Suburban Social Chapel Hill reviews
52 Good range of beers and good food.
Just don’t sit on the bar stools. You might get thrown out!
It's good, but not great, perhaps the best option for a good meal with friends, but certainly would not choose this place if wanting to propose to the girlfriend
Absolutely love coming here. It's perfect on a rainy afternoon at sunset. Oddly specific I know but try it out. Excellent food, tasty cocktails, great staff.
Very good environment, exquisite options of beers and great food. What else could I ask for?
NO NO NO NO NO. Bowl of chips for 9 buks! 17 bucks for two small potato's with some carrot shreds n a few cherry tomato's! Will say stay away at all of time.
We had the fish tacos and the prosciutto wrapped barramundi. Loved both! Great service and food was fantastic
What a wonderful little bar.stumbled across this and think its our new favourite! Lovely atmosphere and staff, amazing selection of craft beer and delicious food! You can tell the staff are passionate about what they do here, and good on them! 10/10 recommend, will definitely be back.
Pricier than the average pub but you're getting what you pay for with chill & friendly staff and delicious modern style dishes as well as an extensive cocktail selection and many local craft brews on tap. Proud to call this spot my local.
Loved it. Funky, casual Melbourne vibe Cafe and bar. Great wines, fantastic food, friendly service and ample parking at the back, off the main road. Outdoor dining area at the rear is dog friendly.
Revisited this place last weekend after a bit of a hiatus. Very pleased to see an update of the menu. I had barramundi and eggplant curry that was delicious. The craft beer and vibe all still very good.
My wife and I have driven past this place many times and have always wanted to visit… that was today … relaxed atmosphere a place you can call your local.we had the popcorn shrimp and a lovely fruity pale ale. Great place for a quite drink with friends.
Been coming here since these guys opened, will always keep coming back. Food and alcohol selection is always great. The owners have put a lot of work into maintaining this place, the menu, and the atmosphere. So happy to have this as our little local.
After 30 minutes our food didn't arrive. When we checked, we're told it went to another table, and then waited another 10 to 15 minutes for a replacement.
No heaters by the outside tables, so quite cold on a cool evening
Great little bar, if you're looking for a comfy bar for a few drinks talking with friends this is highly recommended. Great vibe and very happy, helpful staff. We arrived late, staff welcomed us and told us kitchen was closed but helped us with a few drinks to relax and see out the night.
Nice atmosphere.
Background noise is average for those who struggle with that.
Limited menu, so, if you have allergies, you probably won't eat.
It does say if you have allergies, just ask, and I got an annoyed response about my inconvenience for the need to check ingredients. Once checked, I couldn't eat it, and the attitude became massively rude. Maybe she was having a bad day. No excuse.
Won't be going back.
Having heard good things in the past and living in the area but neither me nor my mates had been ever been, we were keen to finally tend the Suburban Social. The beer was good, so was presentation and the friendliness and speed of the staff. But the food was the reason we came there, and it was very disappointing.
The downside was when we ordered 3 burgers with chips, all 3 came to us soggy and made an awfully large mess by the time we finished them, the chicken barely covered the burger (on the chicken burger ordered), and the chips were easily the softest chips I've ever been served, and not even warm. They took their time to be made as well but that's not much of a complaint after the state of the food. Very much disappointed.
For reference it was a not overly busy night attendance.
If I could give half a star I would. I ordered a $39.00 medium cooked rump steak and what came to me as indicated in the photo below was far from that. It was overdone and extremely thin. Would not recommend you order this meal. Extremely disappointed. Steak chewy. One small carrot and a piece of overcooked broccolini. Three small prawns probably frozen. Don’t put steak on the menu if you don’t know how to cook it. At least they gave me a refund when I spoke to staff.
What they do, they do well. It has an interesting layout with two tables out the front, some indoor seating in front of the bar and kitchen, then there is a courtyard out the back with plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas to provide some cover. Definitely try and get a seat out the back if the weather is nice.
Great food. Lots of different places to sit inside or outside and a cute little beer garden out back. Service excellent. We had a late lunch.
One of rhe best pubs around here. The beer is always great and the food exceptional. Staff are really helpful too
