Merrick's Noosa Learn to Surf

We were really disappointed about this lesson. The instructor didn’t really seem motivated.she didn’t gave us much feedback during the lesson.
We entered in water after 5min of theory, no warm up. It was a repetitive lesson without learning something new.
At the end, no one talked with us, no one cared how was it, and if we enjoyed.
It is just a business …

Took 3 lessons there. Very friendly staff, the instructors gave me lots of useful tips on how to improve my surfing! Highly recommend taking several lessons with them!

It was an incredible moment that was so well organized. The staff was amazing with us! Overall the best moment of our holiday. Do it!

One of the funnest experiences I had while visiting my daughter and family in Noosa, Australia. The staff was very knowledgeable and through their instructions, all 5 in our party got up and successfully rode a wave. At 62, I wasn't too steady but Instructor Rob never failed to encourage me and was so patient while trying to help me. It made me so happy to see my grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law do so well and their happy faces let me know we made a great choice.

After 2 years of surfing without having had proper instructions I was failing at even popping up on surfboard. I attended a 5 day lesson with Merrick's Surfing School and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were given the same instructor for the duration of 5 days (Crof) and with proper guidance and individualised feedback I was catching Left/Right unbroken waves and turning with ease plus moving up and down the surfboard. Thank you Crof for making this such a memorable experience and we'll be back to Noosa to catch up with you soon Also huge thanks to the rest of the crew: Yanik, CJ, Luis, Rob, Paul and of course Merrick!

Our family of 5 had the pleasure of a beginner surf lesson on December 16 2022. We were at the end of the day at a busy time of year so I thought there would be not a lot of actual being able to catch waves. I was so wrong… these guys were so incredibly talented at their jobs that we all, including 17 year old son, were completely exhausted with huge smiles. The staff could not have been more professional, amusing, patient and fun. We all felt like we were treated with such respect and felt safe the whole time. Absolutely loved this whole experience and would recommend this team to anyone.

Fantastic experience! Everything was so well organised, amazing value for money and the instructors were so helpful and encouraging. I was a complete beginner and by the end of the lesson, I felt so much more confident and had such an incredible time surfing. Thank you so much for such an amazing morning!

We went for a team building exercise and it was SO MUCH FUN! The instructors were super knowledgeable and made us all feel safe and comfortable. The way the instructors communicated made a complex skill easy to understand. We will definitely be back!

Having never surfed before, and in fact having not much prior experience with the ocean, I signed up for a 5-day surfing course with my partner and friends as a personal challenge. I set myself the goal of being comfortable in the water with a board and being able to pop up, but I far surpassed my expectations. Under the instruction of Crawford, by the end of the five days I was catching green waves independently and turning! Crawford was a phenomenal teacher, providing individualised feedback and encouragement, and teaching us many important things not just about surfing, but also the ocean and how to pick a board. Crawford and everyone else at Merrick's surf school were so friendly and approachable, and we really enjoyed chatting with everyone before and after classes. Can't recommend this surf school enough!

Instructors were super personable, honest, and did their best to get everyone standing on their first lesson! They were patient but also blunt with how we can improve. It helped it was a smaller group but would definitely recommend them

I had 2 intermediate lessons with Anthony and he was brilliant. He encouraged us all and got me standing up on my first unbroken wave, caught a few more waves before my lack of fitness kicked in. Anthony showed me I could catch unbroken waves which was awesome. I will definately be back.

Thanks so much, Josh, for an outstanding introduction to surfboarding. You were so encouraging, inclusive, considerate and kind through it all - you have an incredible manner with children as well as adults. Our 10 year old daughter absolutely LOVED surfing this morning, and we felt reassured she was safe and being looked after on the waves. You are an absolute credit to Merrick. Brilliant work, thankyou very much again.

Brilliant instructors, great vibe. Very highly recommended. (7 and 9yo boys). We've come back at the trail end of the season, and still brilliant.

Such a great trip! Jason and louis were amazing and so friendly, got me standing on every wave and stayed up until shore! Even got my mum standing, who has no balance at all.they were so great at teaching, very knowledgeable:) definitely recommend to fellow newbies -liv

Absolute legend Josh, got us on our feet in 20 minutes on the board and even paddled out behind the line-up. Would recommend to anyone interested in surfing. Makes sure everyone's safe and knows what's going on.
