ProfessioNail Gasworks

Was in the salon this week where they were waxing a lady behind the curtain. She finished and left and the towel on the bed was not changed only straightened up for the next person. Yuk! This has really turned me off going to this salon, not hygienic at all.

The customer service here is always amazing and they do such a great job on my nails and pedicures!

Very pleasing environment. All staff very professional and experienced, nothing is too much trouble. I consider this to be the best in Brisbane.

Poor work and overpriced. Set of French acrylic pictured here. Photos taken same day as completed. I gave them two separate visits in case it was just a one off, it’s not.

Been a few times because it’s convenient and local. But service is honestly terrible. Over 2 hours for a basic infill because 4 different staff will do you nails and you’re left sitting there in between half an hour each time. Basic infill should take 45 mins to 1 hour, not 2.5+ hours! I’m ok with that if the nails were good, but they’re consistently bad. Last set broke and lifted within a day and were super uneven. One of the staff cut 5 of my fingers with the electric drill, then stuck her dirty glove over the open wound to try and hide it. I don’t need an infection too thanks. Way overpriced for the quality. Staff will also gaslight you if you dare raise any legitimate issues. Have frequently seen staff invalidate and condescend other customers in front of the whole shop for having the courage to ask for revisions to the unacceptable service or quality. Parking is only free for 2hours, so then you’ve got to pay parking fees on top on the nail cost. Won’t be returning. Waaaay better salons in the city.

Last time I’ve been there was to remove acrylic and they charged me $25 which is understandable because it’s hard to get it off. This time I just asked to remove gel polish which literally took 5 minutes, my nails were half without gel polish anyway and she charged me $20. What? I already paid $5 for the same service at other places. I’m very disappointed as I’m a regular customer, they obviously overcharged me.

I had the best experience at this salon. I saw Kim on Tuesday 4th April and she was really good, efficient, gentle and an overall a lovely person. She even helped me chose a colour for me that suits beautifully on my skin tone.

We even spoke about the recycling issue and the worlds transition to renewable energy. Very engaging.

Got my nails done here, now the nails themself came out okay, but I will not be returning. They were very rough and cut me 3x and I went home with bleeding cuticles, nor did they say anything when they did it. Had to go home and use sanitiser so I don’t get an infection. Also felt super judged until I said I live in this area then felt a little more of a kind service! Will be going back to my original place at Queen street mall! Do not recommend going here.

My Daughter had a pedicure done today and the water was too hot for her feet/legs.
When she put her feet in the basin there was nail clippings from someone else at the bottom rubbing on my daughter’s feet. When she said something the staff just pulled them out.
The towel that was used was also painfully hot.
Overall a very unpleasant experience and she won’t be returning

Naomi was very accommodating by fitting me in right on closing and did a fantastic job. I Have been coming here for the last 6 months and each time my nails have turned out wonderfully.

Over priced and poor quality. I always leave with problems because the staff are so distracted here. The nail place at Valley Emporium is much better.

Excellent service, very professional and did a lovely job of my nails. Gave me exactly what I asked for, thank you!

- The service
Understand they are under staff but I rather they tell me to come back another time than let someone seems had no experience to do my pedicure, first of all it took forever, second of all, my toe is not an elephant toe, it doesn’t need that amount of force to file or to cut. Someone else ended up to come and finish the job, and the dude refuse to cut my nail any shorter… I don’t really wish to get nails done every week.

- The Hygiene
Hmmm… this will be the main reason I would not recommend anybody to come here. I’m not expecting a new set of tools for each customer, but there is no cleaning of the tools after each customer! I was horrified they use the cutter and filer straight after it was used on the lady next to me.

- The Quality
The sellec color and the top coat they use for manicure doesn’t seems very high quality, my previous one has been a month and there is not a single scratch on the surface, and I’m not that kind of person who doesn’t do housework with pretty nails, my previous nails even survived gym with me.
This one done by professionail gaswork hasn’t even lasted for 3 days, it already has scratches on top and the end is about to flip off.

For $110 I think other places does a way better job But I had to try.

It was terrible! The guy who did my nails he cut me 4 times! They said 50 aud and then I paid 60 aud. Never again!

I phoned ProfessioNail at Newstead to book an appointment for a full set of acrylic nails with white tip. I was quoted $65 on the phone or $60 if I brought cash. So I brought $60 cash with me thinking this was all I had to pay. However when I went to pay they told me I needed to pay $85! I informed the lady that I was quoted $60 cash over the phone so she dropped the price to $75 and forced me to pay the extra $15 which I did not come prepared with! I was terribly disgusted with this. While their service was adequate, I wasn't happy that they painted the white tips on my nails using a clear tip instead of using white acrylic white tips like I would normally get at other places. I also wasn't happy with the second lady who painted my nails on as she spent the majority of the time talking to another client sitting next to me which distracted her from what she was meant to be doing and as such she was wasting my time. Not very "PROFESSIOnal" at all. I will not be going back to this place because of these reasons.

EDIT: Thank you for your response to my complaint. Sorry that I have given you a bad review however if you didn't want the bad review, then you should have just offered me the $25 off in the first place when I paid for my nails. I was only expecting to pay $60 (as quoted by your staff member on the phone) but had to find another $25 to make up the $85 which I had not budgeted for. That is all.

Conveniently located, it is usually busy. However the the staff are well experienced and provide friendly service with great care.

I’ve gotten both a mani and pedi here and the girls here do an amazing job with my nails. Super quick and efficient!

Nails chipped after 2 days, although I live around the corner, I won’t be going back. Worst nails I’ve ever had.

Very rude service today. Pedicure was a decent job but the manicure a half job without eye contact once. $90 shellac on toes but not hands and treated poorly. A disappointment. I hoped to feel good today not like an inconvenience. Merry Christmas
