Tanks Arts Centre reviews
58We went to a comedy revue in Tank 5. The acoustics were fantastic, the bar was well stocked and, although held inside an old tank, the temperature was quite cool. The only downside was the seating, which I sure was provided to ensure you didn't hang around at the end of the show.
Great venue for live performances! Cool, comfy and good sound.always interesting food catering too.
Love this place. Viewed art exhibition at day then saw Dan Sultan at night. Has a lot of different artists coming to play over the year. Tickets are booked online.
We were there for a fish photography exhibition. It's really nice and best of all it's free. You really try very hard to offer something to the people.
The paramedic facilities are very clean and well maintained.
You should definitely take a look.
Always a good show at the tanks. Every time the markets are on I go to check out the current exhebition, last month's PNG contemporary arts was a great showing
Went here for one of the plays recently, it was great. Between the nice atmosphere, a variety of sprawling markets, and great people around, it was a very enjoyable experience. Just note, I saw a free play, so time it took for me to wait wasn't very long. I would still recommend buying tickets in advance though.
Watched Regurgitator & Custard in Tank 5, had a great time.
Only thing wrong was they don't take cash
We love The Tanks Arts Centre and monthly Markets
In the heart of the tropics, surrounded by tropical palms and a local market with a variety of stalls that we love being part of!
We look forward to seeing you again soon ️
A beautiful use of space providing for the arts community. Then head to the information centre cafe great coffee and cakes
Great place to host a market style event. Toilets are a bit if a walk from tank 3 but otherwise great location and very scenic
What a great idea repurposing these huge post WWII oil storage tanks into first class exhibition spaces and entertainment venue. Professionally displayed artworks in spacious buildings close to the botanic gardens and cafes. Perfect!
Great place with a rainforest/tropical vibe. Parking is hard sometimes during events and functions. But worth it.
A great venue for small to medium shows. Have seen many excellent acts here and no disappointments!
Such a unique and versatile venue to have here in Cairns. Lovely setting, great acoustics and a valuable asset for the Cairns community.catch a show, a festival, markets, Art exhibitions and learn some local history! Wonderful!
A uniquely 'quirky' location for a arts and music precinct!
A cosy atmosphere for intimate performance
Tanks Arts Centre is an iconic part of Australia's arts infrastructure. Very special place indeed.
Unfortunately tanks art centre have decided to discriminate against the unvaccinated. I’m really disappointed in this behaviour. We all deserve to be treated as equals.
This won’t stop here. If you give in to these tyrannical mandates we will keep having more and more of our freedoms taken away. Already people that have been vaccinated once are not considered fully vaccinated, so you will be turned away at the doors too.
We’re all in this together guys, it’s time to stand up for your rights.
Tank 4 was the only gallery open today. The exhibit was TAFE student artwork. The artwork had price tags so it looks like you can buy it. It's right near the Botanical gardens. You could make a real day of it - visit the gardens, go to the gallery and then hit up the cafe for lunch
A very interesting place, full of history, I'm starting a guided E-bike tours, taking photos for friends down south
