Awesome old hotel with amazing history. Worth a visit to explore, enjoy a cool drink and stay for dinner. Staff and management terrific. Use as a base to go to Cosmos Cent, WW2 base and RFDS.

Lot of manipulation going on this place.
Backpackers are been exploited.
Owner is a scam.
Makes fall promises to the staff.
Very aggressive Ben reported to the police and Fair work Australia be careful.
Staff are also working without RSA.
Only one qualified chef.
Mr Paul has put a fake review.
Honestly lot of cheating going on.
Backpackers been exploited.
Barry has to be investigated.

On our recent trip out west, we had dinner on two occasions here. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The first night I had the Chicken Schnitzel and on the second night, I had the Barramundi. The Schnitzel was huge and I struggled to eat the meal. The wife had the seafood basket each night and really enjoyed it. The hotel is full of history and is heritage listed, so it has not been renovated, which adds to the charm. Awesome place.

Not the best feed I have ever had, chicken was a little dry. It was very convenient after driving all day to sit down and have a pub meal.

I went here for dinner. Great service and food was delicious. I had chicken schnitzel (with chops, coleslaw and plain gravy). The whole meal was very impressive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also beautiful - it really values the history of the town, I enjoyed all the old photos and descriptions of each photo. The only downfall is there’s no wifi and my phone did not have reception at Charleville.

We absolutely loved the hotel and its warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a wonderful historical experience which we highly recommend.

What a great old bar and seating area with a fire between the bar and the dining room. Food was excellent - served within time and well cooked. Would recommend.

Sadly.staff don't care about whether your meal is OK or not. Try to tell them and they just walk off. Disappointed with the meal after spending that amount of money you a steak

A nice old classic outback historic pub. Friendly staff, cold beer. The menu was basic which I have no issues with. The parmy was pretty good but the veg was over cooked. If the veg was good then I’d have bumped up the score half a star. I’d certainly go back.

It's such an amazing example of years gone by. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious.it's worth a visit.

The manager was very helpful regarding suitable gluten free options for us, though the staff didn't seem to have any knowledge on the matter and we ended up leaving chips untouched on the plate (we'd been offered mashed potato because the chips were not gluten free but chips were served anyway - by this stage we just wanted to eat and go to bed so let it be).
The rest of our meal was delicious. We would definitely go back if we're in the area again.

The building is beautiful and the history has been well preserved and presented. I wish we'd had time to do a tour.

Mark was very friendly when we booked over the phone and amazing when we arrived. The beer was cold and the food was great. This is a must visit in Charleville

Visited Charleville & enjoyed 3 meals here.
All delicious. Service from staff was 5Star. Cheers to barman Mark for welcoming us each time. Great bar area, great atmosphere.

Historic hotel with a display upstairs dedicated to the family that started the hotel.
Staff were friendly, the food was fine, Wifi was solid, and the Showers were hot.
Tap water was from the great artisan basin, the hotel provided bottled water. Depending on how much you drink, either BYOB or let the water stand to let the gases escape.

One of the most historic and iconic hotels of Outback Queensland. If you are in Charleville it's a must to drop in, have a beer and check it out, particularly the longest bar in Oz.

The room reminded me of the old nurses quarters at the royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra hospitals: A bed, 12 inch TV, no fridge and communal tea and coffee facilities. There was no chair in the room and it was very basic. There was no power points in the bathroom or a desk to work from, it was only good to sleep in and I left early in the morning as there was no breakfast available that I was aware of. I'm sorry, but there are better places to stay. The food in the restaurant was average. Hearing the noise from the pub downstairs didn't make me feel safe. I was booked in there for work and have given the travel agency feedback not to book people there again.

We didn't stay so can't rate the rooms. No table service at the restaurant, very expensive and limited menu. Food was good, but overall it was ok.

We did not stay at the hotel but did the tour. Very interesting history of the founding family.

In the centre of town, truly beautiful hotel. It was very informative and great detail. Yes I would recommend this to all.
