Mistress of Spice / The Lavender Cottage reviews
25 On different occasions we've tried cookies, brownies and croissant and unfortunately it was all disappointing. The ham and cheese croissant was the worst by far - how can it be so dry? ! Won't be trying their food again. Coffee was ok, but I'm not picky with Coffee.
Service was decent.
This little Cafe caught our eye as we were driving by, with its pretty colour and romantic name. It was a little awkward to order smoothies as the menu board didn't clearly match the flavours available. We enjoyed our stop though and would call in again to try something else on the menu if we were in the area.
I had the loveliest customer experience at The Lavender Cottage this afternoon. First time visiting; I had popped in looking to buy a gift and was greeted and looked after like an old friend. The coffee smelt amazing and the home-baked goodies on the counter looked amazing. I will definitely be back.
This is by far the best cafe in Australia. Their Macchiato’s are divine. Highly recommended.
This place never disappoints. The coffee is always good and consistent, the cookies, muffins and other counter food is great. The curries and lasagne to take home are tasty and well priced. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Poorest service I've received in a long time. Seemed irritated that we'd dare come in for family afternoon tea in the last hour of trading. Took the furniture away 10 minutes before closing and made us stand on the path. Pick a new job, mate. You're clearly not interested in this one. And we're not interested in your attitude either.
I ordered platters for my son’s first birthday party from The Lavender Cottage and they were INCREDIBLE. We ordered sliders, scrolls and a fruit platter which was huge. Really reasonable pricing and they looked and tasted amazing. We were able to order separate boxes of food so that allergies/dietary restrictions were kept separate and the people attending were super thankful and loved all the goodies they received. I’d give more thank 5 stars if that was possible. Will certainly be ordering more platters in the future and until then I can enjoy the leftovers. Thank you Casie and The Lavender Cottage!
Great food. Beautiful setting. Very friendly staff. Was looking for a place that would cater for a small group setting of 9 or 10 people and they went out of their way to meet our needs. Also welcomed our puppy with puppy treats. Great little gift shop.
First time visit for me. Very friendly owners and staff. Coffee and light meals were all well prepared and promptly served. Really good value, had a most enjoyable time. Definitely recommend.
Friendly staff, great coffee and food. Has a few tables to sit at. Few odds and ends to purchase, like candles and chocolate. Highly recommended
They coffee there’s old saying it’s very hard to find good coffee now these days. The coffee at the lavender Cottage but perspective there’s an old saying everyone’s got their own preference in coffee I’m nothing like this, but I have a nice little shop inside idea. Birthday gifts nice presentation. I recommend it on the north side
Very beautiful cafe with its distinctive colour scheme, and friendly staff. A great choice for a coffee and quick snack. Plenty of roadside parking too.
I drive past this pretty little place often and finally took some time out today to visit. I hoped to sit in, have a coffee and a sandwich and do a little work. The staff were polite and the coffee was good. While I received my coffee in a mug, my toastie was later, plonked on my table in a paper bag and with the limited, squashed seating it wasn’t a pleasant environment to sit and relax. Good for take-away only.
Ordered some food, came out half frozen. Sent it back, came back out still very cold in the middle. I thought they serve only fresh food.
Been here a few times.
Happy & homely place (with great service)
Delicious coffee & drinks menu
Also serve yum homemade style foods and the best cookies!
Have assorted take home cooking too
Extremely friendly staff, great coffee and delicious food (well labeled and friendly to a range of dietary requirements). Their homewares and jewellery section is always a reliable source of last minute gifts. What more could you want in your local cafe? !
Absolutely love this place. Not only is their coffee and food great, but they all remember your name and your order and really make it a personal, family like experience.
A friendly Spice Emporium. Lots to see and taste. Coffee, cake and frozen meals to reheat at home.
Bacon and egg toast is with chutney was really good
Coffee was good but the vibe is very hodgepodge
For a little cafe pretty good, could be better lots of potential. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go here. But would go here before a lot of places good pricing outside seating is ok not a dress up sort of place.
Cute cafe in the burbs. Good coffee, friendly staff and a small selection of eat in foods. Try the muesli with a drop of honey or the smashed avo feta. The choc chip and Anzac cookies are delicious and addictive (tick of approval by an actual ANZAC).
