Mamasan Kitchen + Bar

The dining experience fell short of expectations; while the presentation was appetizing, the meals lacked intensity of flavour. Additionally, seating on hard stools at small tables made it challenging to get comfortable. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay to explore the dessert menu. Despite this, our server provided excellent and lovely service.

Recommend updating the booking function to advise seating on stools at high tables.

Had a previous fantastic experience at this venue and pre booked early to ensure we had a table for our visit to GC. Unfortunately when we arrived for our booking we were made to wait as the prior customers hadn’t vacated. They made us wait for 20 minutes which wouldn’t have been as bad had the waitstaff not been so incredibly rude about it or there hadn’t been empty albeit reserved seating around. Regardless we were anticipating the food to be good so persevered. Unfortunately, the food was so disappointing and way overpriced. The whole experience would’ve been better left as a happy memory, we won’t be coming back or referring friends any longer.

Mamasan is AMAZING! A group of 8 of us recently enjoyed the banquet and many, many cocktails there - and it was all superb. Our waiter Christian was very patient with us, and so professional. Two of us required gluten free options - we were well catered for, with some of the best gluten free dishes we’ve ever eaten. Thank you to all the team who made this such a wonderful experience - we can’t wait to come back!

Awesome spot! Great atmosphere, some live music would top it off. Service couldn’t be better. Food was really good, portions ok size. We got wagyu bao, kfc chicken which had the best crispy skin and pork belly. The pork was a bit chewy but overall I would happily return.

Great service, we didn't have a reservation but they were accommodating. Staff are very attentive. Had a great experience. Loved the crab ravioli Jada was amazing

All of the food was amazing. Great flavours and presented lovely! Definitely recommend the pork san choy bou, chicken wings, and bao buns!

Extremely selfish, unempathetic, money hungry business.

I was a no show and got charged the full amount. My fault there. I am from the US and my calendar got screwy when I was in GC and I misjudged my time.

I tried to call and speak with the managing team to explain my situation. They had zero sympathy and fully charged me. After submitting a dispute due to management not willing to work with me, I was told in an email from Mamasan to close my dispute to receive a partial refund (half) from them. I closed my dispute immediately. More than TWO MONTHS later, I still received no partial refund. I ended up emailing again and after having received zero response for TEN days (I sent multiple emails), I emailed Mamasan indicating I would reopen my dispute. After telling Mamasan that and reopening my dispute, they finally responded and said they delayed because they have been busy due to holiday hours and told me to not reopen my dispute. It was already too late at that point and, unfortunately, I lost that dispute. Even though I submitted the very emails themselves of Mamasan indicating they would refund me and DID not refund me, the credit card company said that some businesses do that to get the chargeback removed and that type of correspondence is strictly between the business and the customer.

What a nightmare. I am shocked at how vicious and disgusting this customer care is. So much of my time and money and energy were wasted - I am warning you customers that might want to go here: stay far away. They don’t deserve your business.

As walk-ins to this busy restaurant, six of us lunched at Mamasan on our first day in Gold Coast.
I ordered the Spanner Crab Ravioli Dumplings and while I knew there would only be 4 of them, the portion size seemed exceedingly small. Two additional dumplings would have been a perfect portion, though I'm not sure I would be willing to pay extra given 4 were already $32. More of an issue was the 3/4 inch piece of shell in my first bite of dumpling. While the dish tasted delicious, I was very wary as I ate it; fortunately no further pieces of shell appeared.
Two others in our party enjoyed the Singaporean Snapper Curry; another the Pork Bao and Wok Fried Vegetables; and the other two demolished the Tuna Tartare and Crispy Shandong Chicken.
Dessert for me, and three others at our table, was the Jasmine Rice Panna Cotta which was fabulous, and others said the Mamasan Chocolate Brownie was too.
My rating would have been higher but for the portion size of my dish and the piece of shell.
Would return for another meal.

The food is so minimum given the price. Extremely unhappy that we were asked to leave after 2 hours for dinner. So Rush and no time to talk to my friends. Will not come again. Staff was very nice though

Fantastic service and kudos to the establishment for how you handle allergies - a designated allergy menu! Ahead of the game!

The food is super yummy, ambience and service are great. Shout out to Ella who served us shes a pro and the best receptionist Jade. Also the bartender is on point on the cocktails. Highly recommended.

Great food but absolutely appalling service. We had waiters come up to us within thirty minutes of us arriving saying that we needed to order because they had another booking coming in in 1hr and 45 minutes. We then waited for another 40 minutes for our first round of cocktails. Food was placed on the table without server announcing what it was. Waters were empty for 10-15 minutes at a time. When asking questions we were met with short answers and just generally felt unwelcome. We were given our bill and then waited for another 10 minutes for waitress to return in order to pay. Absolutely shattered as we all thoroughly enjoyed our food.

Walked in with a family. Arrogant beard, glasses, 180cm guy at the counter didn't even bother looking at us, until I said someone going to help us! Giving silent treatment to potential customers, is not a good way wo win the business. Didn't even try to find a spot, said fully booked that's it. The restaurant not even quarter full after a meal just across. Not sure why we got discriminated, but recommend avoiding this place. I assume it was the looks, somehow my money wasn't good enough for this place.

Wonderful fresh food and flavours. Had the Tuna Tartare, Sashimi trout, miso cod and all were top notch. Dessert was the jasmine rice panacotta…. Also very yummy. I would definitely go back again to Mamasan.

Beautiful venue. Great cocktails. Visited with a vegan friend so only tried the vegan options-but would definitely return to try the rest of their menu!

I booked the table here last night with my partner for my birthday.
But I had a terrible experience.
We waited 10mins even though we was on time. Because they didn't ready to make table for us. So we tried to choose food first while we wait our table.we sit on the table and tried to order straight away.but the waitress was gone quickly after served water. We ordered 2 meals and drinks in 10mins.then the 1st meal (Pork Buns) and drinks served. We enjoyed and waited next food. However we cancelled our next food and get out the restaurant because we waited for 40mins for the next food. We stayed at there for 1 hour 20mins with only buns and drinks. They made me wast time and make more starving. They ruined my birthday dinner time.

They even charge bit expensive price but low service. I'm very disappointed about their service. If your restaurant busy, please get more staffs that look after customers table.staffs are looks very busy and can't take care much.

I won't recommend this place and come back here.
