Shapland Swim Schools - Carindale reviews
6Wonderful swim school - great communication and lovely swim instructors. My son gets so excited about his lessons!
We've been with this school for almost 1.5 years since the baby turned 7 or 8 months. I must say I'm not happy with her progress, but also with the fact that there's no clear understanding of what a child should be able to achieve at what age and after this much of training. It is just not clearly communicated and you always kind of have this uncertainty floating around. There's no clear learning path. Neither we got any feedback on her progress, basically similar sort of issue.
Another concern is that even after this much time with them we couldn't get a time slot we wanted, after expressing our interest in a particular time as early as we could every time we had such possibility, eg new year enrollment. Every other lesson our daughter is sleepy because it's her sleep time and thus doesn't really follow the teachers instructions.
On the positive side, staff are friendly and kind.
When we started out here we had the most amazing swim instructor who left then it was all down hill from here. My child was so traumatised after being thrown into the pool (no exaggeration) by an instructor because he didn't understand a question she asked (he is 3) he was so traumatised we had to change schools and he has gone from loving swimming to being traumatised. When we unenrolled the owner didn't even ask why. I would not recommend this centre.
Shapland’s Carindale have taught my son how to swim wonderfully and we will be ever grateful for this. It’s a humble little school and family owned. I would like a large sign to be on the road side of the building as it’s hard to find the first time for most people. Good instructors and small classes of 3 kids.
The actual lessons and facilities are good but I found they don't value their customers. Staff are rude here, not just to me but everyone. The lady swim school instructor did not really seem to like kids and had a fake positive attitude with long sharp nails and tickling my boy without asking him. After one lesson I won't be returning. The attitude of the male receptionist seems rude like all he cares about is money and wanting us out the door. Shapland at Alex Hills a couple of years ago were never this rude. Sorry but customer sevice sucked. They seemed like they were nice but you could tell they just wanted you out the door so they could make more money. I walked out feeling like branded livestock not a human being.
