11Terrible Experience a while ago with this space! Avoid like the plague! There is much better alternatives available!
A month and a half in as a resident at RCL and it has been great. The benefits are innumerable. Everything from the events to the culture and especially Hayley’s timely reminder that it is Valentine’s Day as I left this afternoon.
I have been a member since September and overall things have been very good. The community is great, and unlike other co-working spaces I worked out of they have no issues with my business partner occassionally (couple times a month) working from here as well. It can sometimes be noisy, but that's the price to pay for a busy community.
If ecosystems had a heart, the Brisbane Startup community’s heart would be located here. Because the heart is only a few years old, it still beats pretty quickly. Best of all, every first Friday of the month the heart is open, free and flows with beer in the afternoon.
Useful venue for IT meetups. Sometimes lift doesn't allow access to 3rd floor so take lift to 2nd floor and find large presentation area in centre with sloping seating all the way up to 3rd floor. You can walk up the stairs beside seating to get to 3rd floor.
An absolute DREAM to work from here if you are a business owner, start up or simply someone that wants to work from a productive and energetic space
Tarryn was very rude and unhelpful. We only asked about what services they were offering and she kept sighing like she was annoyed from our questions, we asked about 4 or 5 politely and from the first question, she turned her back on us and acted like she wanted to go. Also, the door was closed which is fine and we waved at the lady at the reception for a while and even knocked and she acted like she didn't see us, until a member from the community opened, if you're not in business don't advertise. We'll be taking ours in a proper coworking space.
Extremely noisy, hit and miss internet, and poor location. Though the staff seemed friendly, the lack of parking, high cost of transport to and from Fortitude valley would bring costs up significantly for any worker (mass transit extremely expensive and ineffective in Brisbane). Add on to that the amount of noise generated from the wooden floors and high-heeled women commuting to and from board rooms.that said, I think the community has a lot to offer; the community seems vibrant and welcoming to newcomers. Not to RCL's fault, but the NBN seems very hit-and-miss, with any external IPs outside of Australia getting massively throttled and 2.4g conections quite hopeless. I think they try their hardest, so I would consider working at RCL were it not for the noise.
Looking around for a seperate office to the building that we're in at the moment. Stumbled across River City labs. They moved from the old premises in the Valley to this new place, near Chinatown. Facilities are all new and it looks modern and fresh.
Loving the new digs. Revamped warehouse seems fitting for a place that will hopeful bring a lot of tech industry to Brisbane.
The original start-up accelerator in Brisbane. Old facilities, but recently re-invigorated atmosphere. Soon to move to new facilities.
