Red Lion Hotel

The Reddy Restaurant at the Red Lion was another delightful surprise. Clearly recently renovated to a high standard, the tables as not jammed packed in and the whole place had a great feel about it. I had the duck with chat potatoes and broccolini which was so juicy for duck and tender, the breast was juicy but I could have done with a sauce if you ever feel like adding a little extra to this dish. My wife has the reef fish grilled, today it was Snapper, it was available either crumbed/grilled or battered, this too was tasty and flaked away, very well cooked just right! The staff were efficient and friendly whilst the service was quick considering the place was almost full. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner. Great place we´ll be back!

We stumbled upon this place when walking back to our motel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of the Daily Specials. You can have lunch here for just $18, - (meal + drink). Think of a steak salad, burger, steak sandwich. Simple food but good stuff. Check this place out guys you won't regret it.

15 Dollar Steak Sandwich with a generous serve of chips was a great deal for lunch.

Great country pub, great atmosphere, good prices, food is excellent (oyster kills are the best) live music every fri/sat, comfortable decor, staff are friendly. Would high recommend. 5 stars from us

Had another great family meal last night, Regan was great, seated us, came back right away to take our drinks order and then our meal order, food is always nicely presented and so yummy. Staff are polite and friendly

Really nice friendly pub and restaurant with a great atmosphere and amazing food we had the steak wow and as it was Wednesday steak night only $22.

Booked in the morning on a Saturday and they were great. Arrived at the restaurant and they seated us right away. Loved the ambience here and the fact that the country people (farmers etc) come here for a drink on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks and had already viewed the menu online so knew what we wanted. The young waitress asked us if we wanted a second round of drinks before our steaks arrived. That was nice and the staff were very attentive. Our steaks were great (eye fillet and sirloin and chips and salad) and cooked to perfection. It was the nicest steak meal we had in Rockhampton for the week (sorry criterion hotel you were far too busy and didn’t really care). I would say it was a Family and country pub atmosphere. We loved it and will come back here again when we are next in town. It will become our go to pub and restaurant.

Went in to have a beer. No bar staff in sight so found a lady chatting in the restaurant. I caught her eye and she came thru to the bar and collected a few dirty glasses on the bar before looking over and saying "are you right mate? " I am standing at the service area with a $10 note in my hand and no drink. Me thinks "what a stupid question". Teach your bar staff "are you right mate" is not acceptable. What can i get you or how can i help is. You can stick your pub!

Great service, lovely staff, meals were really nice, only complaint probably is that the 300g scotch fillet was sliced quite thin so wasn't as we expected it to be, but still super tasty

Easily one of the best places to dine out in Rockhampton! Food is always delicious, and super quick service - we didn’t have to wait long for our meals at all, even on a busy Saturday night. Great atmosphere and comfy chairs. Staff were also incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful - thank you to the team for a great meal and experience! Will definitely be back:)

We had a 21st & the service was great. Also the facilities were clean & well presented.

Recently visited the Red Lion with a large group of people. Food was great but Unfortunately the night was cut short due to the fact that you could not get a drink after 8.15pm and this was on a Wednesday night. No last drinks call was made even though some people were still eating. Very disappointing that the kitchen also closed without any warning and you couldn't get desert. Red Lion you will need to greatly improve your customer service for us to return.
