Maryborough Showgrounds and Equestrian Park reviews
45 It's a book yourself in camping area.
Book online or ring the council during weekdays. Camping area is up one end and very well set up. Power water bitumen roads between to rows.
Clearly defined sites. Not in Maryborough but close enough for short drive to all the required shops etc.
Mary River is not too far away, more than likely within walking distance of Showgrounds. Great spot, will stay again.
Very good clean facilities - good prices $45 for two people for two nights - SADLY RUINED BY MEAN RUDE AGGRESSIVE ADMINISTRATION because we stopped 100 meters short of the camp area and facilities to answer the phone for work and for better recption and were harassed twice in 5 minutes yelling "you can't camp here" (weren't camping in that spot just talking on the phone) accused of not paying - threatened with a security guard - all totally unnecessary - came away with a really bad vibe from the abusive way we were treated - the admin apology (that has been removed for some reason) did not need cunningly crafted comments of "safety for all" (there was no safety issue as I am a former safety officer from another life) common courtesy and speaking not yelling at people with false accusations of non payment arising from their clumsy check and threats of security guards - shameful appalling behaviour
Easy to book online. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Plenty of space to spread out between other campers. Has a fenced and secure gated play area for dogs and plenty of places to walk your furry friends around grounds
However there is lack of shade on the open pitch so in Summer, if you are staying a few nights I advise to head off somewhere cooler during the day.
Used showgrounds as an overnight caravan stop. Well maintained, plenty of space, nice and quiet. Truck stop nearby with DEF and separate coffee house. Booked on line, arrived 3pm, no one on site, office number diverted to council call centre. No signs indicating where to go - turn right when you go through the gates for camping, it's right up the back. First row deep enough to stay hooked up as long as you can reverse in straight. Nice tasting water. Left at 0900, never saw any council nor grounds staff. Dogs permitted on a leash only - plenty of horses around, some dogs not familiar with horses.
We camped there because couldn't get into Harvey Bay no regrets we enjoyed staying there
Huge area so many powered spots lots of picnic tables and chairs. Lots of toilets and showers that were good.
Excellent camp. So many sites to choose from. Would like to see some people obey the dogs on leash at all times though. Not everyone appreciates dogs roaming around on the loose.
Swap meet Maryborough has a large variety of stall holders. Mainly aimed at the petrol head minded people. From motor bikes to cars, antiques and some arts and crafts. Ample parking and a double stall is $25 with camping so you can setup the day before. The swap meet ends around 1-2 pm. Around 250 stalls with good amenities for toilets. Also camping available for visitors ($5 entrée for the swap meet) starts at 6 am.
Amenities really need to be thoroughly cleaned, they are very dark and look unkempt, the floor is very dirty and the mop provided to dry the shower area is absolutely filthy. I would really suggest the area have a power washer/gerney used to clean the entire space, and perhaps some sort of fragrance solution used. The toilet bowls seem to be clean enough, but the dirt on the outside of them near the floor makes the space look like it has never been cleaned. The value for a site with power is very good though. The only down side to the grounds is lack of shade.
The Maryborough Showgrounds have powered sites, toilets and showers that were extremely clean and well looked after, I would recommend this place to all. I would like to thank Ros as she could not do enough for us to make our stay so enjoyable.
It's a show grounds. Facilities are good. On the day had people direct parking which mad for ease of entry and exit.
Thank you for having us stay in the grounds so clean. Plenty of room excellent facilities. Will defently be promoting this.
Love being able to stay so close to town, reasonable rates with water and power. Thankyou Maryborough always love visiting your town and this allows us to do more, see more and shop more.
Fantastic event Rodeo, Rythym & Revs. Brilliant. Ute barrel races, horse barrel racing, calf roping, bull riding, bronc riding, best mullet competition, and more. Lots of people, great food and entertainment. Thanks Fraser coast Marborough council for advertising and making it possible.
Had a great evening with family and friends at the annual Maryborough Food and Groove night. Great place to relax.
Very popular spot. Be early for a site. Great Sunday markets. Amenities clean and camping area keep tidy.
Nice spot. Spacious sites. Can pick own spot. A bit noisy at night with traffic noise from bruce highway.
What a fantastic showgrounds. We will definitely be back here. The Amenities are clean, liquid soap for hand washing, paper towels. The whole grounds is immaculately kept absolutely no rubbish in sight. Congratulations Maryborough Showgrounds you have done yourself proud.
Pleasant, clean camping sites. Far enough away from the highway noise. Will definitely stay there again.
Spacious, clean, with all the basic facilities and only 5 mins to town. All at a reasonable price. Ideal for a short break 3 days max.
