Springwood Doctors Dennis Road Medical

I absolutely love Dr Madeleine Carstens - she is absolutely fantastic and second to none - HOWEVER the elderly lady at the reception counter (with her light blue uniform on) was the total opposite. Just rude and obnoxious! She didn't want to be there or to deal with people. Please for the sake of the centre - she should just retire instead of tarnishing the centre. I feel sad to have to give a 1 star because Dr Carstens is just amazing - but the centre really needs to address this staff member. Its just not ok. Shame on you.

The worst bedside manner by a certain Doctor. Asked for melatonin compound tablets which ive had before as they are so much cheaper and wouldnt give me a script as they had to be normal and are three times the price at over $200 instead of $60 compound.absolute stupidity.

Dr McDougall is a wonderful skin cancer specialist. The stitches were so perfect the scar is barely visible.

Iv seen Dr Julie-Ann Usher quite a few times and then on the last appointment I had I asked for for a course of antibiotics for a abscess she barely explained anything before jumping down my throat and being very condescending for even explaining to her that she didn't even look at the abscess properly she was to busy poking at it to intentionally hurt my swelling and looking at me to argue absolutely nothing, everything I asked her was responded rudely and going in circles, she even walked me through to the bathroom to make me look in the mirror my self where she then started to show me my own tooth swelling and poked at again aggressively. This service was absolutely fowl. She didn't attend to the issue with patience and respect at all. I wouldn't recommend this Dr because she appears to have passive aggressive tendency with clients from my experience and did not show sympathy as expected from previous appointments.

Such a lovely practice with a homely feel. There is a skin cancer clinic too which makes life much easier only having to go to one place.

Dr Bradley has seen me for over 20 years. I have long since moved away from the area but still drive to see him because he is both a caring and careful practitioner.

Fantastic knowledgeable doctors who don't try to rush you out the door! The staff are also very friendly and always eager to help.

Dr Madeleine Carstens and the staff at Dennis Road Medical are just wonderful. I have been to many doctors over the years but have never met one as caring, compassionate and knowledgeable as Dr Carstens. I can't rate and the Dennis Road Medical Centre her high enough.

My first and last encounter with a GP in Australia.

Last year I visited due to concerns and where I was desperate for answers hence why I thought to visit this clinic without Medicare as I had recently moved from NZ. I had Dr Suntha Suthasarn as it was already a red flag knowing that female reproductive system is literally bloody taboo from where he’s from. I explained to him my symptoms yet he was 110% convinced I had an STI’s when I was more certain that I was clean as I was Mother Virgin Mary since I had taken tests before I moved here.

I felt victimised and pressured to take a $50 test that I couldn’t afford during the time and it would usually be covered by Medicare but I didn’t have it. I informed him that I can’t afford it, fighting him on this that lead me to tears. All Dr Suthasarn could do was tell me to follow him to the bathroom holding a specimen cup yet kept reminding me how it was not accurate as the swabs. I felt defeated and felt weak as I just laid there like a roast chicken. I asked him what may be the issue if results turn out negative, he couldn’t tell me.

As I paid, the nurse who was assisting him saw that I was extremely upset, but even Stevie Wonder would have been able to tell. All she could do was refer me to an Asian female nurse for “next time” I visit. I paid my $130 bill and got informed I’ll get a call by next week and I left in tears.

A week later I did not recieve a call so I called the medical centre for my STI results and the nurse crudely tells me my results are negative.

I would have rather have all the STI’s listed than to not know what was wrong with me after all that trauma and expense. If I wanted my time wasted and to donate my $130 to a medical centre to tell me there’s nothing wrong then I’d rather donate to McDonalds.

Tl;dr: Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life with a doctor. Unfortunately it’s the first and the last as they could not be more succinct that they did not care for my health or wellbeing and concerns.

I have seen both Dr Carstens and Dr Bradley at this practice and both were highly experienced caring practitioners. I've always felt like my circumstances and history have been well considered when seeking treatment at Dennis Road Medical.

The doctors and staff have always been kind and caring to myself and family. Could not recommend Dennis Road highly enough.

This is a disgraceful practice. If you want a cosmetic touch up perhaps give it a go but as for actual medical attention, the staff and doctors presnted as a hapless bunch of work experience clowns. Previously they had a doctor working there who was on sexual assault charges which really shows them to be a place to avoid. Treated me appallingly when i went there. Wasted my time and then demanded I change the post I put up about them. One star is way too generous. If I could rate them as minus 1 I would.

I made an appointment with Dr Carstens at least 3 weeks in advance, turned up for my appointment and waited 70 mins. I was not acknowledged once during this entire time and ended up going to the counter to cancel my appointment because I simply couldn't wait any longer. I have been going to this doctor for at least 15 years and I am sad to say I will never go back, the service is below standard and for a Dr that doesn't bulk bill I would expect a lot more.

I can't fault the medical and office staff at the Dennis Road medical centre. Over the years whether it be periodical medical checkups, skin cancer inspections or ongoing medical problems i have always been treated with compassion and in a professional way.

Dr Bradley & the entire staff have been faultless & fantastic every time. This is the type doctors you used to see as a kid. They care, they know what they're doing & they follow through.

Dr Karen Chai is one of the best GPs I have met. She is very caring, she always asks alot of questions to understand the situation and my infant daughter loves her. I trust her advise always as she double checks a lot of information on a database, and I think this is great! I always prefer a doctor that double checks information rather than 'guesses' with my family's health. Great job Karen!
