Extremely poor customer service. I had contacted them about an issue with my fridge 2 years ago, and had to constantly reach out over the months and year for any action to take place. Fast forward it is now 2024. Samsung have at least responded really fast, but are unable to progress with a replacement as everything has to be through Harvey Norman. It feels like a scam as they refuse to contact me (even though the manager said they would within 24 hrs). I am disappointed and I don't recommend this place ever.

Great if you want to buy a $5000 sofa named Zac. Their appliances are decent, comparable to other retailers, but for furniture, I'm sure the quality is great, but it's not only the price that makes it feel like you're at a rip off car dealership, it's the layout and these slimey salesmen that follow you and smack a bed like the roof of a car and begin to rattle off features in hopes to gain commission off a computer chair named Xavier for $45000.

I just want your RGB sofas that have cupholders, mechanical reclining and a massage function with a happy ending. I suppose I'm mad that I'll never be able to afford one and I'm venting my frustrations.

I would consider 95% of household furniture at Harvey Norman as top quality. Love the range of Australian-made items.

I am over the moon with my experience with Garden City Harvey Norman Photo Centre. I dealt with a lady named Sam a few days ago who helped me out tremendously with preparing photos for a funeral. She was very kind and helpful and I just wanted to send through a big thank you.

Myself and my family have been shopping at Harvey Norman Upper mt gravatt for many years. All the staff are really helpful and lovely. Especially our regular salesman Josh that we always go back to.
He is always so professional and always goes out of his way to give us a fantastic deal. All the team there are wonderful but we always go back to him.
He really cares about the customers.
He's the manager of small appliances but we go to him for everything including white goods etc.
I highly recommend Josh and his excellence is just outstanding. Thank you Josh for all your help over the years. We appreciate all you do for your customers.

I bought a fan in the store and the salesperson said it could blow 23 meters. But when I got home, it couldn't even blow 15 meters.
Harvey Norman wouldn't let me return, refund or exchange for other products. The staff has a bad attitude. I bought it only seven days ago, why can't I return it? This item doesn't help my room cool, I bought a rubbish and service. I will never go to Harvey Norman to buy anything again.

Poor customer service. Didn't care that a really expensive dining table had broken and it was clearly a manufacturers issue. The lady in the special orders area was very blunt and not compassionate at all. Didn't care at all. Won't be returning!

Pick up /delivery seem to be a big issue of this store looking at the comments. Verbally given a wrong address by the counter lady which has made us to drive almost an hour just to get our small item. Why does the store not enable pick up in the store but needs to drive all the way to another address for pick up?

This is the worst shopping experiences so far. Everyone please don’t go to sales Rhys Griffith as he is a lier and cheater. On 28/02/2022 my old mobile phone was broken and came to this shop to buy iPhone 13. I am a nurse and I have smartsalary discount 5% for electronics in Harvey Norman. However, the manager told me the 5% discount only applies to the full price, not sale price. I checked the terms and conditions, there is not such thing at all.
Then Rhys assisted me with shopping. He spent long time persuading me to sign the mobile phone plan. I was not interested in optus plan $69 dollars for 80 gb data. My previous mobile phone plan was with belong and it only charges me $ 20 dollars monthly and I don’t use much mobile phone data as home and workplace both have wifi. Then he started to lie to me that he will give me 500 dollars credit and said I can call Optus to get student discount as I am studying at the moment after signing the plan. Also, he kept repeating that it is granted 5 g service. I trusted what he said and signed this expensive mobile phone plan.
However, after two weeks, I found out my mobile phone only showed 4 g at home and workplace. I called Optus and tried to get student discount, but Optus refused to offer as this is fixed Mobile phone plan. I felt disappointed and went to Harvey Norman again, the manager Fraser helped to check and found out that there was no 5 g tower around my house and workplace at all, but he agreed for me to pay back the 500 dollars credit to Harvey Norman and he called Optus to change my plan to $45 for 20 gb data.also, he said he will help me to get student discount. After I paid off the $500 credit, the manager Fraser asked to wait for plan change.after one week, there was no any update. I called Harvey Norman, Fraser said I need to go to the store and signed the correction to customer authority form. Also, he got student discount for me, which will be $33.75 for 20 gb data, I appreciated. I went there and signed the form on 18/03/2022, then he asked me to go back home and wait.
After another week, there was no any update. I called them again, Frazer told me don’t pay any bill and wait. I received $105.96 bill for this gift card vice plan and it was overdue. Everyday I receive message and email from Optus about overdue bill, which is stressful and horrible experience.
On 01/04/2022, there was no any update in Optus app. I called Frazer again, he said he called optus team already and let me wait. I checked the optus app, the plan changed to $45 monthly 20 gb data, but there was no any changes about the previous bill and student discount.
I called Harvey Norman again today, the staff told me that manager Frazer is on leave for 2 weeks. The sales Rhys answered the phone, his attitude is absolutely nasty and rude. He asked me to pay the bill and optus will give credit on the second bill. Otherwise I have to wait for 2 months for this to be updated. He said he could not do anything for me. I said manager Frazer asked me not to pay the bill, but why you asked to pay the bill. He said well it will only influence your credit or you can wait for Frazer to come back, nothing he can do, then he hang up the phone.
I am still waiting for Harvey norma team’s reply. The experience is absolutely horrible to me. Everyone please don’t sign any mobile phone plan with them and don’t trust the sales Rhys!

This review is going to be a brief summary of my horrible, ghastly experience at Harvey Norman Garden City.

A few days ago, I bought the Samsung M7 monitor (see picture below) and it was quite a great monitor with all the functions I needed. However, a sales person was there, trying to convince me to buy a more expensive monitor with less functionality. He started to move the more expensive monitor to the checkout until I managed to force him to get me the monitor I came here to purchase. I aksed him whether the monitor included a USB-C cable and unfortunately, he did not know as well as other employees. That's when I realised it was ON THE BOX! Well, this goes to show how they do not know much about the products they sell and are simply there to make customers spend more money.

In the fridge section (I'm planning to buy a new fridge soon!), the employee there was helpful, thoughtful and very in depth. This is why this review earnt a 2 star instead of a mere 1 star.

Finally, at the checkout, for some reason, there was a error with my phone number as apparently, someone else had used it. This shocked me - I purchased a smaller item in another Harvey Norman and my name popped up with the phone number. The cashier was impatient and unwilling to resolve the problem at hand, instead focussing on making the deal and closing the shop. She kept snatching my phone and ID to check my name etc.

Overall, the employees at Harvey Norman, Mt Gravatt are impatient and are pure scammers (other than the occassional helpful person like the person in the fridge department!). This has not happened to me often in stores like JBHI-FI and even other Harvery Normans like the one near Aspley. I hope this feedback makes the employees in the area more helpful and have the required training.

Ron K and Greg T were absolutely fabulous, not just only during purchasing the furniture instore but also their after sales service was beyond compare. Their kind attention to solve problems, delivery issues was brilliant. This type of A1 service is hard to find these days but Greg and Ron make a fantastic team. Harvey Norman should be proud to have them!
