Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge Society (SCARS) reviews
64These guys do a great job, the love they have for the pets is outstanding, as a society we are lucky unwanted pets have a safe haven, well done
Our favourite organisation of the Sunshine Coast, we are proud to support the work of SCARS, contributing to their new shelter and providing assistance to this outstanding charity. They do amazing work for the cats & doggos of the coast in finding their furever homes!
Very clean facility. Staff super friendly and very helpful and supportive. I was looking for my lost cat, it wasn't here but i was impressed by the new facility.
Doing a great job in the community for our beautiful animals. Where there is love, there is hope. Keep up the wonderful work.
Love this place and what they do. Just made a donation of blankets, dog beds, and coats for the comfort of the doggos and cats at the shelter. If I had room, I'd take another dog. Please community rehome these lovely animals that need loving homes.
I met a few dogs and had a Great experience, But didn't find a dog I was after. But none the less the great staff where very friendly and knowledgeable
Nice and clean animal adoption centre with friendly and helpful staff. Small Shop section at front to purchase products for your current or newly adopted furry friend. Ample parking available
This place really exceeded my expectations - the animals are kept in really nice enclosures (not cages), with toys and stuff to keep them occupied. The staff and volunteers really love them. AND! Did you know they have a really good Op Shop? Check out the cookware section.
Great bunch

Franky
Got our first rescue from here a few weeks ago now, the staff were wonderful, even for volunteers.
Genuinely care about every animal they are looking after and if you are wanting to adopt an animal check these guys out.
Loving Bundy (our girl we adopted).
Haven't visited in ages. It always appears that they would rather you didn't just rock up. I'm sure they have legit reasons. Wish them well.
Our dog was taken off us due to our neighbours ignorance. She is our daughters companion dog and now has to live in a cage. Never answers just ways for them to cover their arses and ways to make money.
I was impressed by the care and attention given to the dogs and cats by the welfare team. Worth supporting the rescue and adopting if you can. Very convenient location on the Sunshine Coast.
Worth a visit if looking for that very special fury member of your family. Devoted staff who love their animals
Sippy Downs animal refuge volunteers all work together as unit, they all deserve a gold medal! - written on Wednesday December 21th 2022.
Like a pet 5 star resort, stunning surroundings, amazing friendly and caring staff. Such a fantastic pet shelter.
A+
Wonderful place with amazing staff and volunteers looking after and caring for the all the cats and dogs at the refuge.
It seems like a great place. They have many beautiful kitties there, and puppers. But, they don't put enough litter in the cat litter boxes. You can see the bottom of the container, there's barely a puddle of actual litter in the box. The cats have to paw the litter into one spot so they can even do their business. Quite a sad sight. Although I suppose it incentivises people to adopt the cats and rescue them from litter-less hell. I never asked the reason why there's such little litter, so I don't want to make assumptions. I'm not sure if its a lack of funding or something like that. Not an expert. Just, please, give the kitties more litter. I'll make sure to bring it up next time I visit!
We adopted our kitten Leroy from SCARS today and we couldn’t recommend them enough! Every staff member we met was so kind and excited for us! Leroy is already so loved and is loving his new forever home?
