Silk Design Construct - Affordable Building and Construction Services

We had engaged Silk to help with a small project which was overtaken by a bigger problem in another part of the property. They were very understanding in allowing a termination of the contract.

Wow. What a team Silk Design were. They were extremely reasonably priced. There were no hidden extras and the service spot on. All staff that I came in contact with were more than helpful. They were polite and so obliging. In this day and age, this was very refreshing to find. I can recommend them very highly.

Silk Design and Construct did an amazing job on our extension and two story build. The detail was incredible - people have described it as a work of art. I have just had a whole house renovation in Noosa Waters with SDC and this was the worst experience I have had with any builder. SDC never failed to underwhelm or disappoint us. I would not recommend SDC to anyone. SDC was threatening and swore at us as clients, were condescending and tried to use intimidation if they did not get their way. I wanted to share quotes, however these breached review guidelines. When asked if they were on track to meet their timeline they had communicated to me, SDC threatened to walk off site, and then came back that it might be “a few weeks, a few months, or next year, who knows. ” I felt Silk did not take ownership over their work and become very defensive if something was wrong, trying to find someone else to blame. In my opinion, this is a very unprofessional company and I would not recommend SDC to anyone.attached are some photo's of how our renovation was handed over to us.

I can not thank Silk Design Construct more for their amazing work on my house extension they did for me last year! My nerves went out the window with how professional and friendly they are! Everything went so smoothly and all the staff (trades) are so amazing! I love inviting people over to my house now as it has been transformed into the perfect home! Silk Design & Construct completely rebuilt our kitchen in a different location, added a media room, decks to the front and back of our house as well as a fly-over roof. From start to finish, the team involved was extremely professional, easy to talk with regarding any issues or changes we made along the way and were full of great advice and suggestions too! The team at Silk brought our design ideas to reality and we couldn't be more happy with the final result. Cheay's attention to detail and high expectations end in a superior quality renovation. We would recommend Silk Design & Construct without hesitation.

Built a structural retaining wall without any prior engineering or planning approval and it encroached the neighbours boundary. I’ve been left in a legal dispute with my neighbour and it’s cost tens of thousand to put right. Silk Design and Construct washed their hands with it and refused to put matters right. QBCC was involved and has found them guilty of asking for excess deposits and not supplying a contract. Do your research on the QBCC and their license number.
Be very careful and do not take their word that they will supply the necessary paperwork to build because they did not in our case. Beware!

From the beginning, Silk Design and Construct were a great team to work with. Cheay and Daniela were very generous with their time during the planning process of our renovation, in person and via phone and email. Any questions we had were addressed promptly and professionally. Silk Builders were contracted to add a two bedroom extension to our existing residence. The work was done in a very professional manner, sending us progress pictures when we were unable to visit the site. All aspects of the build were covered by Silk and any hiccups we encountered were dealt with efficiently. I personally would recommend this company for a quality, on time job.
