I must say I was a little reluctant to give these guys another go? The result.pleasantly surprised and glad I did.
My takeaway? Pretty simple. It wasn't "These guys" it was "New Guys" You've won me as a costumer again.
To Dave, thanks for your customer service, that wins hands down over experience. That'll come in time, keep up the good work mate.

Needed a few bits and pieces for a fit out for our yacht. A very large range of products, nice to support small local businesses.

Asked the shop owner if he knows of any materials that are made for sound deadening/reducing sound going through a wall.
He told me that the absolute best you can buy for this purpose is an acoustic foam tile, citing that sound studios use this stuff.
I bought around 60 of these tiles totalling $300.
Took it home, and tested one tile on a small test chamber i made for testing sound reduction and it did nothing to reduce sound traveling through a wall.
I tested it in combination with fibercement behind, as well as in front, no difference. It had no noticeable difference.
Confused, i called the local music shop to ask them if im doing something wrong, and they said the acoustic foam is not made for sound deadening and that it will make little to no difference in reducing sound travelling through walls other than a bit on very high frequencies.
They told me that acoustic foam panels are made for reverb reduction inside the room you are in. They are a sound absorber, not a sound deadener.
Learning that the Shop owner here said it was the very best you can get for reducing sound travelling through a wall, and finding out it does less than a piece of cardboard for reducing sound, i took it back, all still wrapped in its packaging as received (except the one i tested with, and asked for my money back, offering to buy one other product from him in good will.
He argued that im wrong, and the music shop owner is wrong and that it is made for sound deadening. He even said he will put the designers of the material on the phone to talk to me about it. When i asked him if the designers of the material confirm what i said, would he give a refund, he said no.
So he wont give a refund even if he finds out that the advice he gave me was completely wrong and the product he sold me was not made for what he said it was the very best product for.
Complete denial of his responsibility as a retailer in a retail trade. Never seen such an arrogant shop owner

WOW!
Unbelivably great service
Huge range of products
Prices less than expected
and free and helpful advice

I had only experieced that other chain brand, and was dreading entering as my requirements were for a complex situation.
They answered questions, explained options, cut to size, glued and guided me with what was needed for to make the cover.

Will be my only choice for future purchases - Thank you!
