Dune Cafe

Great location and atmosphere. Worst coffee. I ordered x3 vanilla dirty chais and they all came out tasting like vanilla milkshake, so sweet and weak coffee.

Lunch on 25 Nov 2023 for 3 people.

No doubt the staff were well intend. Our negative experiences are a management issue.

Arrived and seated - approx 4 other tables occupied at the time.

After being seated, we were asked if water was needed 3 times - twice by same service staff - 3 “yes” answers given.

Water delivered and food orders taken.

More patrons arrive for lunch until the restaurant was comfortably busy.

However, 4 other tables that arrived after us served their meals while we waited with nothing. In fact, there was no further approach to the table since delivery of the water.

Some of the other tables departed, and after one hour, 2 plates of 3 arrived to our table. Minutes after a side order, arrived for the third person, however no comment from the service staff as to when the third main might arrive.

In other words 2 guest meals, begin to cool while we wait for the third meal which arrived in another five minutes without comment or apology from the service staff.

There were no other service approaches to our table in relation to other beverages, replenishment, dessert or whatsoever.

Having waited for the food check and with no eye or verbal contact to us, we decided to pay at the entrance.

We were asked to offer a tip increments of 5% on their tap and pay device.

I mentioned that the service staff was pleasant, however, the overall experience was poor, and that consequently, we would not be tipping on the occasion.

A nice venue excellent music and decor.

Wait times long, most tables in the sun, young staff not super friendly. More vegan options please

Excited by reviews but disappointed by reality. Maybe we came on an off day, twice?

The almond croissant was rock solid, the hash Browns were stodgy, the bread was dry, and there was not a speck of herb, spice or flavour on the entire plate (lucky we had salt and oil in the car but even with that we couldn't get through most of it). I'm all for simplicity and letting ingredients speak for themselves but none of these were fresh enough to.

The staff were friendly but there was too much wrong to bother explaining/ asking for a fix: (

That said, the river next door is full of dogs so minus the food, it's heaven!

The staff were really helpful. We couldn't book because it was a public holiday, but they helped us find a table for 10, which was quite a feat.

Went here during the Christmas holidays 2022 on a lovely sunny day. Was absolutely packed with people everywhere enjoying the nearby park and lagoon beach. Enjoyed takeaway coffees and some hot chips, which were all excellent. Despite the crowds service was fast and friendly. Well worth a visit if ever close by to this great spot.

Food and location is amazing! I always love coming here for a nice meal and a coffee with friends! ️ (or a baby-chino with my daughter hehe)

Very friendly staff and a great location close to beaches and kids playground.

Food and drinks good, but the waiting time could put some off.

Unless you are prepared to wait at least 10 minutes on average days or 30 minutes plus on busy days for a coffee then you might wanna make other plans.

Staff were happy to seat us (table of 8) ten minutes before close!
Food came out so fast we were all surprised.
Everything looked great and tasted amazing!

Great place for get together, great coffee, wonderful menu, overlooking the park and the water. Very relaxing place, bring your dogs as well

Great spot on the river, friendly staff and amazing food. Love the small plate selection too. Highly recommend. Fantastic playground nearby for the kids too and toilets next door. One with the lot!

No stars for reheated food (almost burnt) provided for brunch along with cold coffee.

I always get a cappuccino here on the way to the dog beach. Never fails, great coffee and great staff.
Sometimes the queue is a pain but hey, gotta wait for the good things in life

Perfect spot of breakfast on a sunny day. The staff were an absolute delight, nothing was too much trouble even when they were busy. We enjoyed the chilli scramble bowl and beetroot and goats cheese toast with some great coffees. I'll definitely be back.

Thank you to beautiful lady who looked after us today! So lovely to have such a beautiful human/customer service experience. You made our day better also food and coffee was lovely!

I wanted to pass on a massive RAVE and wow for Chrisie.
She was working at the counter on Sat 5/3 and her smile, greeting and personality was just so lovely. Made me smile.
She not only took my order, though said hello to my daughter, my dog and I could feel she loved what she did.
You guys don’t know how rare this is.
She is a asset to your Buisness.

Lovely Cafe open to the water and on the park, great food and coffee and lovely staff. Highly recommend!

Great cafe: friendly staff, good prices, food came out pretty quick even though they were busy. Lots of gluten free options. Delicious food. They have some ready made options like frittata etc.plus some yummy slices including gluten free sweets. Nice spot for a picnic lunch, maybe a swim. They're building a playground there, but it's still under construction. Parking was very busy, might have to circle for a park (Sunday arvo).

Rubbish food, rubbish coffee and opening themselves to a law suit with how they're treating people.
