I won't buy here again as they refused to take cash. They can make up all the excuses they like but cash is legal tender.

Probably a nice garden centre, but arrived there this morning with wallet full of cash to be welcomed by a "no cash" sign. Turned straight around and left

Hard to get service. Went at a quiet time, staff busy on phone or gossiping to each other to offer help or acknowledge me. Dissapointing. Nice roses collection though.

Plants are of good quality, and staff share their knowledge with customers if needed. Plus, cafe 63 has an affordable menu and great coffee and service.

Had lunch today food was very disappointing no cutlery offered for my husband he had to get his own. Then when we went to pay the girl didn’t know what we had. I would not recommend this place.

Bought 8 plants. Realised I had doubled up on 1 plant less than 2 hours later but they would not exchange. Also quite rude in the process. Also no offer of help getting the 8 plants to my vehicle.
Quite a different story to the old owners! Will probably stick to bunnings in future!

Large garden centre, one of the oldest on the Gold Coast, with an extensive range of all things 'garden'.

Great service and reasonably priced plants but always healthy each time I've bought them from here. Wonderful knowledgeable advice from Jenna.service with a smile. Highly recommend. One small question is why cash is not accepted

Will not accept cash, which is inconvenient, bad customer service and just lazy. Otherwise a great nursery.

Nicely set out relaxing cafe set amongst the garden centre. Prices were moderate. Food was ok but not great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I spent hundreds of dollars at the Coombabah centre on pots and plants about 12 months ago and was very happy with my purchase. Today I drove over an hour up the coast to purchase 3 more pots and plants. After 10 mins of walking through the pot section and looking for a staff member to provide assistance, I approached the girl at the register (who had looked my way more than once in the previous 10 mins but failed to offer any assistance). I had a large trolley which would indicate my intent to purchase something, well, large. I asked the girl if there was someone who could provide assistance about pots and plants. She came back a few mins later and told me I had to go over the other side of the nursery to talk to the staff member as she was watering plants. I understand plants need to be watered but I was about to spend $1,000 and the least I expected was for a staff member to come to me, particularly as I was right near the items I had questions about! I suggested to the young girl that the staff member needed to come to me (and for the reason explained). When she did come to me I reiterated my complaint and she was very rude in her response, like she couldn’t care less about customer service. I asked if there was someone else that could assist me (because her attitude sucked!) she spoke to another staff member who was actually very helpful and got an $850 sale from me. I am happy that I got the pots I wanted which matched the ones I already have, but probably won’t ever be back. I’ll head south next time! It’s interesting that customer service is not at the forefront of business’ minds these days. Very disappointed!

Do not get your plants from here! We bought a birds of paradise, a lemon tree, and olive tree (spent over $1000) from here and they were all infested with pests and bugs. I was actually shocked at how infested they were when they were delivered to us. The lemon tree had so many slugs and worms in the potting mix (I have to individually pull them out with chopsticks, and then eventually resort to replanting in new pot and potting mix). The lemon tree was also filled with red spider mites. This caused the plant to lose so many leaves. I managed to get rid of most of them- but after 1 year they still keep coming back. The birds of paradise was rich with mealy bugs (after months of spraying we finally got rid of them, but still have to spray them once in a while). The olive tree was covered in all different types of bugs, especially lace bugs.

When I called Ross Evans to let them know, they stated that I must have infested the plants from my home or other existing plants in the vicinity (side note: I had already told them I only have one plant in one room). I was shocked at this accusation considering we had such moved into a brand new apartment building and live on the 21st floor. All the other plants in my home (rubber plant and fiddle fig) have still to this day never had any issues with pests or bugs and are completely healthy (I got these from another nursery and Facebook market place- definitely recommend marketplace for plants).

All the previous plants I have had never had any issues with pests or bugs, so this was certainly a first for me. I was clear on my phone call with Ross Evans that I had no interest in returns or refund as I grew attached to the plants and thought I could resolve the issue quickly (I was very wrong about this considering its 1 year later and I just had to spray my lemon tree as the red spider mites are back). I also informed them that I was only calling to let them know about the situation and to make sure that they check all their other plants before delivering it to their customers. However, I was consistently blamed for the pests by Ross Evans on the call and therefore promised myself never to purchase from them again.

I have held off on any reviews for a year hoping that my case was a rare one, however, I am still dealing with the pests over a year onwards and its getting really frustrating. I am giving Ross Evans 2 stars instead of 1 because I do sincerely hope the rest of their plants are not like this and things have changed over the past year. They also do have a wonderful selection of plants, however, maybe Facebook Marketplace is a safer (and cheaper!) option.

This place is a slice of heaven on earth. Great selection of good quality, well acclimatised plants that last the distant. The nursery itself is always calm and a great place to stroll around loosing an hour or two picking through the selection. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable and always serve with a smile.

They will not accept cash for any purchase. I believe that this is contrary to federal law. After spending an hour assembling my plants I the.find out that Australian Legal Tender is refused.

Great range of plants and pots. Plants always look healthy and well looked after. Only negative is staff not always showing a desire to assist/help.

I’m new to Brisbane and had no idea what would be best to replant my garden. The lovely young person at Kenmore garden centre gave me exactly the service I was hoping for. She helped suggest what would suit my garden and my lifestyle and was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Thank you very much

Fertiliser, mulches and poisons. Fairy gardens to pottery, pots and wall hangings. It's all here. There is even cafe 63 for a snack and a cuppa while walking the many isles. From micro herbs to succulents. It's a green feast for those doing a little rock feature to a total garden revamp. Do yourself a favour and do a walk through, I found insence and oils in the one part. Pots of all shapes and sizes. Wheelchair and handicap parking friendly. Staff are very helpful. We will be back.

I have bought 2 plants from Ross Evans Runaway Bay which are not as described or labelled correctly. One was an expensive Camellia japonica ($190) which I was assured would not ball - every bud does ball and at the end of August is yet to have one flower open although it has been massed with buds. The other plant labelled as Medinilla magnifica is not Medinilla magnifica although I was assured by a staff member that it was. Staff claim that by law they are not allowed to accept returns although Bunning accept returns (Why?). Staff are only interested in effecting Credit Card transactions and have little or no knowledge. Ross Evans is more interested in their cafe than they are the nursery.

What an absolutely brilliant garden centre. My Mum and I came to the Morningside centre and were so impressed with the quality of the plants and the beautiful setting. As an elderly walker, it was easy access for Mum and she found exactly what she was looking for at a great value price. The staff were super-helpful and friendly too. Looking forward to our next visit.
