Dymocks Indooroopilly reviews
33Dymocks as always has a great selection of books, I really enjoy the travel section, as there are actually maps available for most Countries.
A good range.didn't find the exact author/book I was after - but came out with a couple of others!
Great staff, store was a little dimly lit but could find things easily. Had most of the popular novels and some more obscure reads.
Loved this store and have been a loyal customer. Till today I was treated rudely at the counter by a woman. She made it very known that my presence was wasting her time. Appauling customer service. Will not be back.
Ok if you're a teenager looking for teen scifi or similar as about three rows of this. They didn't have even one of the four authors I was looking for in stock and only one short row for adults.
Very disappointing encounter today when attempting to collect my "Click & Collect". A special birthday present from my son who recently moved overseas. After presenting my quite valid email as proof, the three women managed to reduce me to:
- shame: as the only reason why they haven't the book in their sophisticted system (a pile on a shelf) is I must be lying and someone has collected it already.
- guilt: well they would have to give it to me but it will need to come out of the on-the-day's-manager's personal pocket
- fobbed off: we don't have it in stock now
- inconvenienced: can you came back tomorrow?
- grilled: where do you live?
I remained calm and polite during the long encounter, even apologizing for the delay in my collecting the book, however, when the book was finally taken from the shelf, thrown on the counter with a "we shouldn't be doing this", it was breaking point for me.
No, this 64 yr old well educated female is not trying to scam your establishment out of a book. I would prefer to not have my special gift tarnished in such a manner, along with my dignity and so left bookless.
Perhaps there has been a mistake in your system? ! It appears there are several things "broken" in the store.
We will return to our loyal QBD bookstore in the same center. Their gold membership is excellent, the staff helpful and nice. My younger son accidently went there to collect this same order, and even though they, rightfully, couldn't find it in their computer system, they kindly offered a compensation, which he gratefully declined as he realized his error. Big difference!
Great location and good range and selection. Some books are sightly overpriced though. I guess it's understandable for a brick and mortar store with real person service.
It had all the books I needed, in addition to that it even had great customer service!
There were no problems
One of the best and well-stocked bookstores in Brisbane! Great place, wonderful range of books and one of the best history and true crime and biography sections that there is. Staff is just amazing!
We were served by a really friendly person who found time to have a chat about books and was very helpful.
The Staff are always very helpful and obliging. I've been shopping there for years now and highly recommend them.
Great bookshop. Always something to pick up a browse. Regular customer. Friendly staff. Always reduction on new books.
Love their little notes against a few select books containig handwritten summary of the book review. Very interesting and individualised.
Books galore for such a moderate sized shop. Staff are always helpful and ready to offer recommendations.
I always enjoy wandering into Dymocks Indooroopilly. The store is presented well and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Absolutely amazing staff member I dealt with. Held the last copy of a book I wanted and when I arrived after a 40 minute drive she also told me I had a credit I could use towards them from my membership card. Was sooo happy!
Counter service was okay but very slow. Range of books was decent but fair amounts of empty shelf space.
I always try to shop here but today was disappointed. I asked about a dictionary which I thought they might have. The lady behind the counter seemed impatient with me asking and wouldn't even look up the book on the computer. I considered asking to see if it could be ordered in but her attitude made me want to take my money elsewhere so I ordered it online.
A tall dark haired young woman served me. There was no hello, please or thank you in the transaction. When she handed my purchases to me I was looking at her quite intensely waiting for a thank you, when she looked at me quizzically and said "do you need a bag? " I didnt need a bag, nor do I ever need to shop at Dymocks again.
Walked in and found what I didn't even know I was looking for. Crowded during Christmas period but service was great.
