Shapland Swim Schools - Taigum

I had my almost 3 year old in swimming lessons here and they were okay, but I don’t believe were stimulating or engaging enough for his age.
I felt like he never was progressing in his skills.
One of the instructors said he could move up a class and I spoke to the manager who was very condensing & wouldn’t move him up.

I since have moved to another swimming centre/company and in the six weeks my son has learnt so many skills, is in the pool without me & cant wipe the smile off his face because they make the classes fun!

I would recommend that the classes are more fun, interactive & exciting.

We had a terrible experience with this swim school, not only the instructor change every class on the same day and time, I have discussed over phone that we won't be available post Feb first week for which they said to send an email what I sent an email, I received a call one week after I sent an email.when I requested a refund that they over charged for 3 additional classes since I have paid the invoice (they kept sending SMS a$15 late added if the invoice is not paid on time) I will have to use the class and they don't refund my deposit. They can't provide classes either saying no spot available on the days.

Coming back to swim class experience, the instructor is not even approachable and not even encouraging the child, the child absolutely refused to get on the pool after the second class. The worst
experience we have had. We will make sure to pass the word around on how they just take the money, I lost 5 classes because 1. They refuse to refund 3 classes and make up classes are never scheduled saying check the app 'all the time' for cancelled classes. I don't know about t he e previous reviews suggesting they're good but they are the worst.they don't deserve one Star as well.

Thanks Terri for your great work and perseverance with our two kids. They absolutely love their time in the pool and have come such a long way in a short period of time.

Terri is a very experienced teacher. We are so glad we continued the lessons with Shapland swim school. So happy to see my son enjoying every lesson and building his confidence.

My son has been going to Shapland Swim School at Taigum since he was 4 months and he loves it so much. He is now 3 and half years old and loves going swimming knowing that Asper is there (his favourite teacher who is so gentle and kind). Terri and the staff are so incredible, very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend this school to anyone who hasn't found the one!

My son has been going for about 6 months and loves it! Only a Max of three to one teacher and the ladies are brilliant!

We have been going to Shapland Taigum for the past 2 years and highly recommend it. The classes are a perfect size and the instructors are so friendly and patient.

My 5 year old son had a fear of the water and swimming due to his experiences from the previous swimming school. When we started lessons last year, we were extremely nervous. However, his swimming instructor Connor was so patient, kind, and excellent that my son looks forward to attending his lessons because Connor has made it so enjoyable for him which has been so rewarding. Thank you Connor and Karen for all that you have done.

While the class size is great, if you are a full-time working there are no times for make-up classes. Very disappointed in the lack of flexibility for when babies are ill (alot of the time)

Staff at Taigum is wonderful.takes efforts in coaching. My son 5 yrs who just started learning but was out of his fear in no time and now he loves it. Only drawback is a bit expensive but still feel it is worth the money with semi-private lessons.

We are so lucky to have found Karen and the team at Taigum. All three of our children have had such a positive, fun experience of learning to swim and were very aware of pool safety and their own abilities from a young age. Highly reccommend!

Both our sons have attended Shapland Taigum since they were 6 months old and we have been extremely happy! Apart from all the teachers being knowledgable and engaged, our top two points are:
1) The app for booking makeup classes works really well. Kids being sick is a parenting reality so the makeup program helps to not feel like we are wasting money.
2) Indoor pool and observation room for parents. Air-conditioning for the observation room in summer then heat lamps in the bathroom with showers make all round swimming lessons enjoyable.

We have been coming to Shaplands at Taigum for about 8 years now and cannot recommend highly enough! As a kid I myself learned at Shaplands Redcliffe so it was an easy decision to put our kids through the same program. Both our kids have loved all the teachers they have had throughout the years and are now confident swimmers. Thanks for teaching our kids such a valuable skill they will have for life.

Shapland Swim School Taigum is the best place for learn to swim or stroke correction classes. Our experience has been positive & worthwhile. The small classes, personalised lessons & genuine interest in each child makes Shapland stand out as a Swim School. I highly recommend the Team at Shapland.

We have been attending Shapland Swim school at Taigum for the past 4 years. We have found all of the swimming instructors to be fantastic. They are not only extremely patient but also so knowledgeable. The make up lessons are easy to book, with loads of slots available to chose from. We would highly recommend Karen and the team at Shapland Taigum!

Great swim school, very flexible with changing times and cancelling/make up lessons. My girl loves it and all the teachers she's had there.
