Visited today with my service/assistance dog who has the same legal rights of access as a guide dog.
Young female staff member tried adamantly telling me dogs aren't allowed in the store.
Even after being informed that he's a service dog (clearly marked on his vest), and that denying access is a breach of the federal disability discrimination Act and an illegal act on her part personally as well as her employers part, she kept insisting he's not allowed in the store.

Section 9 of the disability discrimination Act 1992 sets out the legal definition of an assistance animal as a dog or other animal that:

(a) is accredited under a State or Territory law to assist a person with a disability to alleviate the effects of disability; or

(b) is accredited by an animal training organisation prescribed in the regulations; or

(c) is trained to assist a person with a disability to alleviate the effect of the disability and meets standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place.

In future this will be dealt with by a solicitor and the human rights Commission.

It's no different to telling a blind person their guide dog isn't allowed in the store.

Called in to grab a couple of burgers our way home and found kitchen closes at 12 o'clock. What takeaway closes at lunchtime on a Thursday.
It reply to your response Katy, there was nothing to explain why you were closing kitchen, I just assumed it was a daily event, as to how good your food is now, we will never know, and further more will never call in again when passing due to your sarcastic reply.

Bacon & egg rolls are unreal, coffee great, prices, service and friendliness typical country people

Great place to stop on our trip. Always drop in for a coffee and breakfast or lunch. Chips are great. Relax before heading down the Highway to Brisbane and on the way back to get the city traffic out of the system.

Stopped for breaky the bacon and eggs roll was so fresh and the coffee was nice I will be calling in there from now on everytime I go to toowoomba

Thank you Katie for a scrumptious lunch as we passed through Kilkivan today. My Bacon & egg wrap was delicious, as was the coffee and fish & chip packs we had also. You were soooo busy (Easter Monday) and were fully under-the-pump but you still managed a lovely smile and awesome customer service ️. We'll done to you and your team, Katie

It was the increase in the price of your Norco milk that rattled us. $1.50 increase on 2 ltrs of milk. I've increase your star rating as it was not so much the service or food.

Looks fairly unassuming from the outside, but if you have any reason at all to stop for food, would recommend stopping here! We had a steak burger and roast chicken roll, they were both delicious, and huge!

Looks can be deceptive. My partner and I stopped for breakfast and coffee right on opening time on Sunday. What a treat! I had the onion ring beef burger, my partner a fresh bacon and egg sandwich and we also had a couple of coffees. Service was fast and pleasant and the food was first class as was the coffee. Great place to stop for a break. Well done, very impressive.

Do yourself a favor and stop here on the way through town, food & coffee is always amazing! Burgers and toasties are to die for! Can not recommend highly enough.

Very good coffee, a tad dear but at a price a wonderfull customer service.
Pies are good too and not overpriced.

It's a great little takeaway convenience store when it's open. Always served with a smile from the staff. Go there & you'll see what I mean, but don't forget to Qcode checkin on entry though. I gave 4 stars only because they close the kitchen at 3pm. Too early for my dinner. I miss having a burger from there, for dinner now. I have to travel to Goomeri servo from Killie, worse luck! It was better before covid when I could buy a burger just before 6pm.

Katie, the owner is so lovely. We have been here many times and have never been let down. They keep 'country' times but at least they're reliable, and you know when they'll be open.
Good food, freshly cooked. Great coffee. Fabulous, quick service.
Now, all you need is a laid back musician in the court yard. Pick me.hehe.
