They do the hard sell to get a sizeable deposit and signature on the day they quote. Push with offers of discount. If you pay a deposited late in the evening and then early next morning yo call and cancel, they refuse to refund any deposit. Even though they have not had time to do any work or incur any costs, not one cent is refunded. They take your cash as a bonus. Pack of moral criminals. Poor

Don't bother, they take your money and give you a totally different colour to what your windows are, ratings were good when I looked into it. Not going to do the rest of the house because of this

Quick to take money, slow to provide the service with appalling customer service.
We a signed a contract for a hefty amount of money at the start of February thinking they were a reputable company with good reviews so we wouldn’t waste our time with the smaller companies, how silly were we. We were told the work would be done to clean, fix and paint our roof as well as replace our guttering and this should be completed by May.
We finally heard from the company at the end of May that they would be coming on Monday to clean the roof and get started. When the man showed up to clean the roof, apparently we didn’t have the correct water pressure for them to do it so it couldn’t be done until the next week. The man who showed up said they should’ve checked it when they made us sign a contract. We actually had our full house’s plumbing repiped to speed up the above process.this took two days in comparison and was completed before they managed to come back to start on the roof. The job to clean, fix and paint the roof was finally completed in June.

Fast forward another 3 months, we were called and told our gutters would be dropped off the next day and the job completed that week. This was wrong again, we received a call from the woman at the sub-contracted guttering company, who informed that us our guttering would not be done that week, as Modern had accidentally ordered the house booked for after us for gutterings supplies first, so their house would be done before ours.
We’re just only having the guttering completed now, 7 months post the contract being signed.
I called multiple times a week to discuss a timeline and was told I would be called back when they had a date, surprise, I was never called back. Eventually my husband received an email a week before the gutters were being dropped off this week in September.
When I sent an email explaining how disappointed I am in the service provided and the possibility of a discount, I was told there was nothing they could do and they had excuse after excuse never accepting the blame themselves.
We are a young couple, we have many young friends renovating, best believe they won’t be using Modern. So disappointed.

Very disappointed that despite multiple contacts with the office to have scaffolding parts removed from our roof, the parts have not been collected. We are listing our home for sale and can’t have photographs taken until the scaffolding is removed. This poor service has impacted on our opinion of Modern.

We have had outdoor blinds installed to our Alfresco, what a transformation. Modern have been great, we had some construction delays impacting installation and a small ordering issues. Michael was always very friendly, informative and kept us in the loop. Going out of their way for us. We have recommended Modern to neighbours, who now have outdoor automatic blinds installed too.

Would have to be the most unorganised unprofessional company I’ve ever dealt with.
Have waited 4.5 months for our roller blinds that we were told would take 2 to 3 weeks. Had our final measure twice then the day finally comes for installation and they have supplied wrong frames.
Be warned people there are better more organised companies out there.

Title: Disappointed Customer: Lackluster Response from Modern Group Regarding Plantation Shutter Issue

I am deeply disappointed with the level of customer service provided by Modern Group in addressing an issue with the sliding door plantation shutters I purchased from them. Despite paying a substantial amount for what I had hoped would be high-quality products, I found myself facing a frustrating and unresponsive situation.

From the outset, I was excited about the prospect of enhancing my home's aesthetics and functionality with plantation shutters. However, the reality has been far from my expectations. The window shutters I had installed were great, however the sliding door shutter aesthetics was not to my expectations and did not match the specifications I had clearly communicated during the ordering process. The base of the sliding door shutters is sitting on top of the carpet, moves up and down when you stand on it and just looks horrible.

My frustration deepened when attempting to contact Modern Group's customer service to address this issue. Despite numerous attempts to reach out, I encountered a lackluster response characterised by no response. It is disheartening to be met with such disregard after investing my hard-earned money in their products. I felt as though my concerns were being brushed aside, leaving me stuck with subpar sliding door shutters that do not fulfill the purpose for which they were intended.

I understand that challenges can arise in any business, but it is the response to those challenges that truly defines a company's commitment to its customers. In this regard, Modern Group has fallen short. A simple acknowledgment of the issue and a sincere effort to rectify the situation would have gone a long way in restoring my confidence in their brand.

As it stands, I cannot in good conscience recommend Modern Group to others seeking quality window treatments and attentive customer service. I had hoped for a positive experience and a seamless installation of my plantation shutters, but unfortunately, my interactions with the company have left me feeling let down and undervalued as a customer.

It is my sincere hope that Modern Group takes this feedback to heart and makes necessary improvements to prevent similar disappointments for future customers.

The sad thing is when I paid the full amount on the day. Modern group made no effort to make contact.

Thanks to Modern Roofing for an amazing roof and gutter replacement and restoration.
The house is now safe for the rain etc for years to come and it looks great!
The price, the timing, the communication and the service by the sales team, tradies and office team was absolutely honest and fair. Yes it took time - EVERYONE wants their roof.done and yet we were patient and they were professional.
I will choose quality and reasonable prices every time.

