Mission Beach Visitor Information Centre reviews
25 To find d out what do do and what to see - this is definitely the place to get all the information. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
From there you have a short walk to the absolutely magnificent beach and your holiday starts.
Sorry, we just went to the beach. The best thing about the beach is that you can not see any buildings or cars. You don't have to travel as far as Chili beach in Cape, this will do me.
Thanks for the brilliant and friendly advice. We made it to Frankland Islands after your suggestion and we're so glad we did! Loved the rainforest walks and managed to see a two cassowary, one with a chick which was special!
Mission Beach is a beautiful place, probably my favourite stop on our trip.
Delightful and informative, with charming volunteers and the most beautiful rainforest garden. Big kudos to the lovely volunteer who told us we might see cassowaries at Garner's Beach - we did! A great place to stop for information, gifts, brochures, toilets, and coffee from the van in the car park who also sells Kransky sausages in buns. Plus two model cassowaries which are.different, for sure:)
A quant little place shrouded in its own canopy.
The lady who attended to us, was gold, and such an asset to the visitors centre.
Thank you for your help particularly wrt caravan parks in the area.
Helpful staff but my advice is don’t pay for any trips or activities in cash.
I booked a scuba diving experience on the reef and payed in cash. Unfortunately the crew would not let me dive due to asthma, despite my holding an Open Water dive certificate. I received a partial refund from the cruise dive company but had to claim back the balance from the information centre. They will only refund in cash which as a tourist is ridiculous, I have asked them to send it to a charity but they are completely unresponsive. BE CAREFUL!
At the beginning of November 2022 my husband and I (tourists from Germany) booked a snorkelling tour to the Great Barrier Reef in the „Mission Beach VC“ and paid for it right away in cash.
We were intended to go with Mission Beach Dive.
The money went to Tropical Coast Tourism.
The tour was canceled.
We are still fighting to to get our money back.
Today is December 28.
The EO in charge, Patrick Bluett from Cassowary Coast Tourism is telling us until this very day, that Bendigo Bank in Mission Beach (their business bank) had so far no possibilities to do international money transfers.
And by the way, the bank is not opening until 3rd of January.
(The bank‘s website says something different)
But in a few more weeks or so it could work out, according to Mr. Bluett.
If necessary, I will present the e-Mail dialogues.
No need for more words.
It's one of my favourite beach's in entire Australia. Just such a shame that you can't swim.
We were the only ones there and the volunteer was very helpful. Very small range of souvenirs but lots if brochures and maps.
Very informative and helpful staff member Lee pointed me in the right direction. He offered me multiple choices and all were great.
The staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and gave us heaps of choices and ideas for our trip in the area
Poache was great and gave us a great and entertaining info session on Box Jelly and Irukandji plus travelling tips.
Well done to the knowlegeable busy staff who had some many suggestions for our family to do, you would be surprised.
We received the best tips, advice and recommendations from a lady who worked here (didn’t get your name sorry!) She was so helpful and passionate and gave us reliable information. As a bonus, she told us an awesome spot to see turtles at a local jetty and within a minute we had seen one and many fish, rays and birds of prey. Thanks!
Very nice visitor centre, with friendly helpful staff. Provided me with the local bike and walking path map but did not know that a very significant proportion of the routes shown are on dangerous, narrow, fast, busy main roads with no dedicated pathways, forcing us to ride/walk on the highway. Mission Beach is NOT bike friendly.
A very beautiful location in Queensland; the staff at the information centre, are very friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Friendly volunteers, great help, dog friendly.interactive activities for everyone in C4 area.native plants for sale.right by the beach
Went from Cairns to Mission Beach to do Skydiving from 14,000 ft during my A310 co-Pilot ️ FO days on 11th May 1998? !
Your first stop on mission beach - all the info you need, access to public toilet, short walk to the beach.
Should be first stop for all people travelling through or visiting Mission Beach. Knowledgeable staff very helpful on where to go, places to see & how to get there. Dont hesitate to ask where they have a coffee, cold beer or dine.
Very helpful with all types of accomodations available in the area.
