French Speak

I've been learning French with French Speak for quite a few years now and have always found the lessons to be well organized, activities well varied and teachers always friendly and helpful. They know how to challenge you at just the right level for your abilities with positive feedback on progress

When you find a good teacher in any field, you stick with them. Devy is one such teacher, bringing a sense of order and structure to our French language learning. This is rare, but even more so that she is able to provide a safe space to learn with a feeling of an intimate classroom setting online. Having come from other courses and one-to-one lessons, I especially appreciated the pace of learning and the constant gentle feedback. Learning a language is supposed to be fun, but it can also be intimidating and there are some vulnerabilities in trying to create and use your grasp of the language that you need to overcome, Devy provides a beautiful space of learning to ensure all are able to thrive and supported.

I've been learning French with Devy, and several of the other French Speak teachers, for several years, and I can't recommend French Speak enough. French Speak has taken me from rusty long-lost school boy French, to a confident French speaker and learner. I started learning to help with a project at work, and Devy's enthusiasm and encouragement is one of the main reasons I've carried on. French Speak makes learning interesting by tying the lessons to things I'm interested in and thinking about how I might use my French. Devy is always encouraging, sets sensible goals and helps you get there. She has been brilliantly flexible in helping fit my French to busy lives, and adjusting teaching styles to fit to my needs. A great way to learn French and lots of opportunities to practise speaking. Really well organised and fun sessions. Highly recommended.

I used to be unhappy with my French accent, my vowels, nasal sounds and pronunciation of the French R. But that was before I took Devy’s course Pronounce and Understand French Better. Devy has a unique way of explaining the intricacies of French pronunciation in a clear and simple manner, as well as shedding light on the elusive French R. She also demonstrates the correct position of the mouth to emulate individual sounds in a way that would make the most committed Francophile proud. I heartily recommend this course.

French Speak offers a personalised and positive learning experience and Devy is a very considerate and thoughtful teacher. Her lessons are always well prepared and target achievable goals, which is very encouraging! She is also lots of fun.

Devy has the most calming and caring energy which completely transpired in my private lessons. I was quite overwhelmed with the pace of University French and Devy was able to break down what I was learning in class to tailor our lessons. I felt completely comfortable in the learning environment which meant I could improve my speaking skills without fear of judgment. I learnt to love the language rather than view it as something I was being graded on and would recommend Devy to absolutely anyone!

I have always wanted to speak French and when this was offered at work - I took the opportunity. I have just completed beginners 2 and hoping that we move on to beginners 3,4 etc. It is a great "time out" for some "me" time to use my brain for something personal to achieve. I love visiting France so look forward to the next opportunity to practice my newly learned skills. Devy is a patient and great teacher that keeps it interesting and fun - and it is NOT like when I tried to learn French at school - This is so much better. I would recommend this course to other businesses, friends and family - and if you are hesitating I would say "Just do it":)

I would highly recommend Devy’s French classes to anyone! Not only is it a great way to learn a new language but it is also an amazing stress reliever for corporate workers. It definitely is an activity that colours up your day and breaks that monotony of a 9 to 5 job. Devy’s teaching method is engaging and practical and my colleagues and I had a lot of fun in every class. We’re already looking forward to the next term so that we can continue our little French adventure!