If you want your job completed in a timely manner, AVOID MODERN at all costs! We waited months for our plantation blinds to be put in, and when arriving for the final measure were told we couldn't have the sliding blinds as we'd been quoted and all had to be fixed panels. The worst thing though is their roofing department. Over one year later and the job still isn't finished, phone calls and emails go unanswered, their customer service and level of communication is terrible. Modern blame it on lack of contractors, yet continue quoting work and taking on new jobs knowing they have a backlog of customers from 9 9 months ago waiting for work to be completed. Not good enough, particularly given the cost. I thought I could trust the Modern name, but should have done my research beforehand. Definitely wouldn't use again, and wouldn't recommend.
Have since downgraded to 1 star as even after emailing customer care and calling the team at Head Office leaving numerous voicemails, I have still had no response.

I had a disappointing experience with the agents who came to my house for a quote. They missed not one, but two appointments for a quote, which was frustrating and inconvenient for me. Additionally, I found it problematic that they were adamant about revealing the prices only if both partners were available during the appointment. As a customer, I expected transparency and flexibility in the pricing process. The lack of consideration for my schedule and the unwillingness to provide pricing information unless both partners were present was disappointing. I hope the company can improve their appointment management and pricing policy to provide a better experience for potential customers in the future.

Thank you Dougie from Plantation shutters for the wonderful service. Doug went over and beyond to help me with my shutters He explained about opening and shutting them long term, about adjustments in the future and he was so professional and polite. I will have more in stalled and I won't have any other installer but Doug.

Pathetic service! I gave up my Saturday for an appointment I had at 11am Saturday 26/11/22. No show, no curtesy call. I called the office at 11: 15 to inquire if anyone was coming, I was told they would find out and call me back. Didn't hear back until 4 pm that afternoon from some clown trying to apologise for wasting my day! I'm a genuine buyer looking to do my whole house while the sales are on. So annoyed!

Lots of promise - poor service
Finally over it and posting it.
When i first got the quote for my outdoor blinds in 2019 the rep assured me that my special case was exactly what they are good at and wanted to use it as an advertising example. Other companies were a bit more cautious and albeit they were cheaper i decided to go with the apparently better quality and expertise.
That all changed when the installers came and took the measurement, scratching their heads how to install. After several attempts a crew came that knew how to install but the adjustment of the endstops of the electric drives was a bit out. They told me that they would come back to install some missing pieces and adjust again once the blinds have stretched a bit. The flashing was installed some month after but the installer said they can't adjust, that was the electricians job who installed but never came back to adjust.
Every contact I had with Modern since then I was promised return calls from the responsible party which didn't happen until the warranty ran out. I was then advised that because the warranty ran out i had to pay a callout fee!
3 weeks ago a technician finally came out to check and adjust the blinds but when he saw them he said he can't do it because they are too high and he doesn't have the right equipment. Note that it is the same company that installed them sending a technician ill equipped for the job. Thereafter a lady called me advising the adjustment would come at a cost of $2000, a third of the original price for both blinds. When I requested a review of this price since i had contacted them many times about adjusting before warranty ran out, I was promised a review and call back, which of course did not happen.
Now left with wonky blinds for a 20% premium. Should have read reviews about Modern first since I find many similar cases there. Apparently the owner is trying to contact bad reviews and I am happy to amend if that happens

Have called and emailed this company many times to arrange a quote, but no-one returns my call. I would hate to be a customer and trying to fix a problem with their work. (I will change this review once I get a call back from Modern.)

I have just had outdoor blinds installed on my patio and I am extremely happy with the look, product and service I have received. From the beginning there has been exceptional service from both Sarsha and Teresa. Sarsha was able to promptly arrange for Teresa to come out and worked around my availability. Teresa was amazing. She listens and asks questions to understand what you want/need and then throughly explained the products and the benefits of them and also why certain products would be better suited to you because she has listed to what you need/want it for. I love that it’s on runners and locks into place. I like that you can have this halfway up and it’s secure so it won’t fall onto children. I like the seal across the bottom, no gaps. Teresa was also so patient with me and my young children. My outdoor patio with blinds looks amazing. The blinds have really made a difference not just to the look but for the reasons I wanted them (privacy, wind) - Thank you I love them!

Love my plantation shutters.
I was really impressed with the service. Had almost 3 hours of cosulation at my home. The staff had immense knowldege and helped me to make informed decision. I was educated on different types of shutters that existed and the detail of work involved to make each of them. The staff helped me to choose shutter that fits our need. On 2nd day of installment i got compliment from the delivery guy. I am so glad to have chosen modern group to create an outstanding looks to my home. My space looks amazing and the product is bryond my expectation. Thank you team for being on top of communciation and service.

Called up and booked an appointment with them to come and look at the property and provide a quote. Explained to them at the time of booking, that the house is still under construction, just at the final stage of build. They were completely OK with that, offered a later date appointment, but wanted to come at the earliest.

On the actual date of inspection, told them that I won't be giving a decision to purchase the shutters today itself, as I have other people coming to provide a quote. Immediately, the sales person, was looking to make reasons not to visit us. He wanted to come after the other guys. He did not want to come in that day, started asking unrelated questions, such as my job and where I work, probably to assess whether I can purchase their product?

Very unprofessional. They do not respect other people's time. I am glad, I did not go with them.
