Core Yoga Studios reviews
31Closed down West End studio classes in late 2022, apparently still operating to run retreats or other events.
Chantalah and Nathan are deeply knowledgeable practicioners and higly-skilled, empathathetic teachers. They are the real deal.
Their classes are relaxed, well structured, and they have the experience to ensure students always feel safe, supported and comfortable in adjusting their practice to suit individual needs.
I have long dabbled in yoga with countless different teachers in various attempts to improve athletic performance, heal injuries and generally feel good, but nothing really stuck – until I joined Chantalah's beginners yoga class last year.
After just a few weeks of classes I was able to better understand, feel and move my body with more control than I ever have (even after years of various sports, athletics and martial arts).
Additionally, after spending 000's of $ and hours on painful, boring and often counter-productive physiotherapy over many years, after discovering Core Yoga, my body has become more flexible, relaxed, resilient, pain-free and stronger than it has ever been.
I feel blessed to have met such amazing teachers, and hope to continue learning from and practicing with them for many years to come.
Excellent philosophy. Teachers walk their talk. Loving, passionate with great senses of humour. Terrific live-stream classes on offer!
I had such a wonderful experience being treated by Chanthalah at Core Yoga Studios during a performance season in Brisbane. After explaining the issues and pain i was experiencing, I felt listened to and understood. Chanthalah's thorough and up to date understanding of the moving body is second to none, and the treatment she provided me with allowed me to perform pain free and with a better understanding of what was happening in my dancing body. Highly recommend for dancers and active people!
A wonderful experience. Chanthalah has a deep and curious understanding of the physical body, and is generous with information. She helped me to understand what was going on anatomically, and tailored the experience for my specific needs. Would highly recommend to dancers and other highly physical people.
I cannot recommend Core Yoga enough. I have been coming for 10 years for a very good reason! Nathan Tight and Chanthalah Webster-Tight and all their other teachers create a beautiful space in their studio that ripples out to everyone in the Core Yoga community. As a medical person myself, I love their anatomical descriptions of the asanas and their meld of science and yoga to explain why a pose or meditation is beneficial. Their warmth, humour and inclusivity is obvious from the first class with them and it will keep you coming back. Five stars!
Highly professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. It was great to understand my body better! Beautiful facilities!

The instructor Tessa was great and as someone who is not very good at Yoga but just trying my best she was super supportive and offered alterations to suit my needs. Plus online is great as I can do classes from home without fear of judgement like in a studio setting
Why do I keep going back?
Many reasons. I'm supported, not judged, instructed by professional and highly skilled practitioners; I always feel better than when I arrived; My faith and hope in life is renewed and restored; it does me good.
Yoga is for every body. Core Yoga has proven that to me over the past 5 years.
I left my first physio appointment here understanding my pain, how to work with it safely with more confidence and less fear. I also felt physically freer after practising the exercises and stretches. For the first time in my long rehabilitation, I feel hopeful of making a full recovery
Core Yoga has been one of my favorite yoga school for a long time.
Nathan and Chanthala's teaching style is easily understood, in depth, extremely competent, science based, considering everybody's needs.
And now I was lucky enough to experience that their teaching style has been passed on to the next generation of teachers with all it’s competencies!
Go and check them out!
I always loved the bit of guided rest at the end of a yoga class The irest meditation course was like that as a bigger session, 6 weeks of focus on rest and and exploring my happy place was a treat.
I am returning after 3 year. I moved job and joined a gym with a work mate, we had a lovely yoga teacher but they left and so I have returned to Chanthalah's class - I was instantly reminded of her beautiful, open energy, her great communication style and the sense of fun she brings to class. I am so pleased to have come back to Core Yoga.and I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my practice.
I love this class. Especially when I don't feel like going, attending this class is the best thing I can do for my wellbeing, sense of calm and perspective.
Person-centred approach, always friendly and helpful and thoughtful. My shoulder is working better than it has in ages and my knees are doing ok too! I feel relaxed and welcomed every time I visit. Love Core Yoga and physio with Chanthalah.
Chantalah is very considerate and comfortable to work with in physiotherapy. If you have certain goals she will help explore those with you to achieve a balanced approach to healing. I felt safe and heard which is most important as l find physical pain and emotional (trauma-informed) is inseperable.
I love the yoga flow by candle light class. Chanthala is an excellent yoga teacher- caring and knowledgeable. The calming atmosphere is great for focusing on your yoga practice, whatever your level.
Personal attention even in larger class. Explanation of benefits of practice. Always positive and attentive.
Chanthalah is honestly the best yoga teacher I have ever encountered and Elke is an an excellent massage therapist. I cannot recommend this studio more. Excellent both in studio and online classes.
