Mooloolah River National Park reviews
23This national park is gorgeous, with a huge variety of flowering plants. It has several different soil types and, therefore, several different little ecosystems in place. Absolutely worthwhile in Spring if you want to get some stunning and special flora photos. I'm an ameteur but I would recommend the scenery for anyone who likes a gentle stroll. There are areas on the paths where wheelchairs simply could not manouvre so keep that in mind if you rely on mobility aids.
Two of the parking areas off Kawana Way are 4wd access only. No map of the park at those entrances. Nearly run down by a motorcycle! Detracted from the ambience somewhat.
Favourite local walk. Very diverse flora across the walk. Very bush-like. Just beware of the snakes. If you are walking I have found they aren't a problem, because they keep out of the way, but if you are running or riding the snakes don't always move in time (I almost stood on a red belly black on a run through here).
Not many tall trees for shade, easy, short walk. No carpark, need to drive onto a rocky, dirt gravel track to get to the gate/entrance. No toilets. There is no river incase you're
wondering lol.
Wonderful location and beautiful view. Simply amazing and drive from Brisbane is smooth. Many places to eat.
A rare slice of natural Sunshine coast habitat, with scribbly gum forest and soggy heath grasslands. Good bird life and great for a trail run if you don't mind getting wet, muddy feet.
So worth the visit during spring
Park at end of Claymore Rd off Dixon Rd. The Boronia fire trail is the first trail and in dry weather a lovely walk along the bloodwood forest over a creek through open heathland which in spring is incredibly beautiful which is the pick of the trails. You can extend your walk by taking a right and go on the
Littoralis Trail, then down along Kawana way to pick up the Melaleuca Trail, back onto the Aemula Trail that intersects the Boronia trail which takes you back to carpark. It's about 8.5km all up.
There are no facilities here.
There is a large map legend at the carpark.
Not well known and in the wet would be tough going as the sandy trail would be partly under water and the mossies would be out then.
I really hoping this place would be wheelchair accessible but unfortunately the ground is just too uneven, whilst I did go there, I had to abandon my plan and go elsewhere.
It was a nice casual stroll before dinner. We watched the yachts coming in and the fishing boats leaving. Had a swim, water was nice a cool.
Nice and tranquil kayak towards Kawana. Got breezy on a few of the twists and turns, but a lovely morning paddle. Lots of birds, crabs, fish and stingrays to see along the way too.
Lovely in Spring time - Pink Boronias and other wildflowers. The best trail is the Boronia trail. When you get to the south entrance of the Boronia trail don't bother with the trail that heads East along the fence line - it is overgrown, uninteresting and goes nowhere. If you want to extend your walk it is legal to continue south through the gate. This dirt road eventually runs through pleasant farm land. Only bother with the Aemula trail and the Littoralis trails if you are mad keen to walk a loop. No facilities.
Found a trail but took us awhile. Might’ve come in from the wrong side. Great walking once we were underway.
Great place to visit. Great walk down to the waterfall. The waterfall was freezing but very refreshing. The walk back up was a bit hard as I am not fit. Would of liked a few rest spots along the path.
Nice walk, but very wet track in places right now. Will go again after a couple of weeks of dry weather.
Went to the Wappa Falls Observatory, what a mind expanding experience! Must go back and explore more of the area.
Fantastic area for kayaking and hiking. Lots of wildlife. The mozzies can be a pain but only when you stop. Tide can be quite strong so check tide times and make life easy.
I had a great walk alone the board walk. And wish I had more time to explore some more. Would be a great place to take the kids for a bike ride. Lots of bird life and wild life too
Great spot for trail runs, is not the biggest but you can still get quite far. There are some stoney road blocks and some mountain cyclists, so be aware. If you want this goes all the way to Palm Woods so enjoy!
Pleasant relatively easy walk. Did a circuit using the various trails. Around 8km. Interesting flora and evidence of wildlife activity but no creatures seen today. Little shade so slip slop slap and take plenty of water. No toilets here so go before you leave home.
As national parks go, this is only a small one with only fire trails to walk. But, that aside, its pristine nature is a great asset to the bushwalker / photographer.
