Otto’s Market Precinct reviews
23 The better of the two Otto's locations. Nice open layout, with a good range of food, drink and groceries. The desserts in the cabinet all looked delicious and the food we got was tasty and fresh.
The Vietnamese iced coffee I got was amazing and I still think about it.
It would be nice if the Latino Gentleman with the mouth piercing could turn his brain on every once and a while. Every time I've dealt with him he has either got the wrong item and or charged me the wrong amount. Though actually saying something grant's you the privilege of one of the most painful and drawn out exchanges, it's almost never worth the effort. Other than that, pretty good.
TLDR: Not bad, but has gone downhill.
Otto's was once one of my favourite places to come for lunch on a a Sunday or for work lunch, but they've slowly and steadily dropped in quality of food and quality of service.
While the staff are lovely, almost every time I'm here there is some simple mistake that takes time to fix.
The most recent being overcharging $2 me for a sandwich and taking 5 minutes to only heat up one half of it.
In general the food quality has gone slightly down and the price has gone up.
Overall, I wouldn't call this Otto's bad, but it is slowly becoming a shadow of its former self.
Excellent variety of produce,
Friendly staff,
Unfortunately, they charge you to pay with a card, which i believe is money grabbing.
Society is going cashless, and with Covid still a problem, i would think that it would be preferred.
Not only do they make the most outstanding custard slices and platters, Otto's Precinct can also add outstanding customer service to the list. Many thanks to the team in the butcher department for being awesome. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Thankyou!
Whilst visiting my sister and best friend, we had lunch at Otto’s. I’d been recommended a visit by my mum who loves to go when visiting my sister. Food great, service excellent. The outside area had piles of leaves under the tables and a fair amount of rubbish about - felt this could have been addressed by the staff (visiting on a weekday, around 2pm) but otherwise would recommend.
Love the food and coffee on the upstairs balcony area. Alovely relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
Terrific food outlet in Townsville. The range of products available is extensive. A bakery with a great selection of breads, cakes and pastries, butchery with fresh meats and prepared meals, canned and bottled foods, fresh sandwiches and rolls all jostle for attention. Definitely a great place to shop.
The blonde girl with the nose ring and dreadful attitude couldn’t even make the experience of buying overpriced goods enjoyable. 6pm 03/11
Wide variety of unique grocery items. Every time I visit I find something new and interesting to try.
Fabulous coffee. Top class warm and friendly customer service. Boundless selection of scrumptious tempting edibles!
Beautiful area for having a coffee and sweets with friends / family. Otto’s has a wide range of fresh produce and funky foods.
I believe they also hold various functions on the mezzanine level. I recently attended a whiskey tasting night and it was fantastic. The pairing of each whiskey with the different dishes make for a delicious evening, plus I learnt a few things about whiskey regions.
The staff are friendly and always helpful with suggestions when I’m trying to decide what I’m going to eat.
The whole area is busy but not crowded which adds to the community atmosphere. It’s a great vibe in the area and I love coming to this place.
It's a great part of Townsville. There's a great selection of cheese, fruit, vegetables and many other foods. The sandwiches, cakes, slices and pies all look wonderful.
Just like the original Otto's, but bigger and fancier! Breakfast is amazing, definitely recommend the Texan Breakfast.
Huge variety, lots of unique and tasty options both in the market and the food sections.
Friendly staff, who are exceedingly helpful in navigating all the choices available.
Great atmosphere!
Absolutely love this place. Has such a good variety of food from fresh produce to cold drinks to sealed biltong to hot food, baked good and imported snacks. Would always highly reccomend your local Otto's as there is also one in Warrina, (imo, the precinct one is better.) The staff are very helpful and nice and I always have a smile talking to any of them. Can't ever go wrong going through this market, you'll always come out with something you'll enjoy.
So happy they have opened a second shop nearer to my home. The turkey subs, donut pretzels, pies, chocolate hedgehog slice and so much more. All delicious and great service
Gorgeous atmosphere, food is good by the local standard, staff are very friendly but coffee could use some work. Milk is way to hot, and the coffee is under extracted.
Went in for a coffee and pastry, paid then had to be refunded for the coffee because they dont make coffee after 4pm, even though there is clearly a lady making coffee. Second time these guys have trolled me. Ended up leaving the pastry on the counter. The customer sevice is hit and miss
Great spot. Very trendy set up. Delicious food, friendly staff and loads of sweet options. Had a very hearty burger and chips which was super filling. This place also has a very fancy supermarket of sorts attached to it. They make good coffee too.
