Fantastic! The kids have been learning so much more than self defence. Respect, consideration of others all in a safe space where they have enjoyed being. It’s made attending classes easy - no challenge to get the kids dressed and at the school.

Having trained at this BJJ gym for over 4 years, I can confidently say that it's an exceptional community with fantastic coaches. The training experience here never gets monotonous because the instructors continually approach the same techniques in different ways over time, making it feel new and fun.

The attention to detail in their explanations is commendable. It truly helps us understand the 'why' and 'how' behind each move, enabling us to make the right decisions during practice.

One thing I appreciate the most is the gym's emphasis on training rather than fighting. This approach creates a safe and supportive environment for everyone. I feel completely at ease training with these guys and genuinely look forward to continuing my journey of improvement here.

Garra BJJ is a great place for my 2 sons (6 & 7) to improve their self discipline and learn the technical craft of bjj. The coaching team are well organized, professional, and the kids have a blast at training.

I have recently started attending some of the adult classes and enjoy the openness and the patience that the senior members and coaches have when showing newbies like myself some of the fundamental techniques.

Love this place. We moved up from ACT and we were looking for a good gym for our children to keep training. The team at Garra made them feel like home and they absolutely love it! Thank you Garra and the team for looking after our kids!

I have daughters who train in the Nambour facility. It is a awesome place for them to learn self defence and self discipline. Coach Michael does a great job of teaching and encouraging. The place is welcoming. I have enjoyed watching my kids grow in and learn this fantastic sport.

There are a lot of BJJ clubs out there that don't have the same technical proficiency as Garra, but you'd never know unless you trained at both. After training here for three years I know that i'm getting the most value out of my precious time. There are lots sessions available which is not something that other clubs do well and, each coach has a different yet equally valuable style that you can learn technique variations with.

If you're looking for a club as an adult or, for a place to train your kids I would recommend HQ.

What a great club! We moved from ACT and going to a new club can be daunting. Our four children were welcomed and felt like home straight away. Club is well organised and always professional. Coaches have high expectations on values and respect. Half year grading was a great experience and inspirational to our children. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

This gym has changed our family direction in a positive way. I thought I was too old (55) however I love the people, the instructors and the sport. My wife and son have benefited also.

Great environment and friendly atmosphere. Lots of classes for all levels, including beginners, kids, women only classes.
Kids classes are great. The instructors are awesome and patient, and are really good at getting the kids to participate, even the very shy ones (like my daughter).

BJJ at Garra HQ got me through some ruff times and introduced me to a friendly, safe all tho competitive atmosphere, looking forward to every session since, cant miss with GARRA BJJ

I've been with Garra BJJ since 2019 and as soon as I met head coach Eduardo Dias, I knew this was the place for me. Alongside coach Anton Minenko, their knowledge and understanding of the art is second to none. Anyone can teach moves, which is why thankfully they don't just teach moves at Garra. Instead, they instil the concepts behind the moves, leading to far greater success on the mats.

Just as important is the vibe of an academy, and Garra HQ has an abundance of it. You won't find huge egos there, but you will meet wonderful training partners eager to help you succeed in your bjj journey.

If you're just starting out in BJJ, or are a seasoned pro, this might sound biased, but you won't find a better academy in Brisbane. Oss!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can (and will) truly change your life. For me, it happened here at Garra BJJ under the watchful eyes of professor Eduardo and countless instructions from professor Anton, professor Lucas, and the rest of the Garra trainers and team members.
