Helpful and polite staff. Always come out with one or more books. The fiction section is great. It’s also slightly cheaper than its rival around the corner.

A cozy establishment. But limited choices. Most books are pulp and genre fiction. Few poetry. A few literary fiction. Wish they had variety.

Always a good little store to get books specifically for my toddler as it's more of a hands on experience.

I find that the books are well priced and will definitely be back again in the future

Not impressed. I was asked to sign up as a member, however, I was not informed of the $25 fee until later in the transaction to which I felt obligated to pay. I won't even use the membership. Very sneaky way of signing customers up with a $25 fee, unethical.

Good selection of books. The prices I pay here are ever so slightly higher than if I purchase the same books elsewhere though.

The girls on here helped me find exactly what i was looking for. Enjoyed my books very much and will be back to buy more!

The staff here are super friendly servicing a wide variety of books. They would usually order books that they don't stock.

I love coming here to check out the specials and also the staff are just wonderful here. I feel like I buy more because of how wonderful the staff are! Also the staff actually read books too! So they can recommend good reads too. They are so good to chat to. I got this bargain from them the other day. Loved the books, and this author (Jay Kristoff) is my new favourite.

I have been purchasing books from QBD Chermside for many years now. I've never had an issue until today. This morning at 10: 45, I purchased a book from the political section "Cynical Theories' by Helen Pluckrose. The front cover said "how universities make everything about, race, gender and identity" - this apparently displeased the person serving me (white skin, purple coloured hair and a visible chest tattoo) who made a snarky comment about 'right wing media' and rolled their eyes when I asked if they carried any feminist literature.

I understand having differing political opinions and as per their reaction I am assuming we are very much both on the left. But, had this person known anything about the book they would know it was written by two queer people and was very left-leaning and that the person they had mocked for purchasing this book was an Indigenous Australian.

Not only am I hurt at the interaction, but i'm sure we can all agree that politics have no play in customer service.

I think I may shop at Dymocks now.

I love this QBD, they just recently upgraded the store and even doing so they opened a temporary QBD some where else in Chermside which is great so they always have business. They also have cute little stalls too so that people don’t have to walk all the way to the other side for books. So it’s great that they do stuff like this. Staff is amazing, one printed out so many book recommendations for me and thought that was so sweet of her to do. 10/10 experience!

I've been hunting for a book I could only remember the plot of - no title or author. I went in here today as a last resort, hoping that I could find someone who knew the name of this book! I got incredibly lucky and spoke to a lovely lady who immediately knew what I was talking about and didn't look at me like a crazy person. Thank you to whoever that was, now I finally know!

Great place, was shopping around for a book and they were the only place that had it, they put in on hold behind the counter for me and I came and got it. Impressed with the enthusiastic counter staff too! Well done QBD!

A great array of books and C. D. ' s also a lot of children' s books. Though if not indoors and to be sold, simply order it from counter, with hardback or soft. People would be amazed!

4.5 stars - overall quite good, but perhaps need to keep up to date on what is popular, especially in sci-fi, fantasy, and young adult genres. They sometimes have what I want, but popular, new books I would have well expected them to have are nowhere to be seen and have to be ordered in. Otherwise lovely place to shop

The lady who served me at the counter on the 06 Janury at 4pm was snappy. No matter If you had a bad day you shouldn't make it too obvious especially If you're at work to provide customer service.

The sales assistant at the checkout was really lovely. She got me transferred over to the new loyalty system and updated my details quickly. She also took the time to explain the loyalty benefits. Great service and I will absolutely shop here again.
