Doolandella Fish Depot

My Doolandella favourite. Their Barra and chips is exceptional and at a reasonable price. I also can't fault their service either, really warm and friendly.

Hamburger combo $14.45. Calamari and chips $11. Chips and calamari were very good, burger was just decent. Prices arent too bad. Would give 4.5 stars

The fish is fresh, but boy, we sure pay for it! The Tasmanian oysters are very small and expensive and tasteless (likely frozen) Tiny, in fact. (Previous owners had fresh, big, fat juicy ones!) Snapoer size reduced to about half previous size for same money, but it is fresh.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. The people that work here are idiots. They have no idea how to speak to people on the phone when you're trying to order. 7 minutes it took me to place a phone order today because they couldn't understand English.
I ordered a few things, one of which was Calamari Rings. I asked if the Calamari could be packed separately as my partner is allergic to seafood. Not a problem I was told. I arrive to pay and again stressed that the Calamari to be packed separately, again told not a problem. 5 minutes later my name gets called and there is only one package. I asked where the Calamari was, the young guy said he wasn't told. I said I told the lady 3 times for it to be separated. She didn't write it on the docket. I asked for it to be redone due to allergies. Said it would be a while, so I asked for a refund. The young guy had to ask the old guy (that's being polite) for a refund. He threw his hands in the hair and yelled for me to get the refund. I will never step food in the place again. If you're going to have non-Australian staff, make sure they know how to speak the language and understand the language.
Bad attitude / Bad Service

We have been going to Doolandella Fish Depot for a long time and we have always had great food and great service.
I was always bought up to treat people how I would like to be treated and after reading some people's reviews, obviously you don't treat people correctly.

This place is by far the best fish n chips I've had in Brisbane. I always order for my mum here and she likes to get the same everytime, battered Coral trout, battered Tassie oysters and a scoop of chips and Greek salad. Beautiful fish and chips. Super friendly staff

The older Vietnamese lady worker was really friendly and always welcoming when we are there! Great food and the good value for money imo

Great value for money, tastes really good, they don't use canola oil so it doesn't taste greasy and they do great chips. The works burger is big and really well-priced. Fisherman's basket could just about feed 2 people even though it's meant for 1.

Fish/seafood is always incredibly fresh and staff are friendly. Food prepared quickly and with a smile.

What amazing seafood and so close to home! Last weekend we bought a whole, stiff fresh, Snapper that we baked at home. So succulent, the best seafood we have had for a long time!
Today, we decided to dine in, with beer battered flake, panko crumbed cod, a serve of chips, a Greek salad and complimentary tartare sauce. Absolutely delicious and amazing value for money. See you again soon!

8/10 times you will get perfect service and amazing food, sometimes the food can be a little underwhelming due to cooked-ness (under or over) and temperature.

Love love loved the battered fish and chips I purchased from them. Was worth the drive and to top it all off they even had Kinas and oysters! Food was packaged nicely. Awesome

Best fish and chips i have had in Brisbane since moving here from Sydney over 12 years ago service is also excellent and the staff are very polite and helpful

Awesome, great customer service, the food is to die for, fresh, every time and great value for money. I have a take away not 2mins walk from my door step yet I walk the 1.3km to go to this place. Trust me once you taste the food you will never go anywhere else but here.

Love their $9.90 fish and chip deal! Always fresh and doesn’t leave you with that icky dirty oil feeling as many other fish and chip places do. They don’t do thick cut chips but the ones they provide are just as good. On one occasion we ate there so often they gave us a free tare tare sauce with our order but since then haven’t given us any freebies or discounts. Hehe. Would love loyalty cards or discounts for recurrent customers if you can ;)
