Fernwood Women's Gym Carindale

I’ve been to a few gyms and Fernwood Carindale is by far my favourite! Everyone is so welcoming and I feel comfortable to just wear my crop top and shorts without feeling self conscious like I would other gyms. Great equipment. Reasonable price. Amazing and cheap crèche.

We come to Fernwood every week and the club has everything we need. Great facilities, beautifully friendly staff and great fitness programs! Love it here

Good location good vibe
However: 1. Air condition turns off at 10pm sharp no matter hot summer or cold winter
2. Lots fans not on during hot summer night
3. Frequently equipments out of order

Beautiful gym & I love the facilities. Especially the crèche (they can baby sit your newborn!). Tahlia who is one of the team members introduced me to the gym and is so lovely. Noticeably so clean in here too! Love love love.

Carindale club has great facilities! Very spacious. Easy to use for workouts. Always kept very clean. Staff are incredibly friendly & eager to help. Also has an infrared sauna which I regularly use. Good variety of classes. I love the seperate workout rooms for Yoga, Cycle & Reformer Pilates. One of my favourite health clubs in Qld. Spacious, comfortable & inviting. Excellent environment for health & fitness.

My daughter left Fernwood Carindale in February 2021 and has never visited the gym and never got emails or calls from the gym since then. But found out her account was continuously charged till early 2022 even in Queensland lockdowns. They refused to refund. Be careful when dealing with them and always check your account to protect yourself.

Very bad customer service from the team. Very unimpressed as I had a matter that needed to be dealt with. Communicated to the team well in advance and no one took the matter seriously. The matter was not resolved in time and I personally had to deal with the repercussions. They did not call me or email me as promised they would several times. Advised that they would resolve the matter and did not. It seems they don’t actually care about their clients as they claim to.

Love the staff and the community vibe of the place. I’ve been a member for over two years and I have since moved but I’m hesitant to cancel my membership. The ammenities are fantastic, the club is always clean, everyone there is friendly, helpful and non-judgemental. The perks (massage chairs, bathrooms goodies etc) are great and the classes are brilliant. Love the Fernie tribe.

Comparison between this branch and the Underwood one:
- Seems like Carindale is much bigger and has a few more machines. Most of the "personal trainer" equipment that are secured after hours in Underwood are available 24/7 in Carindale.
- Carindale has machines that don't display kg/pounds on the pin machines. They simply have levels from 1-10 etc. I did notice they aren't the same and are different so made it a bit more confusing.
- They have more dedicated rooms such as for stretching and even massage chairs! Their classes room is massive. The only thing missing is the dedicated personal trainer area in Carindale so if you're doing a session, you have to share equipment with everyone else whereas in Underwood it's a separate area (and alarmed after hours so you can't use them). Furthermore, Underwood has a kitchen/free breakfast etc area whereas Carindale doesn't.
- Changing rooms and facilities are smaller in Carindale but they have self-lock lockers and the showers/cubicles are hella tiny.
- Carindale has TVs in front of cardio so you can get distracted with that while you work out and let it pass time.

It was amazing when I joined, at the start of this year. But then 2 months in alot changed.my favourite class I attended 3 times a week and the whole live class roster.really struggled to get my motivation back after that.shame because it's a great gym!

This gym is great - Staff are friendly, lots of classes and a all round great atmosphere. I've never found a gym that I like going to as much as Fernwood.

A very wonderful place and the workers and the ones who work their way are very beautiful and all the exercise tools are there for them I advise you to go to him I want to keep going‍️

No judgement on your size or ability from other members or staff! Just finished the 12 week challenge and had the best time and have made life long friends! Has the best personal trainers that are always there to help you reach your goals no matter how big or small they are)

Biggest, most affordable children's crèche I have ever come across. Plenty of toys and activities to keep little ones busy while Mums get some well deserved 'me time'. Whether you're interested in group fitness, personal training, food coaching, sauna + massage chairs, or simply just enjoying a shower without the kids banging on the door - this gym covers all bases. They also run a kids fitness program in the school holidays to promote active healthy lifestyles for the whole family.

Awesome gym, great equipment love my PT so much i do two a week. Very friendly staff always welcomed with a friendly smile and most importantly with your name. This gym is amazing

What an incredible gym! Love going to this place most days of the week, it is literally my second home. The staff are incredibly friendly and know your name which is really cool. The best classes and music anywhere! I made the best decision when I joined this gym! Love it!

A great community minded gym! Recently helped us raise $375 for a non for profit charity, which wouldn't have been possible without the gym's participation. The best class by far is Zumba and Anna (instructor) is AMAZING at motivating all participants. Great location and child minding facilities also.:)

Ignoring the obviously biased opinion of a competitors employee, i agree with all the comments written by other MEMBERS.

This gym is UNREAL, they are positive, friendly and non judgemental. Most of all they are ENCOURAGING.

I had to cancel my membership last year due to a job loss and before signing up again recently i decided try out another gym. I went there once, and immediately proceeded to Fernwood straight afterward after quickly realising that there is no comparison.

I do personal training and being very shy could never see myself doing any of the group classes. However there friendly and welcoming nature has convinced me to give them a go. That's a huge feat in my books.

I would definitely recommend giving them a go, if you are looking to join a fantastic family and culture.

I absolutely love this gym! The staff are all lovely and even made the effort to learn my name to greet me by name when I come to the gym! There are a heap of exercise equipment, the group room is MASSIVE, plus a functional fit room, yoga room and cycle room! There is even massage chairs and a sauna in the stretch room!

In regards to the music, I always find it at an appropriate level for a gym. If you have a problem with the style of music (popular top 40 charts and recent songs) bring your own headphones? Obviously they aren't going to cater for all music styles as some people like heavy metal and other people like meditation music so they can't cater for everyone and top 40 and recent songs on the radio is a safe bet. Sorry but I don't think they could play ACDC to get people motivated. I would hate slow music at a gym! If you want slow music go ahead and bring your own headphones or walk on the treadmil and plug them in to listen to the news or tv!

I am starting the 12 week challenge which is so exciting and I can't wait to have the support of everyone at fernwood carindale. They really make an effort to make everyone feel comfortable. And if the staff are positively reviewing the gym too it means that the staff love the place they work which is clear from the excellent customer service I have recieved every time I go to the gym!

I would also like to stay I love the members nights! They are always exciting and I love free samples too! Haha I could only say could we have a members night every month! That would be amazing!:)

I can't commend this gym enough. It is such a pleasure to be a part of such a great team and feel as though you are supported! Thank you for having such a group class timetable too (More Tuesday and Friday night classes!)

I truly enjoy going to this gym. Everyone is so friendly, the equipment is pink and it has a day spa vibe. Very nice
