It is the most unprofessional experience I have encountered in a private hospital. It first started the night my wife was taken by ambulance on Wednesday 27/12/23. They left our house before midnight. I was tired so retired to bed. At 1.30 AM I received a phone call asking me for particulars of my wife's pension card & private health cover details & then asked how my wife was paying & credit card details which I refused. I said I would come in the morning & pay all that was required. On arrival at the hospital no one was able to inform me who it would have been to ring at 1.30 AM. (naturally.) On friday 29/12/23 the Doctor visited my wife's room. The door to her room had been all the time shut because she was supposed to have covid 19. The Dr left her room door half open took his mask off & told us she should go home as what she had was too weak to infect anybody & did not need to isolate when we got home as she would not infect anybody. When the Dr.left he left her room door half open. Straight away a nurse rushed over & said your door is supposed to be closed. You have covid we don't want it & slammed the door shut. Very upsetting for both my wife & myself. When we were leaving a nurse in full PPE gear came with a wheel chair to take my wife out of the hospital. The nurse that went beserk about the door was supposed to accompany her friend but refused & another nurse came with us. No mask on even. I wasn't able to park my car at the front door of the hospital there were other cars. I parked my car on the street only 50 mtrs away. When the nurses came out of the hospital I told them I would get my car it would only take a minute. To my disbelief went I drive in my wife was on a bench seat by herself in the sun in 32% heat. I could not believe an 86 year old frail woman would be treated this way. I have always admired nurses they are so wonderful but there were two at Pindara that should choose another vocation. I am expecting a revue & an apology for such disgraceful treatment.

JUST TO LET PEOPLE KNOW. …. REFERRING TO MY SCHEDULED BACK OPERATION AT PINDARA HOSPITAL ON THE 3RD NOVEMBER 2023
DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE HAD HEART SURGERY FOUR WEEKS PRIOR AND CONTINUING ATTENDING AT REHAB, I HAVE POINTED THIS FACT OUT TO THE RECEPTIONIST AT MY ADMISSION AT PINDARA HOSPITAL.
I HAVE WAITED FOR OVER ONE HOUR AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE FOYER, AT THE DAY PROCEDURE SECTION FEELING BLOODY COLD. PEOPLE GOING IN AND OUT, NO ONE COME TO OFFER A BLANKET OR A GOWN OR INFORM ME THAT THERE IS A DELAY OR WHATEVER.
I GOT PI***D OFF AS MY CHEST PAIN INCREASED, I DECIDED TO GO HOME. I WENT TO THE RECEPTION AND TOLD THEM THAT. I AM ABSOLUTELY PI***D OFF WITH THEIR P**S POOR CARELESS SERVICE.

My experience with pindara hospital is it was like a public hospital (so so so busy and full) but you get a private room-Only went here because my specialist for my lifelong condition works there!
Had major surgery and told the Anaesthetist I’ve used endones in past surgeries and I’m ok with that if necessary and she said oh you will be needing pain relief and there are a lot of different ones- so after surgery I was given “a slow release” tablet I trusted that it would be what I was expecting- then I got very ill vomiting my guts up- never happened after previous surgeries for the same thing- found out it was called palexia (must be the new pushed drug for $$) and I heard it been given to a few other patients after me, I felt so hot and couldn’t cool down I got a face washer with water and ice chips to try and feel better but it took hours and hours to wear off. The night nurse was stand off ish to me and made me feel uncomfortable and like an annoyance to her, and it took so long for anyone to come once I pressed the button- made me feel alone and isolated.
The food was inedible- bones all through the fish and the mash was like a rock, bread roll stank, when you see how much they are making for one nights stay it is ridiculous. Having to keep asking for them to do the things that should already be done is shameful too- I feel sorry for the elderly or non verbal patients. Everything was too much for them, severely understaffed and I was thinking that maybe when the public hospitals are full maybe they send them here, after reading another review I found that to be true! So while I had to pay $500 excess and monthly private health and for all my surgeries that public patients are then coming for free and making the staff shortage even worse! The bin in my room was overflowing still when I discharged (had my two vomit bags from previous night in it, sandwich scraps and my catheter- gross! The breakfast didn’t come until almost 830am and the person who brought it in didn’t even acknowledge my thank you, disappointing experience, morning nurse was much kinder but I only met her for a short while before I was booted out-less than 24 hours after surgery. Cost cutting on everything they make you swallow tablets when you have the cannula in… recently my son and husband went to Gold Coast private which was so much better than here staff, food and the new building.

The 2 stars are for the staff, all lovely. Zero stars for the food basically disgusting. Fruit salad and bread roll is only 2 things to eat.
For a private hospital, shame on you Ramsey Health. Unfortunately my friend has been admitted 6 times this year with infection to his wound and has spent thousands of dollars being admitted, this last time being hounded for the gap payment while in his bed filled with painkillers. Finding it hard to transfer founds while drugged up. They call the mobile number listed as next of kin chasing for the money. So disgusted I can’t speak
The hospital actually smells of stale air putting up paintings on the walls does not hide the fact it is run down and depressing for the patients

The best private hospital in the Gold Coast. Always almost no waiting time. The staff are good and friendly. Very professional medical personnel. Free parking. Good location and access. New and modern facilities.

I’ve had 2 week-long stays at Pindara over the past couple of months and the nurses on the Neuro ward 3E are nothing short of amazing. Their care and genuine empathy was nothing I’ve experienced before.

Special call outs to Renee, Mikaela, Maree, Herryla, Lisa, Emily and Ali. Also PTs Paul, Charmaine & Nick. South Coast Radiology nurse Nicole and Dr May. And not to forget Tracey, Stephanie and Bec on ward 4E. I hope management read my review. It’s staff members like these that make a real difference in a patient’s recovery.

