Lighthouse Care Hillcrest reviews
53 Didn't have any trolleys available.
Also went to buy snacks for the kids with it being the school holidays but there was nothing definitely not as discounted as it used to be.
Hello to everyone!
Please support these people.
The help the less fortunate. The more you shop, the more they give.
Great shop, for cheaper food stuff, a bit out of the way but worth a look, great for collecting lunch box fillers, for adding to kids lunches ect.
I would just like to thank lighthouse care for my volunteering job at Hillcrest love the job and the staff especially Gail Mark Tina Tara Ian and Shaylaand yes we have had the 25 dollar trolley and I think it is great you couldn't get that food for that in major supermarkets
I feel really ripped off. False advertising. $25 'trolley' and what I got was 3 small boxes with things that I can't use to make one meal? ! This is really disgusting considering it's a service for people in need. I have used other services and never had to leave a bad review.
I have been struggling and going hungry so that I could at least ensure my child eats and I was imagining the trolley full of groceries would at least see us through the week with me being able to make a meal that I could make last. Where are the pantry staples? Pasta or rice? Pasta sauce? Simple things like that.
I could have spent that $25 at Aldi or Woolworths and got more out of it. Instead now I am worse off because I have wasted $25 and now have to somehow come up with the money to get groceries still.
Discusting.next to nothing to choose from the 25$ trolley is about 10$ worth of out of date food.taking advantage of people in need.il never go back I wouldn't except there food even if it's free.after going there
*My order was not a home delivery order. *

Your $25 full a trolley doesn't match your website. Went to the Hillcrest store this morning after watching Lighthouse Care on the news last night hoping it would get my family and I by but the trolley wasn't even half full. On top of that, your website states that your foods aren't out of date - they may have "best before dates" but we got home to realise most of our cold stuff was infact, out of date by more than 6 months!
Bought 9 uncle bens perri perri rice packets and when i microwaved 1 to eat with my lunch i started to feel sick and felt soemthing was not right - checked the use by date and it was 6 months past its use by date. Chucked apl 9 packets in the bin and spent all day feeling sick. If shopping here just check the useby date. Not a good experience for my first visit.
The $25 trolley is great value and for me a great top up when funds are low. Also a great range of snacks for the kids lunch box or school holidays. Staff are always friendly and helpful
Good place to go you must know prices from other shops they do have a lot of multi buys also good range of school snacks its like a small supermarket has items for everyone also you can get a trolley full of food for $25 has bread milk tin and frozen food along with other things always different everytime you get one has a few in front parking and also around the back parking
Lovely place to shop with lots of bargains each week. Definitely worth a visit to keep your grocery bill down. And the staff are wonderful and helpful. The $25 Shopping Trolley is a must - packed to the brim with essentials plus some goodies.
I was very happy with the helpful an caring staff members. Quick service an for anyone that is struggling this is the place to go. Im actually in hardship atm an needed assistance with food.a very nice lady i wish i got her name cause she organised a trolly filled with food for free. They also have a good range of products. Prices are super cheap.i recommend people to try it out.thanks lighthouse.
It's a great idea but the $25 trolleys need to be better thought out. When people are down on their luck they need thing like bread, milk, pasta, rice, butter, eggs, fruit and veges, not 4 tins of dog food (we don't have a dog), 2 hand washes, six packs of antibacterial wipes, 2 bottles of disinfectant spray, 4 bottles of sunscreen and so on. While we did get some eggs and fruit and veges and even some bread that was dropped off later due to a mistake, the trolley lacked thought for struggling people. Some of the food was also very stale tasting but most was fine. I would have been happy with one bottle of sunscreen included or a bottle of handwash but food should be the main part if people are struggling and trying to budget with little money. I wouldn't get a surprise $25 trolley again especially if you are paying $15 extra in delivery fees.
Great bargains, some are at shop prices, some are hugely reduced. Muesli bar boxes for a dollar!
Amazing place, especially when times are tough and you need to budget. Staff are so welcoming and kind. Thanks guys
They've got alot of school snacks and freezer and you can fill your cupboards up for a good price also get a trolley of food for $25
Amazingly priced. Friendly staff. I don't know how I'd survive without this integral part of the community:)
The lighthouse is not a but I think it has gone down hill. I used to be able to go to the front desk and ask for a $25 fruit and veggie pack and it would be at the front of the store waiting for you now they give you a ticket and make you go around the back to get it.and it is out side in the sun and rain
A great place for our weekly shop to save a bit of money. The $25 trolley deal is an absolute steal. The cost of the items in the trolley adds up to be way more than the $25. We find it bulks up our cupboard and fridge enough without having to fork out loads at the major supermarkets so we never go hungry. Like other’s have said, there is a slight issue with some things being off or will be in a couple of days, but honestly, we’ve had milk that said it needed to be used by a certain date and we kept using it up to a week after. If you know what you are smelling for, you are set (if it smells sour do not touch it). We have been fine so far. Roger in particular has been good to us. Always so friendly and helpful. All the staff are welcoming, I would dare say so much more than Logan’s Lighthouse Care. We originally went there first as it’s closer to us but the staff weren’t as nice and the trolley’s you got seemed to be poorly packed compared to those at Hillcrest. The cold stuff was not kept cold. The trolley just sat out in the store for who knows how long. It was worth the drive to Hillcrest instead. Parking is limited but generally you can get a park close enough as not many people visit at any one time.
