RSPCA Op Shop - North Tamborine reviews
5Absolute gem of a place! Am considering a sneaky revisit this weekend as last weekend picked up two designer dresses (name withheld) dresses never worn and in pristine condition…. $38 total! Absolute bargain and so delighted! Left feeling well and truly on top of the Mountain!
The ladies who work here are so friendly and it's always nice to drop in.
I have a 'fetish' for antique, embroidered, cotton pillow cases and cushion covers so I will always pop into an opshop on the off-chance of finding such 'treasures'. I've therefore popped into many, many opshops in my time on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and in Toowoomba too where our daughter lives. However, this is by far the quaintest, prettiest and most beautifully presented op shop I have ever seen. And yes I struck gold with a gorgeous crisp, white, cotton pillow case that was both embroidered and had Italian Punto tagliato (cut-work) in blue and a cut-work white cushion cover too. $5 and $4 respectively. Stoked! What a delightful and well cared for place with smiling staff and a sunny atmosphere. Thank you.
We have been to this Op shop few times, and it was always well presented and had a good variety of stock, but on our last visit we met JACOB the volunteer, and we were very pleasantly surprised with his friendly, but professional and helpful manner. He acknoleges people when they walk in, and makes you feel welcome with his approach and help. Many paid staff in other shops could take the good example from JACOB. And as we were paying for our purchases, in our brief conversation I told Jacob we were on Mt Tambourine as our daughter who had a birthday that day, wanted to celebrate up there with us. Jacob reached out for a lovely small Heart decoration and handed it to my daughter, and wished her a happy birthday. It was so unexpected, and the 5 of us were speech less, with Jacobs kind act, we were trying to return it but Jacob told her to keep it and wished her a happy birthday. That genuine act of kindness is very rare in todays world, so thank you Jacob, your parents should be very proud of you, as you are only a young person, and already learned a valuable lesson, to treat people with genuine kindness and respect.