I would like to thank Dr Jason from ED that saw my daughter Sophie on the 16/06. Dr Jason is not just an example of a great doctor but an example of an amazing human being. He displayed knowledge, care and the most amazing caring handling to a child. Thank to Dr Jason and the awesome team of nurses my daughter Sophie could celebrate her birthday on the day after! Dr Jason and team. The world need more people like you! Sending all our love!

I had a day surgery today and from the moment I walked through the door I was greeted with smiled and assistance for my needs. Day receptionists were lovely, nurse who did admission paperwork was lovely as was the nurse who had my groovy attire ready. Surgery went well and I wasn't treated like a number but a real person. Recovery area fantastic as we're the nursing staff looking after me in the 'departure area'

Extremely rude customer service from the ER admin staff. I was admitted from Robina Hospital (public) I was at Robina for hours and they treated me amazingly. As soon as I went to Pindara I was greeted by “you know you have to pay here” I was sent here by Robina after being there for hours, they had run out of beds, so they advised me to go to Pindara and that they would be aware of my arrival and no charge. She didn’t smile or show any warmness, it’s like I interrupted her. She was cold and brazen as she spoke to me. This young lady (dark long hair in a high pony, eyelash extensions, tan skin, dark eyebrows) was extremely rude and belittling. Everyone else at Pindara was amazing though. All the nurses were amazing. I am just disgusted by the admin young lady, I had to be “greeted” by. I didn’t ask to come here I was told too.

I am in my eighties and was diagnosed with covid for the first time last Thursday. My doctor prescribed anti viral medication which I commenced on Friday.
Last night (Saturday) my 88 yr old husband also tested positive. He is a cancer survivor and has alzheimer's so I felt he was particularly vulnerable and I rang up the emergency dept at the nearby Pindara hospital. Since I am unwell myself they advised me to ring an ambulance which I did. After 50 mins the ambulance people contacted me to say there were long delays. I said that since the hospital was very nearby I could take him myself which I did.
After 30 mins or so we saw a nurse who asked me why we were there. I explained and she responded quite sharply "Yes well he clearly doesn't need an ambulance - you shouldn't waste their time! "
She then asked me what I expected them to do about the covid!
Somewhat stunned I explained that I had been led to believe that covid could be quite dangerous in the elderly and vulnerable-my husband qualifies on both these counts? I am sick with the virus myself and I needed help with his condition.
You will see a doctor shortly she said!
I was so upset by this encounter I asked the emergency desk for her name - they said her first name was Elizabeth and they did not know her last name!
We soon saw a doctor who moved my husband to a bed in emergency where they commenced to give him an ECG, blood tests etc.
After we had been there over 21/2 hrs - I was feeling quite ill myself sitting in a very uncomfortable plastic chair and I asked if I could go home and have them ring me when he was ready to be discharged-the doctor told me they would give me a script for the anti viral medication but I could start him on mine that night.
I returned home but when I had not heard by 12.15am I rang to see what was happening. Eventually I was put through and told I could go and collect him which I did.
It is quite a long walk from the emergency dept at Pindara across the connecting bridge to the car park and my husband is frail and has mobility problems plus we were BOTH ill with covid.
Nonetheless we were left to walk to the car- I thought my husband would collapse on a number of occasions during our very slow progress! I really think a wheelchair would have been in order!
Thank God we got home safely- we can certainly thank nobody else!
I have generally experienced very good care from Pindara so this nightmare experience was quite devastating!
We were charged nearly $500 for this rather sub standard service!

My mother had a episode on her first night. She had difficulty breathing and when she tried to call for help using the remote control, it did not work. Fortunately the door was ajar and they eventually heard heard wheezing/whistling noises from her laboured breathing.
Thankfully they moved her to another room.
Would have liked a controller for the air-conditioning as she was freezing and only got blankets.

Our young son needed emergency at 1am so we took him to the Emergency department at Pindara Private Hospital. There was no queue and the staff were all very kind and efficient. Our son quickly received the care he needed and we were out by 3am. Highly recommended if you need urgent help.

Thanks to the lovely nurses in ward 3E, very attentive and professional. Nothing was ever a issue for my week long stay.

Suggest a outside seating area to spend some time out of your room. And attend some room repairs. Light missing and broken blind.

Thanks to all the staff at ward 3E for looking after me so well these last couple of days, you are all so professional, so careing, and good at your job. You made me so at home and and cannot praise you enough. Be very proud of yourselves and I hope you all have a great xmas and new year. It also goes without saying, a big thanks also to the emergency department that took initial care of me. Pindara has again excelled in its care of both my wife and myself in the past years. Thank you again.

Today I had a not so positive experience in relation to two Pindara Hospital employees. I had initially telephoned the cardiac ward wondering if I was able to speak to a nurse regarding my mother's heart condition. The ward manager was rather abrupt and less than friendly in her communications with me and subsequently placed me on hold. While I was on hold I had lost connection, so rang the ward back and the same lady (ward manager) answered. I politely informed her that my call was cut off. I was met with the following response " You were not cut off! I put the phone down and placed you on hold. ". I then let the lady know that she did not need to speak with me in such an abrupt way. She did not reply and I was put onto the nurse unit manager of the cardiac ward and after I informed her of the way the ward manager had spoken to me earlier, she responded by saying the following. "I was standing right next to her and she spoke in an appropriate way". It is sad to think that people who are considered professionals who work in this environment seem to think it is acceptable to speak to a family member in such an abrasive way and when you voice your concerns with them about the manner in which you were spoken to you are completely disregarded by another and subsequently left feeling invalidated.
