Dr. Apel Gregory

At first I thought Dr Apel was quite helpful and friendly but realised after a few admissions in Damascus that he was arrogant and rude. The more I struggled with my addiction the worse the attitude I got from him. I realised i needed to deal with the trauma that caused the addiction in the first place. It worked. I'm happy to say that eventually i got help through EMDR therapy and counselling from wonderful experienced therapist at DrugArm whom I am still seeing in her private practice tothis day. I have been drug free for many years and live a happier healthier life now. No more hospital admissions anywhere. Sometimes you don't have to spend $$$$$ to find the right person to help you.

I Highly recommend Dr Apel, helped me through many personal hurdles, in a positive, you can nail this, manner, a real bloke, feet firmly planted on the ground a stand up professional without an ego deficit. Thanks mate.

As a fellow health professional I can fully recommend Dr Gregory Apel. His relaxed approach puts his patients at ease, which produces amazing results.

Very good listener, he did not have much to say but when he opened his mouth he hit the nail on the head with some really good advice and with that another step closer to achieving my goals in life. Pay attention to people with knowledge and wisdom, soak in the pearls when they come your way it may just change your life for the better.

Was sent here by workcover. When needing to get back in contact with him I have been unable to. The phones are never answered the messages left are never replied to and after a month of trying still no contact.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this specialist. He's been awesome in every way for me over the years through thick and thin. Very sharp, talented and insightful.

Go anywhere else but here. I have been his patient, more so the receiver of emailed scripts. In which I have to fight every month to get filled. I haven't seen him for over 3 months and get diagnosed over the phone. I see a GP once a week a Phycologist twice a week and a Chiropractor twice a week. Dr Apels solution is I just need to get a job and stay on medication. When questioning this I recived an atlamatom. Do what I say or find someone else.

My FIRST meet and greet with this psychiatrist started with Him taking TWO Phone calls! Highly unprofessional, , but wait, the 2nd call was MRSApel.
What a disrespectful person.

In My Opinion, Dr Gregory Apel does not have the appropriate skills to differentiate between his clients.
Continuing to insist that ALL Addicts are completely the same.
Not even bothering to listen or understand that NOT Every Person is the same. Even telling me i was rude for giving My Opinion.
I was even told I had to lodge an FOI to read MY notes. Wow, if it didn't cost soooo much, I would.

I do hope this remains uncensored.

The treatment he sent me off to get at Bris Private was NOT what I understood I was there for! Not sure how much Bupa was paying him for the 6 min "chat "he had in my room.

Was very tentative about going back into the world of phsychiatry and I was referred to Greg as one of the “best” in Brisbane. At $400 per hour I was expecting some level of care. What I received was neglect, a change of meds, no follow up from Greg whatsoever or his secretary. I left multiple messages and even had my family contact him as they were so concerned for my mental health. I left Greg a 1 star review at 7.30pm on a Friday night and, Lo and behold, I receive a call from his PERSONAL mobile 20 minutes later. Coincidence? I seriously doubt it. Anyone experiencing mental health problems I could not suggest a worse person to go to. The lack of care/aftercare is extraordinary. Nobody seems to have any idea what’s going on and the doctor himself was quite arrogant.
