My two children have flourished and have become confident swimmers under the guidance of Matt and his team. A caring and professional team all round.

This swimming school is the worst I've ever seen. I'm generally reluctant to give negative reviews for business, but this one has touched my limit line. I don't know how other parents give such high reviews. I initially want to find a swimming school for my children for a long terms, and I talked them on the phone, the normal operation is to try the class first, and then the parent decides whether to continue or not, but the email they sent me was to guide us to enroll directly, even we are haven’t visited yet and don’t know anything about the centre, they don’t care and I proposed to pay for the trial class. They use excuses blocked back, and then there were emails one after another asking us to download the app and pay for it and there were various terms they made by themselves, and didn’t see whether the consumer agreed or not just pushing for pay and enrolled through the email and also one month advance notice, that is enforced consumers ‘making decision just started from I gave a phone call, and also the misleading selling service emails for paying with Terms & Conditions. Long emails also who takes much time to look at it, why doesn’t do this important statement face to face?

My child went to a class once, my little one didn't want go there anymore. After that, they kept sending us emails urging payment. We pay the $130.20 include the deposit and just for one visited. (two children totally of 40 minutes). Not all families are willing to accept your unfair terms. After this class we had unhappy experience, we felt that was not what we expected at all.

The Swimming school which my little one doesn’t like it at all, I don't like it either, cold water showers, a 20-minute class, the same price with other swim school with 30 minutes and better facilities, the child cried in the pool for 15 minutes, of course we unsatisfactory to it, and all payment methods do not ask for the customer's conditions, just make a monthly payment method, did not tell us this information in front of the counter, and series credit account settings confirm in the counter. But just guided us and complete the payment by the incorrect email. It's simply a fraud to consumers. Normal swimming schools don't operate like this. The cost is high too. If you have good facilities and teaching skills, it may be fine. The problem is that there are too many imperfect operations that we cannot trust you. Without careful checking and sent out the wrong invoice, the price is scribbled inside. We can’t make it. It is not easy for everyone during the epidemic, but doesn’t care about the consumers feeling of making money, just try to urge consumers to pay, and make the so-called unfair conditions for consumers. This is completely agains the ACCC laws which protecting our consumers rights. They don’t know how to solve the problem but just by sending me email and pushing me pay the invoice, that’s disgusting operation.

Shapland Swim School have been absolutely wonderful for us! Our three children only started regular attendance this year (7,4 &3yrs old) and due to isolating and surgeries etc it's been a challenge to get out. These guys noticed that, put all three children in at the same time, in two seperate classes, and made an early class available so we could be there whilst maintaining reduce risk of sickness. All three children are much more confident in the water and this is one of the highlights of their week.
Anne has been our main teacher, and has been a consistent and knowledgeable instructor. We have a child with a severe medical condition which makes these things hard. But Anne was asking all the right questions kept her safe and let me know if there was anything off whilst in the pool.
Thanks to Aleko, Anne, Emma (who copped my daughters screams at the start!), and the rest of the team for your support and contribution to our children's little "bubble" of isolation life:)

Within a matter of weeks our son has gone from screaming and crying, to running in excited for his lesson. Through patience and finding ways to relate to him, the teachers have quickly made him comfortable, confident and eager to learn more.

So glad I found this great swim school via word of mouth. At first I thought 20mins may not be enough but for the little ones it does get pretty tiring! Great teachers with a maximum ratio of 1: 3 in a heated pool. I personally don’t like fully covered indoor pools as the fumes and stuffiness really gets uncomfortable, but this pool is outdoors, fully covered with side covers which prevents cold wind while allowing enough air circulation. Best thing is also my child is learning how to “save” herself if she was to fall into the pool by accident, as well as learn to swim.

This is a great swim school. Both of our boys love their lessons and their teachers! After moving from another swim school, Miss Glenny was fantastic at settling the boys into their new lessons. The boys also love their lessons with Miss Emma and Miss Anne.

We have attended Shapland Swim School at Stretton for the last 6 and a half years. My boys have attended since there were both 6 months old.
Both my boys are very confident swimmer's and as parents we have peace of mind knowing they can swim and they know to find the edge of the pool if they fall in.
My 4 year old has really come a long way learning his freestyle stroke in the last few months.
The teachers are all very friendly and the kids have both loved all of them. They listen when the parents have a concern.
Learning to swim was not negotiable for my children, especially having a pool at our home, and Shapland had been a great place for them to learn.

