Masjid Taqwa Brisbane Australia reviews
4 I haven't actually been here but I do love locally in the subdivision.
I have found attendees to be courteous and like the fact that when there are larger events they communicate it with the local community.
I think this is a great initiative and think it's great for the area. Others can definitely learn from this
Masjid committee is providing a very dissatisfying and poor service with regards to the community, enforcing “rules” associated with parking, leaving little to no room for discussion. Friday jummah prayers and during Eid this is most prevalent. This jummah today they closed the main gate while parking spots remain vacant inside. Very disappointing.
Reflecting on the Saturday classes,
Great "volunteers" teachers.
Great class day administration.
Clean and spacious mosque allowing our kids in the Saturday class to grow their ties with their religion norms and principles.
Yet, unfortunately a new Imam being nominated lately, in the opposite of all previous Imams who were soft hearted, flexible, approachable, understanding the real purpose and objective of the Saturday classes, the new Imam showed harshness and lack of understanding to the needs of the Muslim community in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane by dictating harsh rules that will only lead to kids forced to drop off from the Saturday classes.
Decisions like locking the doors on Saturday at 10 sharp, ignoring that kids might need minor flexibility of 15 to 30 min allowing them to stay engaged in their other saturday sports activities overlapping in some occasions with the classes start time, ignoring that kids as much as they need the islamic classes, they also need to stay engaged with their other activities which help them integrating more with the Australia social life.
Also increasing fees by 50% at one go, even for families with financial capabilities, this wasn't the best decision which doesn't algin with any inflation indices neither the Australian CPI (consumer price index).
All of the above can be discussed in mature way between parents and Imam, yet the new Imam was dictating the new rules to the parents with no room to discuss or challenge.
