Best fish and chips for miles! Coffee is good but only in disposable cups; food is usually prompt even when very busy.

What an epic bunch of humans, and outstanding hot chips. Thank you for being such a breath of fresh air in a world desperately in need of it

When you spend $60 on dinner you would at least expect it to be cooked.
Chips were undercooked I guess that's inflation for you a simple $20 meal is a fortune won't make that mistake again

Just arrived at 6-10 on Tuesday to be at ignored by staff and after stand there for 10 min with no service, just left. Isn’t customer service part of your job.

I was very disappointed in the food especially the fish, frozen and teenagers running it with dirty oil and everything over cooked, when you mention it you have a 15yr old girl talking to you like garbage

Have being going to Shelley Inn for over 40years or more and always the best Fish and Chips in Brisbane.
Not this afternoon but! $62 Dollars for food that was so salty that we couldn't eat it.
The Barra was under cooked and batter all stuck to paper. Calamari rubbery, Pineapple Fritters only had coating on one side, burnt and so much oil that when lifted up paper bag they were in it fell all apart from all the oil.
The Staff 3 Boys who were more interested in discussing what they would do when they finished work than helping customers and cooking food. Also the 1 Girl that was also supposedly working was only interested in her mobile.
Have recommended the shop to so many people but never again so disappointed with service and food.
You have definitely lost a long time customer. I have never ever written a bad review on any business I have visited so that should tell you just how bad todays food and service was.
Maybe owner needs to be at business to give staff so general training if he wants to keep the excellent reputation Shelkey Inn use to have.

Many happy memories of bringing my daughter to this lovely cafe & the creek side for holiday & weekend fish & chips. The historic building has been beautifully cared for & is now filled with wonderful local art

Was disappointed with quality of food oil was very stail and you could not eat food, staff was awesome putty food was not equally nice

Really friendly service and good coffee, seafood selection looked amazing, will have to come back and try it.
Outlook is nice too, can even see planes about to land at Brissie Airport

Overpriced and unhealthy. On holidays you learn at the time to pay that there is something like a 10% surcharge on all listed prices.

A frequent diner we came there on Boxing Day public holiday and found it not to the usual standard. Dry and cold calamari and dry cod… a bit of a disappointment considering the fabulous experiences we have had before. Perhaps an off day, hope it’s not the usual standard now as the location is perfect.

Friendly service fast order turnaround. Very good fish and chips food has improved since my last visit it was top knotch.

Why have the staff been told "The boss has told us not to give out the wi-fi password"? What the? Obviously stuck in 1972. Very underwhelming experience. The seafood basket. $22.was pretty dry.chips were fine.tomato ketchup was an extra $1.00 per (small) container. Food was hot (I ate 'in house') but it felt rather unfriendly. Food looked rather unappealing.and dry, but it was indeed tasty.does it hurt to add a bit of coleslaw or at least tomato sauce? I guess it is all down to perception. But perception is reality.and this was 'Meh'.

I was a big fan of the Shelly Inn up until our last two visits which left us somewhat disappointed.

- We ordered 3 meals and were somewhat amazed to find they all came wrapped as one huge meal.

- The chips were soggy and didn't taste good at all, think the oil needed changing.

Arrived a little earlier than expected, weren't quite ready for business, and being a Friday morning, suspect weekends would have more ambience, but was nice, down side is, to much disposable wrap and condiment containers for dine in, they could save by not using

Foods great, service needs work, don’t answer their phone & guy on the counter doesn’t listen… who forgets the chips when you order fish n chips…? Terrible experience!

Well presented fish and chips, friendly staff, prompt service, had take away in park beside seaside, a great experience, prices reasonable.

Beautifully grilled Snapper. Shared a salad. Quick service. Top noch! Thank you for a beautiful meal.

Unfortunately the service and quality has dropped dramatically in the last few months.

A 15 minute wait for sub standard milkshakes after receiving the food part of our order during a not busy period was a low light.
