puttanesca was really good, with fantastic al dente spaghetti and loaded with ingredients. The plentiful presence of olives, capers and anchovies ensured flavour-overload, and I genuinely enjoyed my meal. My wife however, having selected the Carbonara, was underwhelmed. Without getting into the 'cream or no cream' debate, her dish fundamentally tasted like fettuccine in cream. There was a distinct lack of bacon (tiny pieces), parmesan and parsley, which left little else, other than the chicken pieces and fettuccine itself.

On a positive note, the serves are huge so there is value for money, in that regard. My photos are of the mains served up at home on large dinner plates. Even then, this only accounted for about 2/3 of the serve, meaning leftovers for the next day.

Last but not least, the gent managing both counter service and the ovens was approachable and friendly. The premises is clean and tidy, with a row of booths for in-house dining.

If we did return another day, I think we'd keep it simple and focus purely on the mains, in the hopes of obtaining approval from all parties.

Ate here while on holiday. Carbonara was exquisite and I am a seasoned Carbonara critic and I was thoroughly impressed. Chefs and server were fabulous as well! Will definitely be eating here again next time I’m in Hervey Bay.

Extremely disappointed with the garlic prawns. Only 6 prawns for the large meal. I could have done better at home but with the good reviews I thought I'd give it a go. Never again

First time ordering tonight and all I can say is this will be our new takeaway night go to. The food was amazing and fresh. The service was excellent and the prices and serving side was very good. Well done. We will be back.

Great portion sizes and al dente pasta. Tried almost all the sauce and pasta combos and everythings a winner.

We were hungry for Italian that night. We had been to Santini (good place & food) last time we were in Hervey Bay. The night before we had French at Aegean Waters (also good). My most better half scouted this place on the net, got curious & went there to satisfy our curiosity. The set up was a bit like Fasta Pasta in the early days but the pasta here is something else. We will go for it next time we are up there. We like the business model - no frills just the food. We could find the difference in the pasta here.it taste good. What you see is what you will get & we like what we saw & what we ate. Eating Italian from Melbourne Lygon St to Sydney & Brisbane.this place deserves some attention from us.

Tried the Funghi Trifolati sauce with Casarecce (Large) with Pumpkin & Sage side and it was all mouthwatering delicious! Couldn't have asked for better. Excellent food and service

We went for lunch. The young man behind the counter was polite and very efficient describing the menu and very confident in his product. I've been in restaurants where the people are almost cocky about their food and I come away disappointed at the quality. We ordered the Fungi W/Paperdelle and Garlic, tomato, basil and chili with spaghetti. Both were delish with the pasta cooked to perfection. Good portion size for the money also. The only thing that could have made the meal better was if they had a salad on their menu. We weren't disappointed and we will be back.

Nice quiet restaurant with great atmosphere, friendly owner and staff. Food was amazing and made fresh whilst we waited and even for a small serve it was huge. Highly recommend this establishment
