If only we could leave 0 stars. Never ever shop here. Staff are only nice when you are ordering something and then you’ll never get your order or you’ll pay for delivery and never actually receive your goods. Or better yet, you’ll pay for delivery and they will insist you just come pick up a bulky item and do their job for them! They also lie on public forums and state refunds have been processed when they haven’t actually even actioned them yet.

*This is not blackmail/you have chosen to turn a patient customer (who chased you up for 7 months re a faulty product) into a disgruntled one and I am sharing my honest review of what has happened.
There was no confirmation of a delivery window, no phone call from your delivery driver as promised & no confirmation of time to this date when he was here or evidence.
A voice recording from yourself stating, "we will be collecting your sofa today BUT need to confirm you will be home" Which I didn't respond to - who sends a driver out if it wasn't confirmed? Your driver wasn't on the Gold Coast for us, they slotted us in to your schedule however there is no evidence the sofa was even attempted to be collected. We will wait to hear from the ACCC.

I'm totally shocked reading these reviews. I gave this same information to the owner and lodged a complaint with the ACCC this evening. I have asked Joe/Melissa to get back to me by Monday and I will remove the complaint and review.

In the meantime, my review is similar to so many here which is disheartening - I have also been blocked from the facebook group (which is shocking and and unprofessional? Perhaps they're worried I will share photos of our sofa?)

My sofa was delivered faulty (the foam on the chaise has been cut short so dips down half way) and I have been chasing this company since July 2023.

It is now December and I still haven't had my sofa collected (despite it being a requirement under ACCC consumer law for large and bulky items) as they are now claiming their driver was waiting for me, despite no calls and no records on our security cameras. They are now being petty enough to ask that we pay for the collection of the faulty sofa. I have already paid for delivery (which I am also entitled to claim compensation for under the ACCC).

26th July - Photos of sofa sent to Melissa/waiting for another company to come and view

1st August - Follow up email/no reply

8th September - Emailed to tell me they couldn't replace as out of stock. Asked if I wished to choose a right hand chaise or alternative. I asked for a refund with no response.

13th September - Followed up with an email. No response.

15th September - Followed up with an email. No response.

19th September - Followed up with an email. No response

20th September - Melissa emails to tell me they will refund but they are moving warehouses and this will take a couple of weeks. I said that's fine and was understanding.

20th October - Followed up with an email. No response.

24th October - Followed up again and finally got a response. Confirmed they can collect and asked what date suited me.

4th November - No response to confirm pickup time since the 24/10 email.

6th November - I finally got a response to confirm their driver would be on the Gold Coast on the 8/11. I said that should be fine and to please let me know a time. Melissa replied to say she could not give me a time but the driver would be phone me an hour before collection. I did not reply.

8th November - No phone call from driver as promised, and a phone message from the owner asked me to phone him back to confirm that I will be home today so that they can collect the sofa. Husband said he was coming and going/so did not confirm day with owner and questioned that the booking was not confirmed by Melissa.

Assumed they would follow up with me to rearrange - but nothing. Emailed Melissa and was told we would have to pay for the recollection/despite not being able to confirm when the driver had arrived, and she stated he phoned me multiple times - however no missed calls and no messages.

We genuinely just want to get this resolved, we have ordered another sofa, and have already suffered a loss from the initial delivery of a faulty sofa.

Received our Byron Lounge today Ordered it 28/8/23 Joe served us and said we could have any Warwick fabric. I chose Beachcomber Mist and we picked a size a little smaller than the standard size 2500 x 2100 Modular. Joe said 6 weeks. I was a little skeptical due to the many 1 star reviews I read but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Did not disappoint Lounge was delivered today 2 weeks later than the estimated time but that’s here nor there. The guys that bought the lounge to our home on the Gold Coast charged $170 for delivery and did a great job bringing it into our home. Can’t complain about an 8 week turnaround for a new lounge to be built and fabric to be purchased. Very pleased with the outcome. Thank you Joe.

We were looking for a lounge using a quality dunlop foam (having been caught out in the past with cushions that didn't last the distance).

We live on the other side of town but the trip to see Joe at North Lakes to see the products that he has made locally was well worth it.

Joe was quick to offer solutions on how we could modify the sofa to make it a little higher (a necessity when you are getting a little longer in the tooth).

It has just been delivered and we couldn't be happier. Great product and good service.

And a big thank you to Melissa for being so patient with my questions when I called.

Sad to have to write this bad reference.
On the old site (damaged by flood) in Aspley: very nice staff. Nevertheless, the purchase process was carried out by the owner Joe. He made a mistake when writing it down an ottoman twice the size of the one we were sitting on in his shop and we told him to order. Two sizes are noted in his invoice. In bold letters the specimen is noted the regular size we wanted. Below, in small letters, he ordered a huge ottoman of 1.40 meters (!). It is also about very ugly spattered legs of the three-seater. We emailed him more than three times after the delivery date and wanted to offer him a solution where he wouldn't lose anything. We paid in full without hesitation, as he described the challenges they face after the flood in 2022. Sadly, the shop/owner do not answer or call us. Contrary to what they write on the website, he/they completely ignore us. On their website they write in beautiful words about customer relationships. Them reality can be completely different. Now, we just want to inform everyone about our experience. It is better to get a copy of the order in the shop (which Joe refused to give us saying, that he would email it). Fact: nice and very professional staff, sadly to say, quite the most disrespectful owner we have ever met. It is also sad that his store puts up with such mistakes on the customer side and that his manufacturers deliver such poor quality (legs). He's not about giving and providing what the customer needs and wants, once you've paid you need good luck. We still wish the shop a good fortune in Northlake and maybe more of walking the talk.

