Fantastic bookshop for crime and sci fi. Excellent knowledge by owner and helper. Will only buy my books here from now on. Got to support local bookshops or they will fall by wayside with internet. I suggest you a go and have alook!

Don’t shop here, I asked a simple question if they had a type of book and was recommended to go to another book shop, when I explained the bookshop mentioned was overpriced compared to online alternatives, I was rudely given a lecture on how I shouldn’t be trying to buy discounted books… weird way to talk to potential customers

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and very good at finding books you don't even know you want.

2023 update: Always check the Recommended section. There are so many great books to discover there.

Best bookshop.got all my favourites and new ones in buckets. Went in for one more book so see me out the holiday and have got 3.speed reading in the next few days. Owner so delightful and wonderfully knowledgable. The perfect bookshop for crime and science fiction. Thank you.

Excellent and charming collection of Sci-fi, fantasy and cozy crime.

Excellent collection of both popular and niche sci-fi/fantasy books. Also a decent collection of crime and thriller novels with a few non-fiction treats available as well.

The store itself is cosy, the walls are decorated with books, it can be a bit tight inside but it’s usually not too busy and one can easily navigate the store. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about all kinds of books, happy to offer recommendations if you ask for them.

The opening hours can be a bit inconvenient but as it is a small independent book store they are understandable. It’s important to show appreciation for such stores because the passion for books and good stories is clearly apparent in Pulp Fiction and hasn’t been over commercialized.

My favourite book store in Brisbane for new books. They always have what I need in stock, and the woman who serves me is always lovely to chat to. There's also a good range of great non-fiction science/reference books.

Been coming to Pulp Fiction for going on 6 years now. Incredible selection of Fantasy and Sci-Fi novels tucked away in the city centre. A cute, cozy space and accommodating staff who are always generous with their time and recommendations.

Love to this place. Wandered in because of my love of fantasy novels, discovered a new favourite author from staff suggestions also found some amazing non-fiction and fandom colouring books.
Also have detailed reviews you can be sent in monthly catalogues when you subscribe by email, they're filled with the newest books available to purchase.

Pulp fiction is a secret bookstore in Brisbane. Nestled away on a floor of a building on Adelaide Street, walking in there is like walking into Olivanders from Harry Potter. A gem hidden within stone and metal. If you want to find new and amazing books that aren't available at mass market chains like Dymocks, come here! You won't regret it.

Oh my god, I loved this store so much. One of my main goals while visiting Brisbane was to buy English language books, since I live in Taichung, Taiwan, and there's a very limited selection of English books available. Of course I could order them online, but it's just not the same. This was my heaven - almost entirely sci-fi and fantasy, masses of new works and old favourites. I mentioned to the person working that I'd be bankrupt if I lived near here! As it was a walked out with a bag full of books and would have come back for more if I'd had more space in my luggage. Still kicking myself for not buying that wonderfully anachronistic edition of Necromancer, a beautiful, classic hardback which wouldn't have looked out of place in an antique book shop.