The team of instructors are good. However the back up instructor Ann was brilliant! You can generally tell if someone has a "worker's mindset" or they actually do enjoy teaching. The one that enjoys teaching would put in more effort into little things. And it's those little things that counts. <3

Great individualised lessons without the chaos and noise of a full pool. Kids learn so much more in a small class and it really helps their confidence.

We have been enjoying this swimming school until last week when the heat pump failed and only got fixed in the morning hence the water was still cold when our baby started the class. Our little one (and the other baby) had to be pulled out from the pool as their lips started becoming pale. We asked the account department whether they can provide credit towards next month invoice instead of giving us make up lessons as we both worked full time and we won't be available for any make up lesson (even with the extended timeframe given). They said we do not foresee the failure of the heat pump and was unwilling to provide any credit (only make up lesson was offered). As everyone paid one month in advance and the class is well over $20 each, I consider my request to be very reasonable as this is the failure of the business to provide adequate facility to conduct the class. Instructors there are great though, but the way the business handled our account is just a disgrace.

UPDATED 02/10/2020 - phone call from Chris advising a credit will be applied to our account.matter resolved.

This school is a disgrace. After my two children had attended at the school for nearly 10 years, having paid thousands of dollars in fees, always paying immediately upon receiving their invoices, buying presents for the teachers from my children, missing numerous lessons and not using the make-up lessons, I was hounded for months for payment of a $76 fee because I chose to leave the school by giving two weeks notice instead of four. There is no way the school was out any money with two weeks notice being provided. They had plenty of time to fill my children's spot which I have no doubt was filled almost immediately upon me providing the notice. Not only that, but over the years I have referred many others to the school, and my cousin who was only a few days short of providing four weeks notice when she stopped her children attending, was hounded and chased for a $4 payment! To make matters worse, I was basically called a thief for refusing to pay the $76. I ultimately made the payment after being threatened with a debt collection service. Absolutely shocked that the school would treat a customer of nearly 10 years in this way. Their only concern is for fees. Would not recommend to anybody.

3 of my boys have their first class today. My second was extremely scared of water before the class. Now, god, they keep repeating, asking me that are they going back to swim again or can they go to swim after that class. Intructors are very gentle, patience and professional.

My daughter has been attending Shapland Swim School at Stretton since she was 10mths old and we love it here. (she is now 2). She loves her lessons and instructor. We love the flexibility of the makeup lessons as my daughter is often unable to attend her regular class. The fact that there are only 3 children per class is an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Great swimming school. Although classes are 20 minutes duration, kids really learn and enjoy every minute. Clean magna pool, convenient location and easy app to manage make up lessons. My favourite teachers are Ann, Aleko and Michelle. Great way to develop a skill for life

I have been to a couple of swim schools for my girls. Shapland’s Stretton is the one I 100% recommend to anyone that’s looking for a place for their kids to learn. I saw a massive improvement with my children’s skills and the care that the staff take to get kids over their fears of the water is life changing.
I’m constantly getting people commenting on how well my children can swim thanks to the lessons at Shapland’s with the small classes.
Make up lessons are a god send for those times when the kids are sick or we are away which makes me feel like we are getting good value for money.
If I could go back I’d have started my children with Shapland’s from the beginning of their learning to swim.

Shapland's experienced swim instructors are patient & kind with the children, which is so important when the children are feeling a little unsure of the water. With only 3 children per class, my son receives the attention he needs to learn this life saving skill.

Have had issues with other swim schools - felt like my child was squeezed into lessons with 8 kids and wasn’t learning much and teachers kept changing at other schools. Then I found shapland and it has been amazing. My 3 year old is so much more confident and loves his swim classes. Highly recommend.

My son has been swimming since 5 months old with Stretton. From the first lesson he has loved it. The staff are excellent and the program is excellent for babies as we can really see his swimming developing. The way he has been taught works as the babies spend the full lesson time in the water that makes a huge difference. At 8 months old he is now anticipating when he is falling in the water and can be under the water for a couple of seconds. Can't recommend them more and their flexible / online booking system is so easy and great to catch lessons on.
