Guzman y Gomez reviews
62Ordered for delivery. Got a quesadilla plus and a quesadilla. It was difficult to tell from taste whether the regular quesadilla had cheese on it. I ordered brisket with the quesadilla plus, there were a few pieces but only on roughly half it the quesadilla. The churros were the redemption here
Honestly I've loved there food. At Browns plains restaurant. But South Bank is absolutely God awful taste and the quality of there dishes
Poor service from unenthusiastic workers - frequent miscommunication from their end creating a poor dining experience
The chips were cold and stale, and the tacos were only filled 1/3 of the way up. Very disappointed
Went to dinner with a couple I know. They started arguing. They were so distracted I took their fries and churros. I'm not usually one to take sides.
Good and friendly staff. Never usually a long wait for food. If you don't mind the local pigeons wandering in scavenging for crumbs, the area's nice to sit too.
The shop probably had no control over how many people were to be rostered. The place had probably 50 orders but with only one person initiating and one person assembling the burritos. One other person had to prepare most of the orders. I watched Ubereats workers wait over 20 minutes for their orders so they definitely do not make much money per hour collecting orders from this GYG. Never once did I hear the staff call out my online order and I asked for it 20 minutes after the order collection time only to see him pull it out of the heater.
Food was fresh and fast, and I didn't feel heavy or sluggish after eating, like other fast food places can leave you feeling. I had the nachos and it was very filling and delicious.
Usually don't make bad reviews but they couldn't mess my order up more then they did. Ordered 2 nachos 1 veggie 1 mushroom and both came out as veggie, horribly made and missing things. When I asked for it to be fixed the shift leader said "I don't understand you have everything" then walked away and I was completely ignored. The compensation for the complete mess of food I received was horrible. Will not be recommending or returning to this unorganised store. Hopefully changes are made.
We used to get weekly takeaway from here. Was good for a few months. Sometimes the food is ready when we get there, other times it's a 30min wait. On 3 separate occasions, we kept checking and were told our food wasn't ready then to later find out it was sitting there all that time. Food that went COLD.
Last time they forgot to give us our chips we ordered. I called twice - no one picked up. I emailed the invoice to advise we didn't receive our fries. No reply was provided.
On a different occasion their online ordering was down. I couldn't order online so called up and the guy who picked up said I had to do it online after explaining their ordering system was down, he put me on hold to check. He returned to the call and confirmed their online ordering was not working. I asked to order over the phone he said he couldn't take an order over the phone. Absolute poor service.
Goodbye GYG South bank. Too many times have to you failed to provide decent service. Read all your other 1 star reviews GYG Sth bank. This is beyond a joke!
Save your breath and don't respond by telling me to email hola@ blah blah blah
Grey street shop service is really bad, they mix up you order very easily. If you ask for table service they give your order in a takeaway bag. Occasionally you might get your order on the tray if you ordered dine in but they don't give you serviettes so you have to go back to the counter and collect serviettes.
Food quality is alright.
We have been heaps of times to guzman y gomez as we love the flavours, the freshness and the quality of food. However yesterday was a total waste of money, we ordered 3 dishes for 2 people. We barely had meat in it, totally tasteless, heaps of rice and beans, and the nachos seemed old and some of the tortillas bunt, the pico de gallo seemed unseasoned and today we both are sick. I would say worst experience ever in GYG. 2 stars cause I could finish it all.
We love GyG and tonight at South Bank, shout out to the young lady named Tamila! We ordered at 6: 30pm but the Riverfire fireworks was about to start in 15mins. The restaurant was soooo busy and our order was likely going to be at least 25 mins so we decided to leave for the meantime and return after the fireworks. By the time we got back, it was more than an hour and the place got even busier. Tamila said it has been more than an hour, they could not leave the food waiting for health and safety reasons. BUT she was going to make it again for us. What an amazing service, thank you Tamila! That’s why we always keep coming back here.
I had to wait for my order more than 30 minutes and I once I got it, it was swimming on “pico de Gallo juice”.
Better spend your $ someplace else nothing much exciting unless other places are closed and u don't have any other options
I had a delicious fresh vegan option, a recommendation from 1 of the friendly helpful staff.
Nice outdoor seating options, with bin chickens. LOL
Burritos and Nachos way too overpriced for its bad quality. Seriously, a “large” burrito costs about $12. Extremely dissatisfied with the free range chicken. It was so over burnt that I only can taste the overcooked taste and they didn’t even put much chicken inside it. I had high hopes for a good burrito but this downright disappointed me. Just go to the nearby Burrito Bar instead.
The lady at chashier, is she deaf or maybr she couldn't understand english, becouse I say 5 times and she still couldn't understand me, common guys, waste of time
Staff are always pumped to greet you here. Seem like a really happy team out the back and they put effort into whipping up a quick meal. Consistent and also good cheap coffee.
If you're going to charge 20% surcharge on a public holiday at least hire the staff for it. One useless person taking orders with two making meals in the back. 30 mins for a burrito is just pathetic. Oh and once the 6pm crew came on they were all high fiving and giving each other hugs after NYE! Way to go on the Covid safe plan guzman, NEVER AGAIN!
