Sandstone Point Hotel

Yesterday we went for lunch and we were told there was a 45 minute wait on meals. We were happy with that and got our buzzer and waited. About 50 minutes later we went and asked whether our meals were ready as there had been an issue with the buzzer on a previous visit. The meals weren’t ready so we continued to wait and went back after another 20 or so minutes to find the meals had been sitting there and the buzzer hadn’t sounded. We were informed that we were probably too far away for the buzzer to sound? We were in fact very close to the counter. Our food ended being very dry because the meals had sat there for some time with no one following up on the situation

We went to the restaurant for dinner whilst down for our Christmas holiday. We were sat outside and the sandflies were terrible, no offer for mosquito spray or candles/bug zappers. Along with that we had rats at our feet all night picking up food scraps and running across our feet. The bar staff were not helpful when trying to get a simple lemonade, had to ask 5 times before the order got through to them.

Beautiful spot for any occasion. Lovely food. Only thing is not able to order coffee or drinks with food orders. Have to queue at 2 different places

This is a nice location for drinks but the food is not good. We have now been there twice due to the convenience, once at Christmas and again this week.
Both occasions not good, Lamb was very chewy, The seafood platter is $78 and it should be under starters, as it is ridicules what you actually receive.
Oysters were very bad, the smell of one nearly made our children sick on the table it was that off. (how the chief didn’t identify this is, is beyond me)
Never do reviews, but I couldn’t let this go. Not a good experience twice do not recommend at all.

Very overpriced and disappointing meals. Overcooked barramundi with no flavour, Rib meal was 50% fat, potatoes not cooked. Salad was delicious. First time visitors for a holiday date night, we were disappointed. Gorgeous setting and views but so expensive and just not worth it. We had a better meal, value and taste and serving sizes, at a local pub. This is a place that we always wanted to visit, so we did, now we know we won't go back.

I was dissatisfied with the service at the bar. I arrived with 2 of my friends.we ordered 1 cold drink and 2 hot drinks and we were told it will be a little while for the hot drinks as 1 staff member had called in sick.well that's not my problem.this is a multimillion dollar establishment and it appears that saving money is more important than providing great service. I think for such an establishment to run on minimal staffing is highly inappropriate.where does customer service fit in here.we ordered a second round of the same and had to wait the half hour or so to get these same drinks for the second time.not good for business.they need to rethink their priorities.it's not acceptable to keep someone waiting for 30 minutes for a hot drink 2 times in a row.

Absolutely rubbish service. Ignored completely by 3 staff members when waiting to order, then told off for stating my disappointment to a senior staff member. Unfortunately not the first time I’ve encountered average service and food at this venue. Don’t waste your time

I visited this establishment last Saturday night with some friends. I'm in a wheelchair and as I was entering they pulled me aside and told me that I had to stay in certain areas, because in their words, "I would get in the way". This is straight up discrimination and pretty disgusting that in this day and age this is still an issue. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!

Excellent everytime, wonderful establish everything you could want in a beach pub and more, the place is huge and is a must do everything is done exceptional inside plus the food and drinks are amazing in every bar and food venue. The holiday park /resort is next store to the pub and is perfect for a weekend bender or just a chilled stay and a few nice nights and days at the hotel itself.

First time there, really nice relaxing place to visit, also I was lucky had $400 profit on the slots on the way out, definitely will return.

Great venue, massive and beautiful location.for lack of better words a wedding factory. Couldn't help but feel its not the most intimate weddings.

I ordered the house made chicken parmigiana for lunch at the hotel a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, when I arrived home a few hours later I become incredibly ill. I can only put this down to the chicken potentially being undercooked, as I didn't eat or drink anything else that day that could have caused me becoming so ill.

A great hotel, friendly and genuine staff, good beer and drink choices and great specials. The food is superb and the location sublime on the shores of Pumistone passage. Plus, I won a meat tray there once.

Beautiful setting and atmosphere; outstanding food & above all - extraordinary service! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We'll be back for sure.

Stopped in for lunch with the misso they have cc on tap #winning and had a palmy and they didn't put it on top of the chips #winning again would definitely recommend cheers Pedro

We came up here for yet another festival.hoping the service and prices had improved. Nice people working there, but ridiculous prices - $3 per oyster at an Oyster Festival? What the? Food vendors were disorganised and once again Hotel Mgmt was all about the almighty dollar instead of their patrons.

On Saturday the 20th of November 2021 a group of us went for a meal. We waited for 40 minutes to get the meal which we didn't mind because they were busy. When the meal arrived, the 4 burgers that were ordered were all undercooked. We brought this to attention to the staff who were very apologetic and the manager offered free drinks for the people effected and to redo the meal. 3 of us did not want to eat anymore but 1 did. The meal came back also undercooked. We sent the meal back and the staff came up and apologized and gave us a $10 note, not even the price of a meal. We left after paying over $80 for inedible meals

Awesome location. Oysters are amazing and fresh. Drink range is excellent. Food range is good to above average but the meal I had was below average. So go for the view and stay for the drinks.and the oysters.

Great setting, extensive menu. A bit disappointed as my orderwas not correct and came back wrong a second time. By the time I got my Neal it was a bit cold as well It was busy and up to 40 min wait for meal which is a bit of a rush when you only have your table for 2hrs. We were a birthday party of 12 and had to rush the cake cutting and tea and coffee at the end. I have eaten here before and was not as rushed and no problems with orders.