RUDE.wouldnt know what customer service is.
Ordered an paid for dining room table on 19th January, for delivery 3rd February. Never arrived. Called was told 3 weeks, its now July, almost 6 months later. I have never once recieved an update from this store I had to chase. Was advised a date 26th June.again called 5 times in two weeks and was told they are too busy moving stored and will try and deliver this week.woudnt recommend this store to anyone. Good Luck Home.

DO NOT purchase from this disgraceful company! We thought we were purchasing from a reputable business, not a joke factory. Our new lounge failed within 2 months, so we took photos of the material tearing and wearing so quickly that it looked like a 20 year old lounge, and emailed them, not just once, and no response. We went into the store and were then told, yes we have received your emails, and that we will give a full replacement within 4-5 months because of the poor quality that we were given. Of course this has not happened, and they are ignoring our emails again, and have blocked me on their Facebook account. The owner “Joe Lawton” is a terrible business person

After sale service is terrible, I was told 4-6 weeks for my bedroom suite and mattress and 6-8 weeks for my tall boy. I waited 5 months for my bedroom suite and 9 months for my tall boy. Contacted them many times to be told it’ll be in within 2 weeks and 2 weeks went by countless times and yet still no furniture. Reasoning for delay on tall boy was freight issues but they somehow got us replacement pieces for the broken bed from Sydney but not the tall boy. Didn’t make sense to me but I am glad to be done dealing with these people.

Your company sucks. You told me to read competitor reviews then proceeded to block me lol, I did and besides the ones that are obviously paid, they're all 1 star full on negative reviews. Awesome managerial response mate, great way to run a business. Here's hoping karma catches you

Read through the reviews. This company does not operate with truth, clarity or transparency. DO NOT ORDER UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO WAIT OVER 4 MONTHS FOR YOUR GOODS.

I was misled into believing I would receive my order in 2months. This is already a significant wait. 2 months later I am informed that the product I ordered has a 16 week production time. This is NOT advertised on their website- products are indicated as available.

I was also told all Australian made products are considered “custom made” whether you customise the product or not. This NOT clearly articulated in their website.

In seeking a refund the customer service team has continued to lie and mislead me. I have placed a complete with the Department of Fair Trading and my bank. Informing a customer after full payment that there would be a long delay on delivery is NOT informing the customer at the time the order was placed.

Sales experience was great, very helpful and friendly staff. There was a delivery problem but not from the store, the store owner did the right thing to rectify the issue.
Product is as displayed, the only concern is after sales communication. A simple phone call would have avoided any issue and the customer would be happy.

My partner and I keep returning here for our furniture. 2 bedroom suites and beautiful lounge for our home. Some huge delays with delivery due to covid but they communicated well enough to keep us up to date We are buying our second property and will definitely be looking at returning to furnish our new place. Staff are super friendly and don't make you feel pressured to buy anything.

Read through 'lowest score' reviews before purchasing from here and then if you still decide to proceed with buying you do so at your own risk. Very dishonest company who will happily take your money but will outright lie after they've acquired the sale. I simply could not believe the lies that were fed to me time after time after time by various staff members (the reason kept changing) when all I was enquiring about was furniture I'd paid for months prior. It took the threat of taking this company to A Current Affair and contacting my bank to 'charge back' my transaction that finally got me my refund.
Even the mention of the ACCC and Office of Fair Trade was met with the owner Joe shrugging his shoulders and saying 'Yeah go for it, people threaten us with that all the time'. I can honestly say I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, arrogant, condescending person in my dealings with Joe. I would absolutely dread when he answered the phone and I cannot believe he is still in business with the way he talks to his paying customers. Who would think that trying to support an Australian business and buying their furniture would turn into such a stressful horrible ordeal.

We have experienced The worst customer service ever, we purchased dinning table and couch from store month ago, and booked my delivery date. I planned my annual off and stayed home to receive delivery today.so this morning i rang them and spoke to this arrogant guy, who told me my furniture ready for delivery. After an hour later different person rang and told us they can't do delivery because there truck is broken down, and don't have my couch in store. This is an actual joke. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered a bed, was told 3 weeks, got invoice blew out to 4 weeks. Said this was ETA. No communication in between, day finally arrived, emailed for an update, got the same email again this is an ETA. I said i wanted a date and to look into it. Finally got a call back from Mr Attitude, saying it had arrived in their store and I would need to wait till Thursday for delivery. He even had the cheek of calling me a Karen! Never buying anything from these people again, really bad customer service!

Very dissappointed!
They had an ex display furniture sale. First in, best dressed, no holds. We found what we wanted and paid. While we were there someone went to purchase the same item and was told it had been sold. We left and then received a called that unfortunately there was a sold sign on one of the pieces so we would be refunded. We returned and the same piece of furniture was sitting in the trailer of the person who had been told it was sold to us. We assume he had a tantrum and we lost out.

I have had the best time experience every time from product to service from the team at Home Furniture. The items I have purchased have been amazing high end pieces that are of high quality. Love all the pieces I have and it’s always the first place I go to update my existing or to refresh my home vibe. Thank you and always 5 stars. Very happy shopper Steve!
